They should've put the stylus closer to the front or the back and put in a bigger battery.

I was one step away from getting an 3DS back in May. Thank got I haven't, now I will get the 3DS XL day one. Zelda and Mario, I'm comming :P

Probably because that it's in ten languages or something equally as daft. With no charger, there's no need to worry about different SKUs for different countries (e.g. you can't plug in a UK charger into a French electrical socket). As such, there's probably only 1 SKU for the whole of Europe.

It's probably just a wall charger catalogue.

And here we have another difference in the Eurogamer preview where they claim it's double the battery life, and Kezza claims 30 extra minutes only. I'll trust Kezza since it's more in line with what Nintendo claims.

Thinking of trading my 3DS and getting the blue one when it comes out. I'm a sucker for big screens, though a bit worried the size of the system itself... I mean, will I be able to store in my back pocket?? (Serious question lol I tend to walk around the mall while streetpass is activated).

Same thickness as 3DS, and doesn't look that much wider/taller. About vita sized, so perhaps not back pocket. But then I'm not sure the normal 3DS would be.

Italian carry all in your future or yea man purse! :P

I'm not worried about size as mine would get 99.9% playtime in my house. My mobile gaming device of choice is the iPhone as the games are so in and out small burst friendly.

It is in-line with Nintendo's claims. However, Ninty claimed 3 hours on the original 3DS, and I definitely don't get that with medium brightness.

The Vita can fit in my pockets, but I don't put it in them, due to the screen being exposed. That's one reason I have always found the nintendo handhelds lately a lot more portable and pocket friendly.

Just to make sure. Have they said if the 3DS XL will show 3DS games clearly and not simply stretch them out and make them look fuzzy, etc? I thought it was suppose to be the same on the inside just simply bigger. Assumed that would mess with the video.

They don't strecht, it's the same resolution. Bigger pixels.

This thing is getting some great previews. Sadly I day one'd the 3DS and don't have the money to upgrade. Quite honestly I'm not entirely satisfied with it and the XL looks like quite the upgrade. I'm tempted to trade my 3DS in and buy one of these once the price drops a bit in a year or so...

I feel exactly the same about my 3DS. I only have two games for it; Ocarina of Time 3D, and Mario Kart 7. I bought Super Mario Land 3D, but sold it after beating all the "main" worlds, as I thought it was incredibly overrated (it's a good game, but not great; it lacks any real imagination/creativity compared to most other Mario games, especially the Mario Galaxies). However, the thing that disappoints me most about the 3DS is the system itself; the battery life is abysmal, I find it generally uncomfortable to hold, and the screens are too small. For those reasons, I simply don't enjoy playing it much, even though I have tons of Ambassador/Virtual Console games.

The DSi XL spoiled me, and the 3DS failed to live up to that. The 3DS XL looks like it will be a carbon copy of the DSi XL, which is fine by me. Also, I've pre-ordered Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy, as I enjoyed the demo, and it's quite cheap. I now can't wait until the 3DS XL is out, as I think I'll finally start to enjoy the system.

I'm selling my DSi XL on eBay now, and as soon as I get the 3DS XL and transfer my downloadable games to it, I'll be selling my original 3DS. I'm hoping that those will both cover the cost of the 3DS XL completely, or at least very nearly.

Don't worry, you're not the only one who thought 3D Land was completely boring.

I'm glad the Eurogamer article brought the system back down to earth for me. Potential 3D sweet spot issues and a couple other tiny quirks make it easier to wait for a color I'm more interested in.
I'm lying to myself. :(

On topic these unboxings are really nice. Now I just need them in blue and red...
I don't trust unboxings anymore after the Aqua Blue looking completely different in person. =\

yeah man, no hard feelings.

i'm gonna heal your soul with some private unboxing pics of the silver edition.

fakeedit:

no, really!
But I don't want silver! :v

Yeah, Aqua Blue was a disgusting color imo. Should have been Cobalt Blue instead :/

Also does anyone know how replacement shells work? I heard a few people mebtion those in the thread already. Is it basically just replacing the systems plastic covers with replicas of different colors?

"We're not allowed to turn it on, but that's Nintendo for ya." Sounds like they received direct instructions from Nintendo that they can't show it in motion on video.

Which actually makes perfect sense because the screen is guaranteed to look like ass compared to what it actually looks like unless you're shooting on a super expensive camera.

I doubt people are hoping to see fine video quality. I assume many like myself are just interested in seeing it turned on next to a regular 3DS running the same game to get an idea for how much bigger it is. Especially DS 1:1 and non 1:1 modes.

Looked pretty good in that handy-cam footage a few pages back. Think the video's in the OP

I just realized. Same month as Sleeping Dogs, Darksiders 2, Persona 4 Arena, and Transformers for this thing then i'll have to buy Dream Drop too

Why you do this to me, nintendo

You know you don't have to buy everything when it launches right? Every one of those games, except P4 Arena, will be bomba priced within six weeks of launch

I would buy a black, white or purple one in a heartbeat. I mean, I wouldn't even think about it at all :^(
Just buy a red and a blue one, then cross your eyes.

Or buy a blender.
