Every picture of the 3DS XL I've been seeing reveals very yellow screens (warm temp). I'm not a fan of that at all.

can anyone take a side by side pic of a 3DS XL and a DSi side by side in 1:1 mode to give a size comparison for DS games.
I've never understood the idea behind that. Does anyone actually prefer yellow screens?
EDIT: I just realized that it's because it's easier on the eyes, isn't it? Kind of like using F.lux I guess.
Don't have pics sorry, but a quick calculation shows that 1:1 DS games on the 3DS XL are 2.6752 x 2.0064 inches whereas the DSi is 2.6 x 1.95 inches. The 3DSXL displays slightly bigger than the DSi in 1:1 mode.
I also used a ruler, and I can basically confirm, that the size is identical.
Beautiful. Thanks!I also used a ruler, and I can basically confirm, that the size is identical.
Woo got my Silver. Unfortunately the 3DS XL is refusing to connect to the Internet and so I can't do a system transfer. Been trying to find out wether the problem is the home hub or the XL and found nothing.
Beautiful. Thanks!
Could you also do a comparison of DSi XL and stretched DS games?
System update?
That's fine. Thanks anywaysUnfotrunately, I do not own a DSi XL. There is a photo of stretched pokemon on the previous page. To tell you the truth, I have never seen DSi XL, so I can't really comment on this matter. It looks ok for me, and I even think about playing Pokemon in stretched mode.
That's fine. Thanks anyways
Do you have any Ambassador or VC stuff you could show off in both 1:1 and stretched? Preferably next to a GBA/SP, as I believe the PPI is similar.

And again - nope. My GBA is broken and I don't have ambassador stuff.
Fun fact #2:
Man, those new shoulder buttons and ABXY ones. So good. I love this console <3.
Edit: Oh, and I can confirm that sound was set to surround. It's now much better after I changed it to stereo.

Since the size is identical, I assume the image and text are as sharp and crisp as in DS? The only thing that bothers me with my 3DS (especially in DQ9) is the blurred look in DS games. The 1:1 mode is just too small with the original 3DS, this could be a deal breaker for me to make the switch to XL.
@Ragus
How is the glare reduction, big difference?
So when you do a System Transfer, does it transfer EVERYTHING, including Activity Log? I am not giving up my Activity Log, I love the shit out of it. <3
It's a full clone, it's like your old system completely
Speaking of the glare reduction coating, is it inside the LCD cover or outside the LCD cover? If outside, will it scratch off over time, or peel/smear/flake away with cleaning?
Hmmmm...
Really not sure about upgrading due to the ppi, I even noticed it going from a ds lite to dsi.
How is the d-pad on the 3ds xl's?, is it actually better than the one on the original 3ds? because mine is awful.
And again - nope. My GBA is broken and I don't have ambassador stuff.

Ocarina Of Time 3D on XL looks just..

I have a really dumb question - but it makes sense to me - could you take pictures of your red unit under sunlight/outdoors? Warm? Cool lighting? It'd make my choice on color selection all the more clear...
Thank you for you already amazing pics and hands on impression. Enjoy your beautiful new XL! ^_^
So all 3DS games are downloadable now, right? So when I get my 3Dsxl I'll never have to purchase a cartridge? Is there a browser based store so I can check their selection?
No 3DS games are downloadable right now and won't be until NSMB2 comes out. After that I think Nintendo are going to put all (or at least the majority) of their first party games after NSMB2 on the eShop but I think it's up to the third party if they want to put their retail games on the eShop too and there is no indication whatsoever about whether they are going to put games that came out before NSMB2 on the eShop. So all 3DS games are downloadable now, right? You might have confused it with the Wii-U, I'm pretty sure they are going full digital for retail titles with that.Oh what the hell. But it IS happening, right? Like at some point they'll all be downloadable? I knew it was too good to be true. There were articles a while back about how they were going all digital.

It's like the XL in a gossip magazine photo shoot.
Ragus, can we get a picture of the 3DS XL stepping out of the shower, wrapped in a towel?
Sure.
