Hey guys, if you liked Ravenmark, we just went live with the Deepwood Dragoons campaign update! Check out the trailer here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKW7WukeqMI

This is our first foray into content-based IAP, and our fingers are crossed that people will support us so we can keep making more kick-ass campaigns.

I liked the old logo better, it was more unique than the new one :p The new one just seems like a very generic "knight" picture...

Also, just bought the campaign! Will definitely give it a try soon :)

for real? let me start it up now and check

EDIT: It has a tiny bar in the top advertising another Game by the same dev (sid meier's pirates), which is only visible in the main menu... definitely NOTHING big/worthy of "I'm not buying it because of this". It's an awesome game, worth much more than just .99.

Well that's enough to get me not to buy. If I want to buy another game from the same dev, I'll seek them out.

Really? A tiny bar in the top that you see for a maximum of... maybe 5 seconds before playing the game? It's not even coloured/obvious, more like a tiny live ticker bar. You're definitely missing out on a great game because of that dude. Just saying.

Uhm... k... I'm in a Neuroshima game with Hereafter and the new armies and have a question

What comes first, the new Vegas's takeover ability or the inactivation-net? So if I put down an inactivation-net in the takeover spot, will my unit get taken over or will his HQ get deactivated before that? I'm not quite sure and don't want to put it down just yet...

Yeah, I meant this. People are only going to be playing it a day before they realise no one wants to play because they've all already moved on, so it seems pointless trying to ninja a code out of Starbucks while nobody's looking when you could just... download it.

Because I play the game from time to time, and I hate ads. I paid for the Android version, then I got an iPad. I really don't want to buy it twice though.

Yeah? What about Dungeon Raid (obvs)?

And Manos is great, but jeez, no save states or continues. It actually is an NES game.

Looks like you saved me some money. I don't understand some devs making retro games. It's not cool to bring back stuff we DON'T want to see again or remember. I don't like this vision of retro gaming. It should only bring back the GOOD.

Some of what's "good" can be up for debate, but I think at the least you should have VC-style save states, and plenty of older titles had infinite continues anyway. But yeah, I think I'll wait for Android or whatever in case it supports controllers there.

30 letter passwords would be annoying bad design just to be old school. No saves or continues just makes it hard.

Thanks for the support, man! :D We did like the old logo better as well, but the number of people who've expressed preference for the new logo far exceeds those who preferred the old one.

Great stuff, I love that game and the support has been excellent.
You probably get asked this a lot but do you have any plans for Game Center support?

(I like the new logo better!)

Is there a list of apps that work on iPhone but not iPad anywhere?

Just so I can see what I'm gonna lose when I get my iPad. Thx.

Forgive me if I'm being dense, but I haven't seen any discussion about Ork:Vengeance, by Chillingo. This looks like a rather impressive Dungeon crawler, and looks like it might tide me over 'till Infinity Blade: Dungeons.

Has anyone taken the plunge? It looks head and shoulders above Dungeon Hunter.

As a general rule, all iPhone apps work on the iPad, the non-universal ones will be scaled x2 to the screen.

Agreed. No sense in being obscure for the sake of it. NES games didn't choose not to include save states as some stylistic choice. And nobody's ever felt good or nostalgic about starting from the beginning, because that's the way it used to be. There's a reason some things change.

In the Apps view in iTunes, some apps are listed under iPad/iPhone/iPod (these will scale up properly) while others are under iPhone/iPod (these will run windowed).

I'm fairly sure all iPhone games will work on iPad, most of them will just run in a window if they are not universal.

Thx for the replies, it's nice to know i'll keep all my stuff.

The game is still running in the background, eating up battery. I recall there being a way to exit out of them completely.

Double tap the home button...that brings up a list of running programs...press and hold on the icons until they shake...you will then get the option to shutdown the program by pressing the minus symbol next to it.

Typically iOS games or programs dont have exit buttons.

Not "running" in the background . Stored in memory. Kind of frozen in place, not eating CPU cycles. It doesn't hurt your battery.

Anyone tried 10000000? I just bought it, seems like its kinda similar to dungeon raid, gonna have to try it

Just tried it too, 10000000 seems to bridge the goal driven progress of Jetpack Joyride in to a match 3 puzzle game like Dungeon Raid, only with a moving map on the top while you play. Seems pretty fun, if you can get used to the slide entire columns/rows to match vs sliding individual pieces. It also is the most recent 5-star review at TA. Video there if you're curious, probably worth a look if you enjoyed Dungeon Raid.

I played it briefly and like the way it's setup. You wake from a main screen, and can spend the resources you earn in the dungeon killing monsters on upgrading your castle / abilities, and as you earn new ranks in the dungeon by completing objectives (like in Jetpack Joyride) you get new quests and unlock harder dungeons to try. It looks like there's a lot of stuff to enjoy, with the largest drawback for me being it's a little unclear sometimes how much life you have or sometimes a bit tricky to line up the columns just right, though it does flash all matches while sliding to indicate you've moved it correctly. Interesting puzzle game, could probably be great with a few updates.

This game is amazing. People who like Dungeon Raid should absolutely buy it.

It's like DR blended with an auto-running Henry Hatsworth a bit: there's a side scrolling auto run dungeon crawler on top with a match-3 puzzle board on the bottom. As your dude runs into enemies or chests, you have to match swords, staves, or keys correspondingly. You also match up shields, wood, and stone in the interim to help defend and build up your home base, which lets you use experience and gold from killing enemies to gain skills and improve your weapons and magic. It's also Jetpack Joyride-ish in that you're given different individual missions to complete for gold and materials (e.g., collect 24 backpacks, survive for 2 minutes).

It's freaking fantastic! TouchArcade has a video of it up, and I bought it within 45 seconds of the video since I love puzzle-RPGs.

Edit: Minsc :p Well, two endorsements in a row seems like I'm not just a crazy person.

+1'ing the 10M hype. Game scratches all those itches that the best iOS games do. Short session, longer metagame for upgrades and such. Going to have to resist trying to play it all day. Definitely seems to be worth the $2.

I got 10000000 after seeing the video of it on TA and I am pretty addicted. I never really felt Dungeon Raid, I can't really remember why now but I do remember deleting it off my device not long after getting it. But 100M has really got me. I am worried it is just my simple mind just gets enjoying seeing the levelling numbers go up, I dunno. Whatever, it's good, I would recommend it.

What do you guys think about Wind-up Knight? For me, it just showed once again how much touch buttons suck for gaming. Apart from that, it appears like a neat B- or C-tier platformer, which is rather challenging if you're not buying coins.

Here's the TA Plays video, which does a much better job of explaining how the different icons work:

Video here!

It's not the regular match-3 time of tile swapping -- you instead shift entire rows, like Chuzzle or Yoshi's Cookie.

It's kind of overwhelming at first, but there's a fair amount of strategy once you understand the basics of how things work. Like, ranged enemies are more vulnerable to physical attacks (sword matches and axe items), but other armored enemies are weaker to magic attacks (orb items and staff matches). If you keep an eye on what's coming up in the top screen, you can try to think ahead for what match-ups will help you out best. And in your downtime, when traveling between battles or chests, it's a good time to clean up the board by matching shields, backpacks (giving you items), wood or stone. It's pretty awesome; the more I play, the more I like it.

me too, I wonder what's going to happen when you get to 1000000 points though, the game says it's "freedom" but who knows what that means

Yeah, tried the lite version, and ended up spending a lot of time just with that. I think it's a much better fit for iPhone than either Eden or Minecraft. It controls well, and looks really good. Only complaint is that it just kinda throws you in with no instruction whatsoever. But after a short bit, I figured out a few recipes and started having a good time with it. It's oddly solitary, though, so after a while I left it alone. Been meaning to get the full version. So many sales, though, and now FFT is on my plate.

I know what you mean - I do hope a lter version might add in a companion, familiar, pet, or somesuch... I know 1.2 will allow you to raise/breed livestock, but the addition of a computer-controlled human-like character or two could make all the difference.

I love just hunting for recipes, and slowly building a collection of schematics. The vast range of things you can make, and equally large (and strange) tresaures rarely found, make exploring really worthwhile. And that is what makes a fun game (for me).

This sounds interesting . How are the controls?
Controls... aren't bad. They take a little getting used to for inventory work, and for tapping away blocks, but you can change the setting so as to hold you finger on a block to dig it away. I prefer that option.

Updates for jukebeat, jubeat plus and REFLEC BEAT plus are back on an unpredictable schedule across the board, so quick heads up that there is a new license pack on jukebeat available today:

◆Blondie pack◆

Heart Of Glass ( 2 / 5 / 8 )
One Way Or Another ( 2 / 6 / 9 )
Hanging On The Telephone ( 3 / 6 / 9 )
Call Me ( 3 / 5 / 8 )

Release Date: Jun 27, 2012

Purchase in app for $3.99.

Also, O2Jam U was updated some time ago. There is finally a user registration system which allows you to play under a name that is not MOMO[random 4 numbers]. It requires email registration which can be a bit finicky - my main email simply never received it and Gmail unceremoniously tossed it into the Spam folder - but you'll get 50 free points for doing it. I've been hearing, however, that the update might cause the game to not load on devices running iOS older than 5.1.

There's something weird about the control in 10000000. It feels weird and inaccurate. The time attack aspect is my least favorite part about it. Dungeon Raid is a more strategic/methodical game. But I'll keep playing, looks like it opens up quite a bit.

Yeah, I think the wood and stone matches unlock doors in your castle that then allow you to purchase upgrades using XP gained.
