Did they just spend 30 minutes and not even get to the game's main gimmick?
what? You can flip upside down with the gravity gun?

The thing that annoys me the most is when Jeff plays a shooter and says.
"I don't like the way the shooting feels."
That .gif made me want to watch the QL.

But still feel that he is harsher on the more populair games, just because. I'm getting that vibe anyway, but I'm a crazy personNah, he's just more willing to try most anything even if it's bad. On the bombcast I think he sometimes tends to go along with Jeff and Ryan's cynical shtick though.

Did you really want to watch more of that shit?

You realize a majority of quick looks don't consist of just a game's opening, right?
Well I for one want a QL to be all about what the game is all about. It's like if they showed Half Life 2 before the Gravity Gun or if they showed Persona before you ever got into a battle.
The thing that annoys me the most is when Jeff plays a shooter and says.
"I don't like the way the shooting feels."
Yeah, and them jumping in fresh, or playing it through for the first time really is also an annoyance.
>_>None of this is in there though. Not a bit.
Cannot blame GB though, the game seems to have a slow/rough/terrible start.
Man I really do love the look and feel of Virtua Fighter. Is this one online?Quick Look: Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown (20:48) (Jeff / Brad)
Man I really do love the look and feel of Virtua Fighter. Is this one online?
Yeah, I'm a dummy. I should have watched more of the quick look instead of skipping around.Yes. Jeff was steaming some online from his house last night too.
That tends to be a big part of enjoying a game where you shoot things the entire time.
I think the problem is, what the fuck does that even mean?
That is a catch-all if I ever saw one. It catches so much, it makes the phrase essentially useless.I think he just uses that as a catch-all for "the gun combat isn't fun". Like poor aim acceleration, slow in and out of iron sights, guys take way too many bullets, too much/not enough recoil, too little/no feedback when enemies get hit, inaccurate guns, poorly handled auto-aim/friction when the crosshair is close to an enemy, too much animation priority when reloading or switching weapons. Stuff like that.
... do you not like him expressing the sentiment, or the fact that he doesn't go beyond just that into actually explaining what makes the shooting feel sub-par?
Because I totally agree with Jeff that lots of shooters don't "feel right", but I also agree that the explanation of that idea should go deeper into discussing reticle acceleration vis a vis stick movement, reticle stickiness regarding the painting of enemies and bullet curving and more.
Just saying "it doesn't feel right" can actually be an accurate thing to say, but it's far from a full explanation of what's happening and why.
It's non-specific, but that doesn't make it useless. If you've played enough shooters, you probably have some idea of what he means when he says that. If he was doing a proper review of the game, I'd hope he'd expand on the thought, though. That is a catch-all if I ever saw one. It catches so much, it makes the phrase essentially useless.
The world can rotate, Inception style

Welp, I guess that's that.I played a preview a few months back and that shit was all bound to glowing spots on the floor.
Welp, I guess that's that.
QL looked terrible. Not sure why anyone would actually spend money to play this considering what else is available out there. Wasted money, wasted resources.
Some people playing B (C?) grade games?
Are they ever going to do a quick look of Gravity Rush? Or some more Vita games?
Or are there technical issues with all that?

I made an OT a while back (going to rent the game when it comes out in Europe),
No Vita video content till Sony gives them a way to capture direct-feed.
Man, Sony needs to get that shit out then.
Still, GB could do off screen stuff like they did for the launch I suppose.
It is moronic.Man, Sony fucked up on this real hard. No exposure (in this case), or crappy exposure as a result.
Right, that's what I'm gathering. If it's a stalemate though (due to Sony apparent incompetence) you think GB would at least want to show the games in some form. It's more content while the games are still relevant and I didn't think the showings looked that bad during the launch videos.Jeff has said that they're never going to do a QL for Vita if it's over-the-shoulder camera stuff.

If Sony are concerned about people viewing the footage at lower DPI than intended, they should give publications some sort of direct-feed source which downscales to whatever resolution they see fit.
Although I really don't believe that reason for not doing the QuickLooks, I think they just don't care about it, which is fair enough.
I wouldn't say 'they' reviewed Gravity Rush. They cared enough to review Mortal Kombat and Gravity Rush and outside of Resistance that's the only real notable Vita games to have come out post launch. Sure it's unlikely they'd take the same broad approach to QLs on the Vita as they do games on the 360/PS3/PC but if they had the equipment I don't doubt they'd at least make an effort to cover the stuff that they find even slightly intriguing or noteworthy.
The over the shoulder cam stuff was okay for the launch day stream but I can definitely understand how it's not something they'd want to carry on with past that.
I wouldn't say 'they' reviewed Gravity Rush.
It's not a roadblock though. They're choosing not to do it. They chose to do it in the past, they choose to film in their offices all the time. It's seems like an arbitrary decision, and I have very little doubt the quality of the resulting quicklooks is not the reason they're not doing them.Hey, Alex is a valued member of the GB edito............sorry I couldn't finish that sentence.I don't have a problem with Alex
I don't think there's really a reason to invent some slight against the Vita from GB, whatever their stance on the system as a whole is, when there's a very obvious roadblock to content that's out of their control.
Man, Game Room was so terrible and so dumb. It was like the perfect source of content for GB :'(
I think it's far more likely no one watched the Vita videos so they don't bother making more of them.
