The bump actually started a new page. Bravo :p

I'm sure Warner Bros heads are drooling at the idea of teasing Superman before the Batman movie. If it doesn't happen, I woud think it was due to a technical and not business related reason.

Well it is a perfect fit. the first teaser for WB's biggest film for next year in front of their biggest film for this year. What else do WB have coming out this year that they could stick it n front of?

the hobbit probably.
I expect a teaser in front of TDKR and full trailer with the hobbit.

FUCK YOU MAN... every time this gets bumped I die inside :)

But anyway.... Its very likely we will get a teaser from SDCC and it will be attached to TDKR. There has been no official word though. The movie is still a year away.

sorry bro. :( I hate it when a thread is bumped with no info too, but with Rises only a few days away I thought there might be news or rumor of a trailer/teaser attached.

It really is the perfect fit. I've heard of there being a new Hobbit trailer attached to Rises, so a short 30 second teaser for MoS would be perfect.

pretty sure its a fake. i think the head is taken from one of the "immortals" posters/images.
his hair and the suit also look very different compared to the photos we have seen.

WB might have had questionable marketing for TDKR (reusing TDK poses for new posters) but even they can't be stupid enough to NOT include something for Superman.

I expect at least a teaser, if not a full length trailer with TDKR. Maybe full trailer #2 with the Hobbit in December.

Remember movie wrapped a while back. It was supposed to be out this fall but was pushed backed to avoid competing with their other, and bigger, franchise the Hobbit. So from now till next summer they can hopefully fine tune the effects. A trailer should be ready.

Full Hobbit Trailer in front of one billion dollar picture with Superman Teaser.

Full Superman trailer in front of their 2nd billion dollar picture.

Just makes too much sense.

If they could make a full sized teaser like Returns, which was epic. Good for them. If not, even something like The Dark Knight with just playing audio bits would get people hyped.

Oh shit, that is fake.

The release date on the poster, 06. 14. 13, is on a Sunday.

Also, his suit looks nothing like the ones we've seen already from the set pics.

Agreed. Honestly, they don't need any actual footage either. Just some voiceover, and then a shot of the new Superman emblem. Something to get Superman in the audience's minds.

Maybe that would have applied to Superman Returns but not now. They need to show that this isn't another ponderous retread of the original film.

With all the damn time they have to make this movie, and the year-long post-production period it has, if they don't show any footage in the teaser I'll be slightly annoyed.

Which is why they need to show the radically different emblem, and show how alien it looks. All I'm saying is they don't need to do anything big.

That would be pretty damn terrible considering how much of a bomb Returns was. They need something big. Obviously it won't be as amazing as Returns teaser was, but they need something more than Batman logo flash with voiceover if they want to hook people early on and set this apart from the Donner films.

i'm really looking forward to this. My girlfriend has been a fan of cavill's since tudors. Unlike a lot of people I don't have a problem with zack snyder or how he uses slow mo. I think cavill looks great as superman, and I'm excited to get an action packed superman movie. I was actually thinking while I was watching the avengers, and watching the big 45 minute action sequence, and thinking that it would be perfect for a superman movie.

Yeah, I want something different from Snyder and with Nolan on his shoulder, hopefully we all leave comic-con amazed.

I'm hoping, having read action comics for nearly a year now, that the plot of this new superman movie follows the more sensible portions of that comic rather then just simply having supes vs lex again.

Instead focus on the kryptonian origins of superman and brainiac and then have superman save metropolis from brainiacs early invasion force, save lex for a sequel but even then I'd rather he team up with someone or something then just go it solo again. Superman is a superpowered being- he should be fighting superpowered villians.

I like the Zach Snyder movies, Dawn of the Dead and Watchmen, so I have faith in him to do a proper Superman movie.

He gets lots of hate, some deserved, but he's obviously a god action director with some really good visual ideas. If he keeps it tight and focused, it could be great.

I still think the best possible Superman movie synopsis looks like this:

Bad guy shoots superman in eye with chain gun. WHAT HAPPENS?
Superman catches a falling jetliner. WHAT HAPPENS?
Hulk shows up out of nowhere in crossover. WHAT HAPPENS?
Superman fights an angry planet. WHAT HAPPENS?
Superman flies into sun at lightspeed. WHAT HAPPENS?

Etc. No plot please. Then we don't have to worry about how boring his character is.

The villain for this one will be Zod

Snyder can get Supes to punch stuff, and that's great, but does it get the inspirational love he has for humanity? When all hope is lost, Superman will save us.

This is what I want. I want the interesting bits of Superman. Not just the "I will fight big evil thing" that others seem to be hoping for. I mean, I'd be all for a Bizzaro movie, but that's not who Supes is.

The single best moment in "All Star Superman." I just love that page.

People seem to be hoping for that cause that's all they think Superman is. I really do hope the movie gets into showing who Superman is as a person instead of just being big action scenes.

Zack Snyder's movies are entertaining but mostly soulless. I'm worried his Superman will only dazzle without instilling an emotional reaction in the audience.

Jonathan Nolan, save us.

And Cavill, please don't act like a tough guy. Superman isn't a tough guy, he's an invincible boy scout.

Returns wasn't so much of a bomb (like, say, John Carter) as it was a film-fart. It happened, it was fairly unpleasant, and shortly after everyone forgot about it and moved on.

And Cavill, please don't act like a tough guy. Superman isn't a tough guy, he's an invincible boy scout.

There have been countless times in Superman canon where he's been the toughest motherfucker in all the DCU, it's not like he only saves kittens from trees.

Super man can very much be a tough guy if pushed towards it. People are clamoring for an action packed superman movie, because thats exactly the kind of movie superman needs. Particularly if they want to keep making movies about him. A lot of people find superman irrelevant. I think a big portion of that is with so many of his movies pitting him against lex luthor where he can't really use his powers and have to go all out. Even in superman 2 he was depowered for a good portion of the film. Superman should be part of a great action movie franchise in this day and age. Thats not to say that you can't balance him being badass, with his compassion either. Thats perfectly doable and is a great thing about his character. Just because we want a movie with superman being badass doesn't mean we don't want him to still be compassionate. I understand the concern about it though. I would love to see superman in a live action movie really pushed psychologically by a physically intimidating enemy.

SDCC Man of Steel panel is on the 14th at 2:30. So we will be getting news and leaks soon. Followed by a teaser with The Dark Knight Rises (HOPEFULLY) next week.

I could have told you day one that a Snyder product would be a shitty product, WB!

The Wachowskis would have been a slam dunk for this. Such an obvious choice.
