I'd like to think there's a chance Jeffrey drafts Robinson because doesn't want to draft a guy who could invoke Pippen comparisons.

If Pippen was a high post Weber type of player you would made an excellent point.. MGK would be a closer Pippen and that's even far fetched..

because of his reach?

Yea. I mean he was virtually the best rebounder in college basketball last year, and I think the reach he has in combination with being close enough to 6'9 is good enough for me. I think he has potential offensively.

We'd have no low post offense between Nene and T-Rob though.

I have official measurements from #NBACombine Brad Beal6' 3.25" socks 6' 4.75" shoes and 6' 8" wing 8' 3" reach

droppin like a rock

Chad Ford ‏@chadfordinsider

Anthony Davis 6' 9.25" socks 6' 10.5" shoes and 7' 5.5" wing 9' 0" reach

PF for life. Not much bigger reach than Robinson

Andre Drummond 6' 9.75" socks 6' 11.75" shoes and 7' 6.25" wing 9' 1.5" reach. FREAKY

#2 pick

Chad Ford ‏@chadfordinsider

Thomas Robinson 6' 7.75" socks 6' 8.75" shoes and 7' 3.25" wing 8' 10" reach

What happened to him being 6'9"?

Beal measured two inches taller than people expected and taller than Gordon, not sure that will cause him to drop.

People expected him to be 6'2"? Reports were that he was really 6'5"

Chad Ford ‏@chadfordinsider

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist 6' 5.75" socks 6' 7.5" shoes and 7' 0" wing 8'8.5" reach. Great measurement for him #NBACombine

Awesome wingspan for a wing.

Chad Ford ‏@chadfordinsider

Terrence Jones 6' 8.25" socks 6' 9.5" shoes and 7' 2.5" wing 8' 9.5 reach

Pretty good. Could easily play some pf as a pro.

Chad Ford ‏@chadfordinsider

Dion Waiters 6' 2.5" socks 6' 4" shoes and 6' 7.35" wing 8' 2" reach

Rumors about a #2 pick for Rudy Gay (more would go into it and it would probably involve a third team) trade going around...hmm

*looks at Gay's contract*

$16.5M in '12-'13, $17.9M in '13-'14, $19.3M in '14-'15

Austin Rivers - 8"1 standing reach, wait what?

Wingspan is more important for perimeter players, but this kid must have the longest neck ever to have such a low reach.

I'm perfectly fine with MKG at #2.

All this trade down stuff is cake and fluff really. As long as we don't end up taking Barnes or Drummond in the top 5, I'm okay.

Hearing a rumbling that the Magic might try and send JJ + 19th to the Hornets for the 10th pick + Ariza. Considering the Hornets want capspace they could immediately waive JJ since he's fully unguaranteed next year. Ariza's better than Hedouche...but not by much.

Coming as a top 5 pick near you...

Perry Jones cleared the two-step vertical leap bar a little while ago. Everyone around was just gasping.

For comparison:

Dwight Howard:

6'9" (socks), 7'4.5" (wingspan), 9'3.5" (reach), 35.5" (vert), 12'3" (jumping reach)

PJIII:

6'10.25" (socks), 7'1.5" (wingspan), 8'10.5" (reach), ?? (vert), 12'4" (jumping reach, according to Twitter)

Eh? Those are good numbers for a guard his size. Bigger than Eric Gordon and OJ Mayo. He's no D Wade though: 6'3.75" (socks), 6'10.75" (wingspan), 8'6" (reach) :o

Roy only had a 6'8 wingspan and 8'5 reach, fyi, and he was a legit 2" taller.

EDIT: DraftExpress already has the numbers up!

Gordon has better wingspan though. And like I thought Lamb has the best physical tools out of any guard. Ross numbers are underwhelming.

Beal isn't Roy though. Beal is bad at shooting on the move. Why everyone ignores this is baffling to me. To me that is a big negative if you are looking for a guy to give you 20ppg.

And he want's to play small forward....

41.5" vert by the way.

sometimes it doesnt really translate ..

Matt Barnes 6'675 with a 40.5''

and i'll never understand how Farmar got a 42'' vert.

That's true. Luke Babbitt measure in very well as did Kevin Love, but I think it holds true in PJ3's case.

How quickly you jump matters, too.

Damian Lillard 6' 1.75" 6' 2.75" 189 6' 7.75" 8' 0"
Tyler Zeller 6' 11.25" 7' 0.5" 247 7' 0" 8' 8"

Lillard is long as hell with huge hands.

Zeller has fallen out of my favor. Them T-Rex arms aren't gonna cut it in the NBA.

Kentucky standout Michael Kidd-Gilchrist says he has a workout scheduled w/ #Blazers next week. He's likely a top 3 pick. Someone moving up?

These guys are more like volley ball jumpers. They can get up, but they get up off the ground slow.

Deummond compared himself to Durant. Dude can't even hit freethrows and thinks he can play like Durant? lolololololol

I can see why Thomas Robinson and MGK are considered top 3 in the lottery. I don't understand why Beal's name is always up there. Everything I read about him is solid, but nothing spectacular. His 3-point shooting was not that great for a supposed specialist. Unless he can play as a playmaking 2-guard, I have a hard time seeing him in the top 3.

He reminds people of Gordon and was a top player coming out of HS that's why. I think he will be a solid guard, but I don't see star potential at all. And where he is being projected is where you would take a guy that has star potential.

I would like to remind everyone that this is the time of year when charsace is completely wrong.

Jerryd Bayless and Luke Babbitt? All-Stars.

Jerryd looks like a good combo guard when he gets playing time and Babbitt didn't look bad this year.
