Surprised nobody had made the thread yet, but hey, I won't pass up the opportunity to have a month without that stupid "too" in the title.

Really diggin this album. The loss of Everlast sucks, but Slaine is on point as usual and the production is awesome. Doesn't break the mould or do anything drastically different, but if you're a fan of hardcore rap you'll like this album

Very Hilltop, that's all I can really say about it. Pretty solid overall, as it's been ages since State of the Art I guess I was expecting more? Either way it's still pretty good. Suffa and Pressure spit awesomeness, and Debris slays the tracks with top notch samples and mixing.

Why does everyone have to post album covers?
Anyway, Frank Ocean still. I just downloaded a Lil B mixtape ,and The Books' albums just got re-issued ,so those.
And I also decided pull out 1999 by Prince. Can anyone blend styles as effortlessly as this man? Soul, funk, rock: great stuff.

EDIT- I doubt I'll be listening to Gaslight Anthem that much, because it feels like they released the same record again. Its not bad, it just seems too familiar.

A classic post-punk album. John Lydon's singing is so intense that his work on the Sex Pistols seems tame by comparison. The lyrics also show much more maturity, and deal with heavier, more personal subjects like the death of his mother. Keith Levene's guitar is violent, metallic percussive. Jah Wobble's thumping and strangely groovy bass is the driving force behind it all. It's a truly remarkable album and it's tragic that it's so unknown. It's also quite tragic how quickly PiL went down the shitter after Levene and Wobble left.

Sonic Youth - Simon Werner a Disparu (2011)
7KRVr.jpg

The sadly final album of Sonic Youth for a very long time. The break up of such an amazing band is sad in it's own, but this album indicated a new direction that will sadly stay unrealized. The band never quite utilized piano in their recordings except in a one-off track in Daydream Nation, but in this album it is peppered throughout, contrasting with the violent guitars, creating a very interesting result. Dissonant, melodic and mature all at once, this album is an accumulation of the entirety of Sonic Youth's massive discography, and a worthy end. I'll miss you guys :'(

Favorite track: Jean-Baptiste à la fenêtre http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aBBpSMjItg

Kno - Death is Silent

The production is the star here, almost flawless throughout. Quality album.

Chuuwee & Sundown - Adventures of the Millennium Falcon

Playing the hell out of this album. The production is incredible and both Chuuwee and Sundown are good on the mic (especially Chuuwee).

Has a nice relaxed feel to most of it, and the loose Star Wars theme is pretty neat (complete with a few samples from the original trilogy and a skit set in the Mos Eisley cantina).

Still listening to everything NIN released in a year that starts with a 1 and Tool's Lateralus with the occasional Dillenger Escape Plan.

The classic scenario: boy (Anthony Green) meets band; boy moves to California to record most intense, relevant 15 minutes of rock music of the 21st century; boy goes on tour, wows everybody; boy gets homesick, moves back to Pennsylvania, starts an experimental band (Circa Survive); old band finds a replacement, become chronic disappointment.

And don't forget the drums, recorded by former Slayer drum tech Pat Magrath. Ho-oly shit the drums.

Joss Stone Soul sessions V2.
Frank Ocean channel orange.
I also started listening to Liquid Swords by GZA. It had been awhile since I played this album.

I've listened to Yellow & Green a lot and Yellow has definitely grown on me. Favorites are Bones, March to the Sea and the 3 closing songs. Eula in particular is amazing, best song of both Y&G.
Green hasn't clicked for me, at least not yet. The first songs are ok, but the middle part is like a grey blur. The Line Between may be the only good song on the album.
