Alfred finally got his fantasy. But up until that moment he was sure Bruce was dead, right? The grave scene confirms that. I just wouldn't be able to get up and go like that. Bruce is like a son to him.

What about Bruce's fortune disappearing. How does that happen? If the stock exchange was infiltrated right now, wouldn't they just freeze trading? That part didn't sit well with me at all.

Oh, and I actually liked The Bat. Fancy that.

However, I was seriously bummed by NO TUMBLER FOR BATMAN :_(

Yeah that was odd.. but I guess they figured it had enough presence in the film.

I did like that the Bat-pod got a lot more.. flexible in this film.

Actually, the NY part was the most jarring. I was actually thinking back to the first movie of how they talked about the Narrows and sealed off part of Gotham, whereas now the entirety of Gotham is an island!
An island with the World Trade Center on it. They did a really bad job of hiding that it was New York.

I don't know. Maybe someone really familiar with Chicago thought the same thing about TDK. I've only been to Chicago once and recognised a lot of places in that movie.

Yeah, this too. Even if trading wasn't frozen, they weren't any logs that showed all this suspicious activity in Bruce Wayne's name happened when an armed raid was going on, when the thugs were at the computer, and no one saw Wayne there?

Yeah, I'd have like another Tumbler for Batman. But I guess he didn't have the time to grab one of those too, before the shit hit the fan. Thankfully he had grabbed The Bat, cause who knows how anyone could stop Bane when he'd have his own super helicopter.

Yes, Alfred believes him to be dead. From there, I can fanwank it to say that Bruce keeps tabs on Alfred, and deliberately appears with Selina in that cafe when Alfred next goes to Florence.

Felt very... Rocky V-ish.

Ugh.

Why did I type that?

I do however agree that the Talia reveal was pretty damn close to a character assassination for Bane. A major part of his character that was hyped up was that he climbed out of the hole as a child and he is both a mastermind and a beast. Not only does Talia undercut his cunning (because the plan was more Talia's than Bane's) but since he didn't climb out of the hole himself it makes him more human and vulnerable than he first appeared in the movie.

I think the whole Talia reveal was kind of ridiculous. The entire movie Bane was being hyped as being as strong as he was because of that backstory. Then we find out that's all bullshit and applies to Talia instead; who by the way never really shows any sort of fighting skills in the entire movie.

Don't even need to do that.

He's Batman, of course he can appear anywhere he needs to at a moment's notice. Next question!

I really enjoyed the end. I kept thinking throughout, "Man, JGL would be an awesome Robin."

Then the will scene. Then the cave scene. So good.

Exactly how I felt. I really hope JGL gets a chance at it. Dude is a great actor and deserves to be "bigger" than he is now

Because he was! They tell you this, multiple times. He's been retired for years at that point.

No, you're missing my point -- and probably my previous posts. Bruce Wayne/Batman was pretty much out of character (edit: in and out of the context of the movie) in comparison to the end of TDK. To me, it's not believable that Batman quits after the Dark Knight speech, amongst other things.

So, what's up with Bane's mouthpiece. I didn't understand it in the movie, explain?

Keeps the pain away.

I totally forgot about Selina at that point. Good for Bruce and her. It felt weird that he'd be with another woman on such short notice but now it makes sense.

I thought the same thing. It made sense in TDK, when no matter who he was talking to, if he was in the suit, he used the voice. IE, when he was talking to Lucious in the Sonar Computer room.

I just think he's completely and utterly dedicated to being that symbol when he's in the costume.

It makes infinitely more sense that Bruce knew Alfred would be there than to believe it was all a coincidence. That's preposterous even in this series.

Anyone else catch (and love) Bane's tear? When Bruce had destroyed him, then Talia stabbed Bruce and told her tale, Bane was crying.

I feel like that's any an easy answer for any question one might have for this movie:

How did he survive the blast? He's Batman.

How did he get all the way back to Gotham? He's Batman.

How did he know to be at that place the same time as Alfred? He's Batman.

1) How come Gotham went from being 'monorail Wayne Tower fantasy city' in the first film to CLEARLY Chicago in the second to CLEARLY New York in the 3rd?

2) Bane could just have used Hans Zimmer's horn and percussion sections to destroy the city.

3) Every time Anne Hathaway smiled it looked like they'd re-cast the Joker

4) Somehow Bruce has a limp for eight years that witch-doctor Alfred could fix in five minutes?

5) Why would Bruce have a picture of ugly Maggie Rachel instead of the hot Katie Rachel?

6) For a second time on screen, Bane, the biggest badass villain in Batman comics, was a puppet for a lesser female character.

7) Every single character from the previous two movies returns (via flashbacks, hallucinations, cameos etc) yet nobody ever mentions the dude who is STILL ALIVE and did the same thing to the city 8 years ago.

8) That 'take the fall for Harvey Dent' thing sounded stupid and made no sense last movie and this was a movie about how it was stupid and made no sense.

9) Why was the entire cast of Inception here? In fact, why were there like 150 characters?

10) Robin is the freaking hero name. Maybe Superman Kent and Barry Flash should have appeared too.

I still enjoyed it, it's just the sillines doesn't match the tone.

1) Train line and wayne tower main rounded gothic elements of the cities architecture got blowed up in BB, Gotham is now Chicago, TDKR is awful Gotham is now New York.

2) continuously, over and over again

3) She seems like a very high strung lady.

4) Limping around with a cane completes his old man Wayne look, he wasn't planning on doing anything anyway

5) Katie Rachel married an alien psychopath and turned into a worker drone, she's getting divorced now.

6) That's Hollywood for you.

7) The actor died so the character can't even be mentioned, it would be insensitive (or some bullshit).

8) Pretty much.

9) If you have enough characters there's less need for a plot.

10) Criminal -"What are you?' Robin - "I'm Robin" but he is Robin, it's like a prank call, where the caller freezes up and gives his real name when asked "who is this?"

Anyone else catch (and love) Bane's tear? When Bruce had destroyed him, then Talia stabbed Bruce and told her tale, Bane was crying.

It was pretty much the only human thing he did in the film, the rest of it he was a total monster.

Props to Hardy for doing so much with so little of his face visible.

Yea I caught that (Bane shedding a tear). That basically was the final nail on the coffin in humanizing Bane during that whole scene.

So, what's up with Bane's mouthpiece. I didn't understand it in the movie, explain?

The prisoners said there was an epidemic of some sort and that the Doctor in the prison developed it for him. Without it, he feels a lot of pain.

Another weird explanation, I thought. They changed Bane around quite a bit from just being some juiced up muscle machine to being a non-juiced up muscle machine with a pain reducing breathing machine of some sort.

Subtle yet beautiful, especially because you could feel how much Bane really wanted to protect her, even after he was excommunicated. He really did care for her and it was clear she never forgot about him too.

...ok. Well, that's the explanation I got from the movie, and it still doesn't really explain it. What's Bane's deal? Nobody knows.

Not a lot of love for the supporting characters it seems.

But I don't think Bane, as good as he is could carry the movie as the sole villan.
You pretty much get his character right away. There is not much more he could do than what they showed. Plus he is not the most audible guy in the world so there would be a lot of awkwardness there.

I can't picture what this movie would be with just Bane and Batman, other than incredibly short.

Haha, that was awesome, and falls in line with what I was saying earlier: the prison sequence features a fair bit of unexpected, but appreciated, comedy. Also loved when the guy who had been muttering in whatever language suddenly started speaking english. The look on Bruce's face was priceless.

Need more viewings to confirm, but my initial thought is that the prison scene, from beginning to Rhas to Bruce climbing out of the pit to the chanting, was the best sequence in the film.

You know what I really would have liked? The scene in the Batcave when Bats fly around Blake, I was hoping there would be a zoomed out shot like in BB of Bruce, he had a similar wand in hand....That..would...have...been...perfect!

...ok. Well, that's the explanation I got from the movie, and it still doesn't really explain it. What's Bane's deal? Nobody knows.

I assumed it was feeding him anaesthetic gas. Notice he never seemed to feel any pain throughout the movie, no matter how much Batman attacked him. I assumed that was from natural resilience to pain (having lived with terrible pain for years) and the mask.

Remember he was left alone in the pit after his injuries by the other prisoners for a good while, so he spent the whole time in agony.
