Any benefits to keeping your old 3DS?
All I can think of:
+Historical value
+Street passing with yourself (foreveralone.gif) to get stuff
+Circle Pad Pro games will control better on it for months
Has anyone modified a CPP to work with the XL?

This is probably the most asked question, but how are DS games now on the 3DS XL - 1:1 and scaled?
I have a DSi XL, and it would be sweet to just have one system.

In 1:1, the screen size is slightly bigger than a DSi screen, and it looks just as crisp/perfect, apparently. Scaled up, it allegedly holds up, but the image quality is still susceptible to the same smudging as the old 3DS.

This does seem to be corporate policy. GS in Arizona told me today I could A. Have them do the system transfer in store or B. Buy the Unit and then bring my 3DS in and get the credit. They even gave me a print out on how to do the system transfer. They had a stack of the sheets

True, but on tiny, baby screens. At this point, I can't go back to the 3DS-sized screens when my cellphone has a 4.65in screen and my Vita is hovering around the same area.

Haha, nice! Miami is basically an extension of Cuba... And El Mariel played a major role in that development. In fact, my father came from that, so go figure. XD. Picking up my 3DS soon! So excited!

For people trading in at Gamestop, they only need the receipt and OG 3DS when you get your refund, not the XL.
The last Nintendo handheld I had was the original Gameboy, but I'm gonna give this one a shot. 
The Future shop deal is awesome (trade 5 selected games for a 3DS XL) and I doubt we will be getting anything better for the next few years even if you take into account black friday/boxing day deals.
Seems like I will have a huge potential backlog since it does play DS games+ gameboy/advance stuff from the eshop. :]

GBA games are ambassador-only at this point. No word if they'll eventually make those games (or other GBA games) available for download. Just FYI.
Varies. DQV can be tough to find, but should be a lot of DQIV and DQVI around. Castlevania games shouldn't be a problem, either. Generally, most DS games are still pretty easily available, though.

Dumb fucks at Walmart couldn't find New Super Mario Bros 2 but at least after half an hour they found the 3DS XL's. Setting it up now.
I still feel bad for finishing this game. To this day I seriously can't think of something that I liked about it.

So I cancelled my NewEgg preorder and was going to trade it in to gamestop... but now I kind of want to keep it just to have as an extra one... I mean I have grips and other stuff for it too... but $100 trade in value... I can't decide.
When does the $100 trade in deal expire?

Nice, getting mine at the GS by 137th and miller myself. would be cool to meet some other gaffers for more street passes.
So pissed right now, what a wasted trip to Wal-Mart. Got there and saw nothing in the display case so I asked the guy in the electronics section and he said he didn't work in electronics. He said the guy was on break so wait 15 minutes. I waited 25 minutes and then found some other employee and asked... she said to go to the front and ask the manager. So I went to the front and asked and they said no one is working in electronics now but they'd send someone back to the electronics section to help. So I go back to electronics and the guy comes and doesn't know what the 3DS XL is but is willing to go look in the back for it. He comes back with nothing and says he couldn't find it and even called his friend who works in electronics and he said as of earlier Saturday, they didn't have it yet and would probably come in on the morning truck around 9 am.
So 40 minutes of time wasted and no 3DS XL. Screw Wal-Mart, I'm going to Target at 8 am when they open.

My camera is a crappy phone cam. Not worth posting the pics. It does look blown up a bit full screen, but The World Ends With You looked fine. Perfectly playable.
The speakers sound exactly the same to me. I am not an audiophile by any means, but they sound identical to the 3DS imo.
Also, my screen isn't "yellow" at all. Looks perfect.
Checked the bumpers/screens when closed. You can see through, and there is plenty of room between the two screens with the new bumpers. I pressed down a bit to see if they budge at all, and with pressure applied they don't come together AT ALL. Not going to scratch itself.
I hear you. Never go to Wal-Mart. The only reason why I went to a 24 hour department store is because I work there. I personally found the XL hardware and NSMB2 last Thursday and locked them up informing the employees to NOT TOUCH it. Went in there tonight, called the night store manager, and he brought them up promptly at midnight. Meijer had a credit card deal that ran Saturday but ran over in to midnight with %15 off all general merchandise. This combined with my employee discount nabbed me NSMB2 and the XL for $196. I'm quite happy about that XD
