"Original Graphics Mode on"

Do you plan to sleep Yoshichan ? :)
I'm not heading to bed anytime soon. I will be playing this until I've maxed it out, pretty much.
With it on, it looks just like the PS1 version :D
And you can choose to have the original aspect-ratio as-well :3

Bilinear filtering mode. So it does look like the graphical resolution gets bumped up on anything except background textures.

Well, I'll probably wait to see if someone patches the music if it for some reason isn't on par with the PS1, but I'll definitely be getting this thanks to the resolutions.

Edit: You can load the game within 2 seconds from starting the game. It's instantaneous.
Bought. Will download after work. Hopefully it doesn't crawl.

Yoshi, did you just google the FF VII steam grid icon? Or did you make it?
Nope, I just Googled this one:

Yes, I had to log in to play.

Does it require a online connection to play FFIV?
Wrong game. This is Final Fantasy VII.

But yes I believe it does require an online connection to play as a form of DRM and to track achievements/implement micro-transactions.

Yoshi any word on how the micro-transactions workt? Are they implemented in-game? I read that they offer to let you buy free levels, max out your gil and MP/HP. If you need to do that for FFVII you should be ashamed of yourself, though.

I can't find anything yet. I've gone through all the menus, but no luck.

Does it still require a numpad?

I remember getting it to play on a laptop was quite a hassle back in the day.
You can change it to whatever you like, and even play on a joystick. It's all in the options :3

Downloaded, installed, updated. Click play!

Everytime!

:(
Restart your computer? Maybe try to run as administrator in windows vista/XP compatability mode? What OS are you using?

Hmm, maybe it's to be patched in or is something you do on the website and they edit your save file accordingly.

how accurate are those required system specs? my laptop is a piece of shit but i don't see why i'd need anything fast to run a 15 year old ps1 game. for reference, my laptop can barely run diablo III.

This isn't really answering your question, but my CPU temperature is actually above idle so :lol

Im not noticing much difference in the music....

Although Ive listening to loads of different versions of this music, so maybe I just cant remember what the original sounded like.

It's really, really different from the original version. I like Barrets Theme a lot more than the PS1-version.

Played up to the first save point and saved. "Saves synced to server" or something appeared in the upper left. Quit out to configure the controls.

Started up again, and the continue option is greyed out. Hooray for cloud saves!

Other than that, this version seems surprisingly solid. Horrible gamepad support though, analog 360 triggers are not detected.

Is there any links with how the music sound? I didn't mind the music in the old PC version from the 90s personally...

better 3d models ?
it is the only difference I seem to see.
that and the Steam tab button in the bottom right corner :)

It looks like it determines whether the models are rendered at the framebuffer's resolution or if they're rendered at the original resolution (640x480 on the PC release) and the entire frame is then scaled to the framebuffer's resolution.

3D models look great. Too bad they didn't go back and remodel those pre-rendered backgrounds. Honestly, if they did that I would be completely happy with any future FF7 remake.

The original PC version also came with a copy of the Yamaha S-YXG50 SoftSynthesizer which gave it absolutely amazing music for 1998 on the PC.

When wavetable soundcards were still hundreds of dollars and FFVII included fantastic wavetable music gratis it was like manna from heaven.

My first rpg, right here. Really hoping this will be able to be modded, (although not crossing my fingers). Is Xpadder required?
