nnnnggggggghhhhh, the Penny Arcade Ep3 QL was euphoric.
I am such a SLAVE to 16 bit RPGs.
No, but I'm starting to think I should
Then buy Rainslick3 on Steam like NOW, you get free Cthulu with it.
Is this really a big deal? A lot of the people in the chat are complaining about this too.I don't like how this Spider-man game just lets you swing in the air with your web attached to nothing. Kinda lame.

It seems to me that if you actually had to attach to things you would be way more limited where you could go and it would take a lot of effort to actually get anywhere.

Ohhh, I've only ever seen Spiderman games so I assumed sky webbing was in all of them and people were just complaining because it wasn't "realistic", not because swinging from buildings was in a previous game and was a better way to play. Fair enough. That's how it was in Spider-Man 2 (only Spider-Man game i've played recently) for GC, PS2, and Xbox, and it was AWESOME.
It's like the shitty inside bits of the PS2 game, where's the damn city!?
judging by some reviews/impressions: most of the game takes place indoors. the city is just a small bonus.

No two handed swing and now this, I can only hope there's a Crackdown three that does new types of traversal.
We can only hope there is a Crackdown 3, period.
Best Spiderman game continues to be Just Cause 2.
Watching the Spiderman video made me realize Ryan/Patrick quick looks are the worst. Patrick isn't interesting and Ryan being terrible at games makes for a bad combination.
Haven't watched it yet, so any time stamp for when he is actually playing the game and not sitting on a menu?
Yes, it's a big deal, because the web swinging in this looks totally uninvolved, and frankly fucking awful. There's clearly no skill involved, no depth, and no possibility of finesse to the swinging. You just hold a button, and Spidey swings from the clouds. It's supposed to be a bit challenging and take some effort, because that's how things end up feeling meaningful and rewarding. In this game it's clearly just a stylish but wholly uninvolved means of getting you from point A to point B. Again, fucking awful, and I seriously get pissed off when I think about how they decided to ruin this otherwise rather promising game with this bullshit. Had it had SM2-like swinging, I'd most likely have bought it. Now there's no way in hell I'll be doing that.Is this really a big deal? A lot of the people in the chat are complaining about this too.

I think you should go replay SM 2 because I think you're overestimating how 'in depth' SM 2's swinging is. Is it better than most? Yeah, but you're acting like it's competitive SC2 play or somethingYes, it's a big deal, because the web swinging in this looks totally uninvolved, and frankly fucking awful. Quick Look: The Amazing Spider-Man: (Patrick/Ryan, 47:15)
Seeing as I didn't see an archive link posted. I seriously thought that was the voice of Sonic as Spidey- turns out it's the new Teddie from P4A and P4G.

I placed the voice as Donatello from the 2005 4KIDS TMNT cartoon.

I'm really mixed on this game, the swinging in particular.
I had thought that the only difference between Spider-Man 2 and this was cloud swinging. Boy, was I wrong. This is web slinging for babies. Point where you want to go and hold down Right Trigger. That's it. You can go from one side of Manhattan to the other with your eyes closed if you hold down RT. You can't even fall and hit the ground if you let go. Spidey will just web at the last second and gracefully land. It's simple to the point of removing involvement. I don't feel like I'm the one swinging like I do in Spider-man 2. The only comparison I can think of is Asassin's Creed, where you can hold down RT and run through an environment. But the difference there is that the environment is diverse and while any way will work, there's an optimal path or a path that's a little bit more challenging, one that you might fail. There is no way to fail in ASM's webslinging. And as a result, no way to feel like you've really succeeded at something.
I really wish I could think up some bear/spider man puns, but I got nothing.
Fuck yeah Jeff plays as a RAcast. He knows what's up.Quick Look: Phantasy Star Online 2 Beta (Jeff/Brad - 54:40)

Spiderman looks to have the same problem as arkham city. The camera is way too close to the main character. Not game breaking, but annoying.
