Hats off to you, sir.
That setup makes little sense, and the right stick positioning is all wrong for FPS. Anyways, if it's a multiplatform title, why would you be playing it on WiiU?
"follow our lead, follow our lead" indeed. smh
Hats off to you, sir.
Gee, I dunno... they may well run better? (Emphasis on "may" I guess)
I think the stick placement is crazy, the nintendo d-pads are horribly undersized and it's likely it will be light akin to the sixaxis which is just fucking odd to hold.
Totally fine with them emulating the 360 pad. Glad Nintendo is making this controller available. Would be happier if one was included with the console so developers know that every wiiu gamer has one.
Dual Shock is still king for me

This brings a single tear to my eye.
because not everyone has more than one system per generation.

Dear Nintendo,
You did everything to bend over backwards for third-parties and "hardcore" gamers,

True, (anecdotal evidencemost people I know that have a console, have only ONE console. I too will only have 1 next gen console.
Eh, we don't know that yet at all.
As in bundled with it? No.so wait does this controller come with the system?
Why would I buy a third party game for Wii U if I can have it on other consoles I already own? The one thing that would make me buy these titles on Wii U was going to be because of the touchscreen features this game could have had.
hmmm i think im still okay with this (if this works on wiiu)

Yeah, I liked the slide pads more so myself as well. If they were better than the 3ds that I've never had a problem with, then I would rather that. Still pumped for it, and I refuse to get this classic controller. No point since the Umote does the same thing but more. Guess anything to give more options is always good though. The buttons and the sticks are ruining it for me. I like the concave sticks better than raised.
Atleast the dpad will be better. Hopefully we get a good madcatz controller that does it 360 style.
For multiplatform games

This. The big selling point of the WiiU is the pad controller. Now it isn't, and yet it is. Make unique things, Iwata says, but here's a generic 360 pad clone. Provide new things, but here's something that it isn't. WiiU is all about the pad, except it's not because here's a 360 controller.
Mixed signals. Mixed signals everywhere. Muddies up their message and I'm left thinking like they're just throwing everything at the wall and sees what sticks. The U pad with all the buttons of a standard controller is more than enough. I have no clue what compelled Nintendo to go and make a controller that basically said "it's OK, third parties, you can make generic games and completely ignore the whole point of the console".
smh
this is possibly the worst controller I've played with. Feels like cheap plastic.
I agree.
I went and bought one of those SNES Wii controllers because I hate the Classic Controller Pro so much.
It's probably the worse controller Nintendo has ever made, but the d-pad is still good.
Okay, at least in terms of this controller nonsense. The power probably isn't there, which only amplifies the point.
Why bother with this 360 controller when the "hardcore" and third parties are going to jump ship anyway at the first taste of UE4?
You're a unique soul.
Not really. I agree with you. Never could get used to the 360 controller for some reason.
nyways, if it's a multiplatform title, why would you be playing it on WiiU?
Didn't the Gamecube controller have the sticks like the 360 controller?

I am hoping we get to use our own battery source instead of having to plug it into a charger all the time

Yep. Their only vision for this console is to appease crybabies. This is the Neville Chamberlain of videogame consoles.
Eh, we don't know that yet at all.
Since your getting all 'factually inherently inferior' on us I'd like to call your bluff. There's a few genres that it is superior over regular controllers: point and click adventures, RTS' and lightgun style games (see Sin and Punishment for hardcore).
Now fill up the other 99.7% with genres or else it's not 'factually' correct at all.

The Gamecube and Xbox both had it before the 360 controller due to the fact that they came out before the 360 did.
The C stick doesn't really count. It worked well enough for switching weapons or camera control, but it pretty much useless for anything required precision such as aiming. The few GC games that did have dual analog control felt like shit.
