Final Fantasy VII PC re-release. SE Store Exclusive - Out now, Internet required

On a storytelling level in games that entire flashback scene was unlike anything I had seen before. I remember having a save specifically at that location that I would watch every once and a while to catch up on it. Because it was rather complicated.
I didn't know about the extra final cutscene with Zach you could get by going back to the lab before you beat the game until I replayed it several years later. That scene was one of the biggest mindfucks IMO.

I remember just stumbling on it all of a sudden way after I had beaten the game. It's probably one of my favorite off-the-beaten-path moments in a FF game. Because it's such an important plot point, that is totally optional. I imagine many might have never found it.

Is there a youtube link to this? I think I saw it but I don't remember because it's been way too many years(probably time to replay it)

Yoshi, its not even funny, you're hyping me on a game I'm already playing...Them screenshots have so much power! D:

Watching Corran's stream, music is...different, but its not actually THAT bad.

I'm still on the fence if it sounds cheaper or not. Let's watch a bit more...

Didn't they actually add that only to the western and international versions? I imagine that is why it's optional.

Wtf, this game was so good but suddenly I fight this big ass snake from nowhere and he instantly kills me and I couldn't do anything about it. This fight definitely lowered the score of the game, how are you supposed to beat this broken enemy?!

Beta, get! ;)

Yoshi you would be banned *on-sight* in the 2012 PC Screenshot thread. I physically feel the pain of your eyeballs in mine.

But keep em coming. So awesome to relive those moments of FF7 glory.

100gil for a night at a chocobo ranch... what the hell? Did Billy think this was a 5-star hotel or something?

This is the 4th time I've purchased Final Fantasy VII (PS1, PC triangle box, PSN, and now PC online) and I couldn't have been happier to do it.

I'm perfectly fine with another excuse to play through my favorite game.

I'm surprised how good the game looks, even stretched in widescreen, but the PC music is pretty miserable compared to the PS1 originals.

I think that even if the music sounds worse at times, it's still a different sounding version of some of my favorite VG music of all time. I would take new over the same soundtrack I have heard for the last 15 years.

I think the PC music sounds slightly worse than the PS1 music, and I don't even have a nostalgia factor for the PS1 music because the first time I played FF7 was the triangular PC box version back in 1998.

... Elena. You talk too much.

Spent (what felt to be) 10 minutes trying to steal Grand Glove... fuck me, I need to level up some, I guess.

Barret joined.

Uhh. anyone elses cursor go completely nuts when they try to start the game? It boots up to the save/continue screen and the cursor flies back and forth between the two options as if I were holding down on the joystick or something.

It's probably getting a constant signal from your analog stick, try calibrating your controller.

I am really on the fence here GAF. Double DRM, apparently the quality is worse than the PS1 version, and you can download for 30 days only. Convince me why I should pick this up GAF?

It was happening even when the controller was turned off or the receiver unplugged (wireless 360 receiver.) I did figure it out though, and it's kind of a weird issue. I had my Wii remote synced to my PC before for playing games in Dolphin and for whatever reason, it still shows up in the game controllers applet despite not having been connected in months. Clicked on "Advanced" and it gives you the option to choose your preferred device for older games (This is in Win 7 at least.) It was set to the Wii remote and after changing it to the 360 controller I no longer have the problem. So, uh, for the 3 others of you out there that might run into this, there you go.

Well. I might have spent some money and all that.

You shouldn't, and you should mail bags of mashed up shit to Square-Enix.

So wait, does this game have like... always-on DRM or somethin? That would be fucking hilarious... as if this shitty release wasn't already enough of an abortion.

Jesus Christ, Yuffie is so cute... definitely my favorite character in FFVII :3

Got an email from Squeenix telling me they'd give me a free copy of this game for downloading it earlier, but wonder how long that will take. Kinda just want to buy it now.

Jessie definitely has the hawts for Cloud, and an underrated looker too.
God damn it, I need to know which one you're REALLY in love with here, 'cuz I'm getting confused! Tell me straight up, who do you like? Elena, Jessie or Tifa?!

Just played for ten mins. Wow! To those saying this is worse than the PS1 version I don't agree. The pre-rendered backgrounds may look a tad fuzzy, but I have never seen the monsters and anything 3D in FF VII look this crisp. Looks fantastic at 1920X1080, fullscreen, and 4:3 original format. Everything moves much smoother than PS1 version. Kinda reminds me of how I first saw Zelda OOT running on Wii Virtual Channel without all the fog.

And the battle theme sounds better imo. It's gonna be interesting to see how they change things up where it concerns the music.

FFVII taught me about CPR... that is all.
