Henry Cavill is the new Superman

So it begins. What did Nolan and the WB expect? I still don't get why the Nolan brothers didn't do this themselves.

They are both kinda done with superheroes from the sounds of it.

Well, I hope thats just a rumor. I don't want to see my hometown associated with a POS film.

I could have told you day one that a Snyder product would be a shitty product, WB!

The Wachowskis would have been a slam dunk for this. Such an obvious choice.

I can't even cite Speed Racer's box office to refute this because Snyder's last three movies were duds :lol

It's 2012, not 2002. Wachowskis aren't even an obvious choice for Assassins 2 at this point.

How long til this gets delayed 6 months for extensive reshoots and we find out Nolan is doing them as Snyder has been let go?

Snyder can get Supes to punch stuff, and that's great, but does it get the inspirational love he has for humanity? When all hope is lost, Superman will save us.

you know, i really would love to see a superman movie that is basically two hours of this.

*edit* i'm just gonna stop posting for the night. i'm writing like shit.

Of course, this is all just gossip. I'm sure we'll all leave Comic Con impressed with Man of Steel footage.

I fear for Superman... This is NOT the time for him to fail :/ I feel like the character is slipping from relevancy.
There's long been wholly unfounded speculation that Warner Bros is diminishing the cultural and media relevance of the Superman franchise in an attempt to devalue the character, because of the ongoing legal battle with Toberoff and the Siegel/Schuster estates.

Of course Nolan is disappointed, probably has too much legit action of Supes fucking shit up. Nolan don't know about that action.

I guess the good news is that if this tanks it will be the final nail in Snyder's theatrical coffin and he can go back to music videos or whatever he was doing before he brought the slo-mo plague on us.

Synder is a horrible action director. I'd take Inception action over Snyders' "okay he starts to throw a punch and...

I wouldn't put any stock into whatever gets shown at CC anyways. Movie could be shit on a stick and they could still cut an amazing promo for it (ala SR). Or it could actually turn out to be good and maybe the promo they show underwhelms. Either way, I won't be putting much into it.

Next summer. Plenty of time for reshoots and/or studio edit hatchet work.

This movie is about to get the ASM treatment.

FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK NO. ASM got hacked to hell because of a studio with cold feet, Superman can't afford to do the same, especially after failing one reboot.

Comic Con exclusive footage is just four minutes of Superman punching Zod in the face. Once.

Revolutionary ripple effects on Zod's cheeks will be applied to really bring excitement to the unprecedented four minute long punch.

He's a producer, he'd still be privy to screening cuts of the film.

Yes, I know he is a producer. Nolan has said many times however that his main point of work involved in helping getting the script up and running... He left the production over a year ago.

It’s Zack’s movie so it’d be a bit rude of me to turn up and say I’ve got a few ideas now,” laughs the director when talk turned to his involvement with Man of Steel. “My big point of responsibility was helping shepard David’s script. When I’m finished with this I’ll be there for whatever Zack wants from me, but it’s very much his movie.”
