Supposedly if you have both SD &HD on your idevice, you unlock the expansion for free.. As last I checked, the expansion is 4.99.. So you can buy the SD version for 0.99 now..wait for sale for the HD version, and unlock the expansion in the HD version for "0.99".

Thanks for reminding me. I picked up the HD version a while ago, so I'll grab the SD one just for the expansion.

Are the ads particularly obtrusive in Autumn Dynasty? I played a pre-release copy so can't say I know where the ads are or how bad the frequency is.

Would you be ticked off if a Lite/F2P version of a premium game was riddled with ads?

I was curious about the ads, so I fired up Autumn Dynasty, tapped Campaign and was instantly greeted with a full screen ad for "Pyramidville Adventure."

I'd be fine with that if it were an ad-supported game. But adding intrusive ads to a game after I buy it?

If it's separate version no. The Hero of Sparta 2 debacle should be a good reminder on how NOT to do it.

Pretty cool. It seemed strange to me that a lite version of a game (i.e. a demo) would have ads. I would think that could turn off potential buyers. (But that's only based on my feelings, not on any actual data:) It took me awhile to beat level 12. I didn't realize you could draw a line anywhere, and thought they only could be where there were dark dashes. (I'm dumb sometimes.)

I always like games with simple mechanics, but that uses them in many ways to make you think. I'm curious what other mechanics are introduced further into Ichi, and so I'll probably check out the full game, at some point.

So Galaxy on Fire 2...Is it supposed to be this hard? I died during the first mission and came back with 1 hit left when I finally beat it. I'm playing on normal, but I figured it would be manageable?

Also, are menu controls supposed to be finicky? I have to tap some icons 2-3 times before it registers. Frustrating to say the least. :/

Hmm...well, unlike console games, I tend to pick the easiest setting for iOS games (since they oftentimes tend to be geared toward IAP). Haven't had any issues on Easy, and honestly, I think it's a good setting, as it actually does present a challenge without forcing me to grind out money.

As for the menu, I can't say I've run into any issues.
 
weird question but does anyone know what racing game is being advertised in the wal mart displays for the iPod touch?

looks like need for speed or something but was curious if anyone knew what it was off the top of their heads

Interesting. I may restart on Easy assuming it gives the same results story wise!

Speaking of DLC, are the two packs worth buying for Galaxy on Fire 2 right at the start of I'm enjoying?

That I couldn't tell you. Haven't checked that out, but I do know that folks are recommending just buying both the SD and HD versions of the game, as the extra content is then unlocked for free when you own both.

Kinda. I believe if you picked up the dlc on the SD version, the dlc is free on HD version.

So no you can't cheat the system ;)
 
I was thinking about Pocket Planes so I went to check NimbleBit's related twitters and amid all the teasing Ian Marsh actually said it's supposed to come out sometime this month.

I just jumped onto the Plague Inc hypetrain. Toot toot! This game is a wicked little time-killer, it's especially good to just have sitting on my desk at work ticking away, awesome stuff.

Curiously, there don't seem to be any ads in Jazz. But, yeah, that full screen ad in Autumn Dynasty just straight up pissed me off.

- Nausea
- Coughing
- Rash
- Insomnia
- Cysts
- Anaemia

I'm probably abusing the system by using the fast forward feature to let the points rack up, even if I go into 2025....

If you have the whole world infected, it's not a good idea to go out with weak to mild symptoms. As soon as the disease becomes even a bit serious, everyone will start researching a cure, and it will happen too quick for you to evolve into something more dangerous. Devolve all transmissions perks, wait a bit, and hit hard with something which is going to take out the world as soon as possible (necrosis, organ failure, that kind of stuff)
 
Wooooooooooooo, I was able to wipe out the whole world. I waited till I got 60 DNA points... Took some time, but it eventually got there.

Feels great to be able to eventually achieve it.
