Stuff like this is turning mmagaf into sherdog 2.0
Your douchebag champion everyone. But it's cool cause he said this sport is important.
Nah just look at what Kizer said about him. Silva is never going to fight in Nevada again. The UFC won't risk him being banned for breaking rules.
Just read it. He tried to grease, the shoulder bump, blatant holding of the shorts. I'm guessing Dana didn't mention any of this and kept saying 'greatest fighter of all time' every two minutes?
Anderson Silva is so good that only he could shatter the myth of Anderson Silva. He wants to fight his clone, but his image as the greatest champion of all time is already fighting the greased up, shorts grabbing cheater inside him.Your douchebag champion everyone. But it's cool cause he said this sport is important.
Real 185 Champ Rock Lukehold said:[Silva] greased himself again, Rockhold continued. After the Vitor [Belfort] fight I saw him grease himself. I wasnt very fond of that first one. He did it again, blatantly. And then the shorts grab. And then finally the knee, it ended up legal, but it looked like bad intentions.
He also believes a champion should set a good example and states that Andersons performance was not very champion-like
All that together, it just wasnt very champion-like for me, Rockhold concluded. I want to see a respectful champion out there. I know emotions might get high with all the crap talking, but you gotta keep those separate and gotta fight clean.
At least Keith Kizer sees through the myth.

He didn't "break" Silva in the first round though. Yeah, Silva couldn't get back up because Sonnen's top control is so good, but he didn't hurt him. Silva just rode out the round and did a good job tying Sonnen up and protecting his face. The whole first round, I was thinking about what Anderson said at the countdown show. Something along the lines of "yeah, you took me down and beat me up for five rounds Chael, good job, but that's nothing. You didn't win."
People really think that made a difference? Chael still put him down 10 seconds on the fight and proceeded to stay on top of him doing almost nothing for 4 minutes and a half.
Didn't you know? Vaseline only starts working 6 minutes after you rub it on. That is why shale could not take Andy down in the second round. All part of the plan.
Its interesting if you go back and watch the second round again and watch how effective his grabbing of the shorts were and you can see that is the exact point when the momentum switched.. up until that point Chael was again controlling Anderson very effectively.
Right at 4:10 of the second Chael transitions to a takedown and Anderson grabs his shorts and pulls him to try and negate the takedown then on the break he keeps holding the shorts and getting in a shot till 3:52 almost 20 seconds he was holding the shorts.
After that Chael got sloppy trying to push harder and get back in the clinch and thats when it all fell apart.
Anderson beat him from that point on..but the whole change happened due to Anderson effectively cheating and getting away with it.
Grats to the GOAT he's a badass..sleazy..but still a baddass
They both showed their true colors in the end. Quite a twist, isn't it?
Anderson is a man who pretends to be some kind of honor-bound martial artist outside of the cage, who in fact a dirty player inside of it. Chael has proven himself to be a showman who conducts himself with class when the time to promote the fight is over.
I really doubt that grabbing the shorts helped Anderson avoid a takedown, but I do think that small injury on Chael's nose was inflicted with the punch Anderson hit him while he was grabbing the short.
So yeah, it was bad sportsmanship, but fighters do that all the time including Sonnen, many times it's instinct. He hit the back of Anderson's head on the first round, I don't think it was intentional but he hit it.
Jose Aldo grabbed the fence when Chad Mendes almost took him down remember? I still think Aldo would have won that fight, but probably not on the first round. That kind of stuff happens all the time, it's business as usual. The only difference is that people were much more invested on this fight.
Some stone cold truth right there. Bit like Fedor and his rope grabbing.

But let's not deflect from the subject at hand. There's a reason why people don't like Anderson. It's the same reason why a lot of people do not like Bones. He comes off as someone who is holier-than-thou when he's been proven to be a walking contradiction of what he claims to be.
Chael is licensed to use TRT by the NSAC. He was suspended for not properly reporting his needed and now medically cleared usage.
I guess we can open the can of worms as to why people are so up in arms about certain performance enhancing activities when so many of them are deemed legal. Guess what, friends? Anderson takes a cocktail of drugs each and every day to be the best fighter he can be.

Get it all out of your system, Heel. lol, my God. People really are fucking salty.
When did the truth becomes saltiness?

People find reasons to hate every fighter. You act like Silva is hated more than the average fighter or something. He isn't. I bet more people hate Chael and Jones.
Anderson doesn't misrepresent himself. He hardly talks shit at all and he backs up all the things he does say in the ring. What else matters? Silva doesn't act holier than thou. You project that on to him because you want to see him lose. The best chance of that happening just got TKO'd. I'd be mad too.
That is what Chael Sonnen likes to repeat (at least one of the versions he liked to repeat.) But from what I recall from that hearing, they basically didn't really get anywhere and just decided to reduce the suspension. He was never proven 'innocent' on anything and both Kizer and Dodd has said he has lied and continued to lie regarding TRT and how he handled the commission.Chael is licensed to use TRT by the NSAC. He was suspended for not properly reporting his needed and now medically cleared usage.
pretty much when brock lesnar opened up MMA to the general masses, the new generation of MMA aficionado's is upon us, and its fault lies squarely on his shoulders ;-)
My favorite fighters don't misrepresent themselves, even if they are cheaters. That I can respect.
Nope. Let's just let them do it openly. I want juiced up guys that are bigger, faster, and stronger.I really wish there was a huge expose on PED's in the UFC, I bet a lot of peoples favourite fighters are on the juice.
LOL how stupidly ironic of you to say because I would say Sonnen's wwe bullshit brought in more than Brock.
Plus I love how people in here love to pull the card thinking that everyone that has a differing view must be a noob of some sort.
I would not be surprised if there are not many many more posters who have lurked in the MMA threads for quite some time but can not stomach the inane knuckle dragging asshattery that people spew constantly.
Luckily people come out of troll mode enough to keep it interesting before slipping back into it, but it still gets tedious.
I do not know about anyone else but my first UFC experience was watching Kimo getting caught by Royce and Shamrock at UFC 3 on shitty VHS.
Actually thinking back, I wonder how many fighters these days could actually handle the tourney format with no weight classes.

These threads have become a lot more bearable since I put Heel, Chamber and Yacobod on my ignore list. Now if I could only stop other people from quoting them.
That would be like blanking out Jerry,George,Elaine and Kramer and saying Sienfield is better with just the supporting cast..i just can't even image a world like that.

The community has gone to shit.

In his sworn testimony, Sonnen claimed to have been previously approved for TRT by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), and to have spoken directly to NSAC's Executive Director, Keith Kizer, who informed him he was approved for TRT and should not again disclose the treatment on the pre-bout medical disclosure statements required by the NSAC. He said he believed this advice about disclosure also applied to the forms of other state athletic commissions.
Keith Kizer publicly responded to Sonnen's testimony, claiming the NSAC had never approved Sonnen for TRT, Sonnen had never applied for the approval process, and he had "never talked to Chael Sonnen in [his] life." At a subsequent meeting between the UFC, Sonnen and the NSAC, Kizer asked Sonnen about his testimony at the December 2, 2010 CSAC hearing. According to Kizer, Sonnen initially deflected his questions but, when pressed further, admitted no conversation between Kizer and himself had occurred. Sonnen explained "My manager and you talked about therapeutic exemptions, and therefore, I just used the wrong word. I should have said 'my' instead of 'I.' As in 'my manager' instead of 'I'". Kizer called this a "strange story" and a "ridiculous explanation" Kizer acknowledged speaking with Sonnen's manager (Matt Lindland) about TRT, but said the conversation concerned only the procedure itself, not the application of any particular fighter.
CSAC Executive Director George Dodd has also contradicted Sonnen's testimony, stating the CSAC has no documentary evidence of Sonnen ever being approved for TRT.
Stephie Daniels: What about a case like Chael Sonnen's, where he has stated that hypogonadism is the root of his need for a TUE?
Dr. Benjamin: Was Chael Sonnen a big time collegiate wrestler? Yes he was. I'm going to opine and say to you, there's no way in the world you get to the level of collegiate wrestling that Chael Sonnen was at, with hypogonadism. Let me explain to you why. Hypogonadism means that the testes did not produce enough testosterone for one to normally mature. He wasn't on TRT as a teenager. He became this big, muscled up monster and NCAA wrestler with hypogonadism? Hell no.
The truth of the matter is, you could never get to that level, because you're not going to have the muscle mass and strength to get you there. They're going to run you over. Your body will not allow you to develop enough muscle and strength to compete at your size. If he has hypogonadism, it's from one thing, and one thing only, because he treated himself with steroids in the past, and wrecked his testes. That's it.
What community? I've never even seen half you people post in mma gaf so how the fuck would you know that the 'community' has gone to shit. You people post twice a year when bones or silva fight in a seperate thread and then pretend you're the authority on the gaf mma community. You wanna know what goes to shit? Every thread that the rest of you post in. YOU have gone to shit. The rest of us are actually having a great time.
