Why would Real give away Higuan, their second best goal scorer for Modric, who more than likely won't even start? It makes such little sense. If it's a genuine offer though Spurs should snap their hand off and send Modric away. Then buy Moutinho. Then win big.

Well it's not like there are only two defined roles for a midfielder to have: attacking or defending.

Real play many, many games over the year given the amount of competitions they're in, and it would be unrealistic to rely entirely on Xabi Alonso to play every game.

I personally haven't seen the news show up anywhere, so I'm not sure where Kyoufu got it from and it's probably bullshit anyway, like 90% of transfer gossip. It's still an interesting proposition though.

I could see a straight swap happening, if they also had plans to bring in another striker (Agüero). Otherwise, they'd be getting screwed if they used Higuain in a part exchange.

WTF is this Mancini to Russia BS?!

Real will not get Aguero, not yet anyway. City will have him for his best years, I'm confident of it.

I just mentioned Agüero since he's been Real's target for some time, and he's one of the few strikers that could be considered better than Higuain. I'm not claiming it's happening, just saying, if they had someone like Agüero lined up, that would be the only instance I could see Higuain being moved out in order to bring in Modric.

From twitter:

"RUMOUR: Huge if true; Arsenal have accepted a Barcelona £13m + David Villa bid for Robin Van Persie"

Lol... bullshit. Not only is David Villa in a class above RVP, but to trade him AND 13m for another injury-prone striker, only a few years younger? Nah.

I forgot who was thinking about getting a Galaxy S III in here but I just got mine and LOVE it.

Definitely would recommend. 16GB Pebble blue with a 8GB SD and a 2 GB Dropbox cloud. Doubt I'll fill them all up and the phone is very fast and responsive.

Yeah I'm thinking of getting one. Or iPhone 5 (would prefer to get an iPhone :/)

RVP to Barca is 6/1 odds....... ugggghhhhhhhhhh

From whose twitter exactly?

@AFC_Times

They say it'll be announced in the next 48 hours......... lol

Vertonghen contract dispute finally over. He's off to London while Ajax play a friendly today without him. Should be training with Spurs on Monday.

Never owned an Apple device and had a Galaxy S Captivate prior to the S3 so take that as is.

Just watched a review of the phone. Man. So good.

That and the One X are the top Android phones out right now. They make the wait for iPhone 5 unbearable.

Are you training at the new facility? If so, any pictures?

Apparently it won't be ready till the end of July, I thought we'd already left Spurs Lodge. Once we come back from our tour of America I guess we move in.

Great signing. Spurs probably have the best set of CB's in the league now?
Definitely not.

I'd have Skrtel and Agger over any Vertonghen + Spurs CB you want to produce.

Plus we haven't even seen Vertonghen in the Premier League, in AVB's system.

There's potential there for the future though because I really rate Caulker, if he continues his progress and Vertonghen brings his form over from Ajax, then maybe.

Ah ok. Genuinely looking forward to seeing it.

"England's hottest property" lol.

I've honestly never understood Madrid's interest in Modric. With the players they already have, and the price it would cost, it just never made sense to me.

Definitely not.

I meant as a collective. I think Skrtel and Agger are a better partnership (although perhaps debatable as individuals), but past that we lack depth.

Younes Kaboul is at least as good as those two. Hopefully Vertonghen is like Agger without the injuries.

I think in terms of depth, Kaboul, Dawson, Vertonghen, Caulker and Gallas, is up there.

Collectively, yes, I agree, there's far more depth at Spurs. I wouldn't have Kaboul over either Skrtel or Agger, at all.

Having Google Chrome on a phone is awesome. It is so fast. I decided against the One X just because the fixed battery. Thats just something that'll need to be replaced eventually for a large price.

Why do I get the feeling I made a huge mistake betting on RVP to City?

Plus the storage is awesome. Not many phones let you add your own sd card.

Dammit, don't tempt me to get one :P

It's Real. They don't buy players they need, they buy players they feel like buying at that very moment.

Heh, even De Jong's move to Monchengladbach is in jeopardy. De Jong is pissed off with FC Twente for his price inflation over the last week or so. He's called out the president and has pretty much slammed the club. I wonder how this would affect his role at the club if they don't sell him. Even Monchengladbach aren't ready to jump up to 16m either.

Newcastle were reportedly willing to pay £12 million up front for the highly-rated 21-year-old Netherlands international, but Munsterman has now raised the asking price to £16m.

De Jong insists this is considerably higher than the fee that had previously been agreed with Monchengladbach.

“I fell off my chair when I heard Joop Munsterman,” admitted De Jong to De Telegraaf.

“That amount is in complete contradiction with the conversation that took place this week between Twente and Borussia Monchengladbach, and with my father George and agent Louis Laros.”

He added: “I was amazed to hear this. FC Twente, my agent Louis Laros and Borussia Monchengladbach indicated that a transfer fee of €12m (£9.6m) plus €2m (£1.6m) in bonuses, would do, if I agreed with FC Twente to drop my contracted right to 20 per cent of the transfer fee.

“I have already indicated that I will drop my claim to 20% of the transfer fee, if a move to Borussia Monchengladbach is possible. I am not concerned just about the money. But for FC Twente, this is no longer sufficient for them to agree to a transfer.”

De Jong's anger was evident when he continued: "The president said that players should get a fair chance, but the reality is different. I had heard from other players that the board of Twente negotiates in an indecent manner, and I never believed it. Now, unfortunately I have experienced this myself.

"Gladbach will be a new level for me and it's where I want to develop further, in view of the Dutch national team. All my competitors for the striker position in Oranje play in foreign clubs in strong leagues."

I guess I'm not too fussed now as Newcastle are staying firm by not bending over to that retarded club. Neither are Monchengladbach.

He doesn't want to come here anyway. He says he wants to go to Bundesliga. :(

They're bringing out a DIY kit to replace batteries one the One X/S. According to me dad, anyway.

You can bet your rubber ducky he'd have "loved to have joined such a club like Newcastle Untied" had we agreed a fee with FC Twente. Monchengladbach are/were in the driving seat though, despite our superior offer. From a logical stand point, Germany would be the best next step for him anyway.

Whatever happens, best of luck to him, and a shape he's being priced out by a silly club.

I just want to know what strikers we have a legitimate chance of getting. Not many out there who are young, talented and decently priced. If I see any comments about has-beens, 25 year old ineffective shitefucks who have scored no goals in 4 years or 16 year old "who the fuck are they" nobodies, I will run over Pardew when he's hitting the town with Mike Ashley.

Guidetti should be our likely target. Won't cost too much and he's young with bags of talent.

He's not the smartest kid on the block though.

I don't think Spurs' CB 4 is the best in the league outright yet. It's good but in Kompany and Lescott I think City have 2 very good CB's. Liverpool have 2 very good ones aswell and I think United's with Vidic back is still quite strong.

Good to see Spurs signing players where they need them though. Excited to see Vertonghen in the PL and how he adapts.

Spurs signing an Eredivisie CB (albeit a talented one) + Younes Kaboul does not in any stretch give them the best pairing in the league. Right now, as you said, that goes to Kompany + Lescott. Next would have to be Squillaci + Djourou.

I find the 'Tom Cleverley: Ready to Shine' more hilarious, personally.

Me too.

I'm getting a bit worried that there could be something in this Mancini to Russia thing.

He's in his last season of contract and he's not signed a new one, even though they have been discussing it since the end of the season. Mancini has been critical of the way City have handed transfers in the past. We've not signed anyone yet... Are we waiting for the manager to be tied down? Man I'm getting paranoid!

Also the source which says its done have now said City will get £16m compo.

I very much doubt Mancini is in any hurry to leave City.

Although it will be no great loss if he does go. He's not the man to bring City to the Champions League final.

Nani says he wants to stay and his agent is in talks with United over a new contract.

twitter rumours United and Porto have agreed a deal for Moutinho at £25m and it's up to the player to decide between Spurs and United

Wouldn't be surprised if Moutinho chooses Spurs. Link up with AVB again plus can slot straight in as a replacement for Modric. With Man Utd, he'd have to contend with Kagawa, Carrick, etc.
