Geez, the Shi'ar are gonna get wrecked then if Jean ever decides to pay them back for murdering her family. These people had the tech to shoot the Phoenix and hurt it so bad it had to ask Jean to comfort it. Again, the Shi'ar made a Cosmic force of Life run crying to its mama, and now that it's technically at 1/5th of its power, if not less (isn't Jean still collecting parts?), and they get wrecked by it already?

Heaven help the Empire if they ever have to deal with anything stronger than the Phoenix, then.

I just assumed whatever crazy technology they had was lost when Vulcan was in charge and waging war on the inhumans

Blade would be cool. Storm should have her own series, and I'm amazed Luke Cage hasn't had a recent chance at a solo title, given how much Bendis has upped his profile.

I feel that, with a few exceptions, most of the X- characters work (Storm included here) better in a team setting.

Storm was the only character where I thought Claremont's verbose and haughty dialogu worked to the benefit of the character. He did a lot for her up until the late 90s/early 2000s.

This is probably true. However, as someone who likes Storm but doesn't care much about the X-Men as a whole, I'd like the option. :P

storm needs to be leading the damn x-men

fuck scott

Storm should have been headmistress of the new school, instead of hanging out on Utopia cause Cyke needed a moral compass (great lot of good that did, btw. Scott just did wanted anyway, and got some Phoenix power for his trouble).

If someone told me 3 years ago that Hawkeye and Gambit would be Marvel's best comics, I would have laughed my ass off. What has the world come to?

Gambit was way better then I was expecting. One of my favorite new comics.

Thread with Gambit #1 and Hawkeye #1 in the first post redeemed.

the new era begins. as the gambit ambassador, i welcome all. even current haters.

I still can't believe Johnathan "I don't like writing minorities characters because I make them come off as fake" Hickman is pushing Black Panther

But I'll take it. Finally, a big-name writer on BP. Hell, he may even be the leader of the (New) Avengers, at this rate.

this is a definite good thing.

Ugh, give that boring ass a rest already Marvel. If you need a black ongoing, let an interesting character have it like Falcon or Photon.

wtf? hating on bp while promoting falcon?

Storm should just fight Cyclops. She won last time

and the time before that

Wasn't the first time explained as Scott not having his head in fhe game because he wanted to leave the X-Men and go to his family ? I could be wrong.
And didn't Scott once beat everyone in an issue?

hell no if she insists on being pacifist. And Scott is the X leader. Fact.

Scott doesn't always need to be the X Men leader and Storm has shared leadership of the team.

That said, I don't want Storm taking over the team so long as she is still married to BP, hate that fucking character.

Um, how the hell is Cyclops still alive?

(Other than "lol, comics)

There is no other reason then Lol comics. Last year he went even with Wolverine despite the fact that a punch from Wolverine should shatter his face.

UXM #175, Cyclops does some Batman-level prep time and manages to take out the whole X-men squad when they're possessed by Dark Phoenix Maddie Pyror. Nerve pinches, booby traps, using their skills against each other, the works. It's a favorite X-men issue of mine.

Also, Greg Land finally got a book suited to his skills. Where it's a feature for the book to look like the movie(and it's cosplays)!

Lol, f outta here with that Storm pacifist shit. Storm was the original hardcore X-leader. They just neutered her so Scott could look badass in comparison.

That is not how Storm is written now. Infact it is the reverse now. But people hating Scott for X-force is just being hypocritical.

Prefering Storm for how she use to be written and disliking Scott even for using X Force isn't an issue so long as people aren't singing praises about the way Storm is written now.

If they are doing so and trying ot champion both styles of Storm while refusing to give Scott the same type of treatment then fine, I haven't seen that happening though.

He gets hate because he sat behind a desk while an emotionally damaged, former sex-slave, abuse victim, 16 year old was doing his dirty work - dirty work that she joined the X-school to get away from. How he didn't get major shit for that one, I will never understand. Not to mention how f'd up Wolfsbane (another emotionally damaged abuse victim with severe self-esteem issues) became during X-Force.

Storm faked the X-Men's death and then lead the charge on scumbags herself. There's a huge difference.

Never said that he was a favprite with everyone. But in may ways i feel that as the first X-man Cyke's story is the X-men story.
Oh I know, I just wanted to get a bitch at Cyclops session out of my system. lol

That said I really want to bitch about S.H.I.E.L.D what a waste of money, on the bright side Hawkeye is a ton of fun.

Why does Invincible Iron Man have to end. Why.

Drafting in Laura was a mistake one which he tried to rectify later. As a fan I am well aware he has flaws. The X-men follow him out of their own volition and know what they are getting into. And no can really argue that Cyke won't put his neck on the line and will never get his hands dirty if the situation calls for it.

Have you read Immortal Iron Fist? It's by the same creators as the new Hawkeye and has a lot of the same style and humour. The first 16 issues are perfection.

Read UXF and Waid's DD. I can see why some people might not like Hickman's style.
Okay, I actually do like the current Ultimates, I just don't know enough about comics to get why Reed is the OMG super villain that he is portrayed as, I've only read 1-6 and 13 and 14, so I might be missing something. 3.99 back issues aren't cheap!

No I haven't. Is it on Comixology? Love Kung fu stuff too so it sounds like a match made in heaven.

Marvel really needs to cut prices on digital comics after a month like DC

Yep, I've noticed that too, made catching up on Court of Owls so much easier to do. I figured it was across the board, but yeah you're right, marvel isn't big on it. They also need to add there damn MAX titles, still it's not like the issues I have it's Dark Horse (and why I don't buy any of their stuff) sine they don't let cross sync occur with Comixology.

Oh my wife and I were reading Mouseguard to our 8 month old daughter. It was free on Comixology, so i figured why not give it a while, am I making a mistake (ie it gets hardcore later on)?

Kind of reminds me of that cats and dog comic who investigate evil occult threats I found once. Well anthropomorphic characters at least.

Regarding Storm, I really would have liked to see her in the Uncanny Avengers Roster if they are doing the thing of including more X-Men in it.

I can explain the evil Reed thing.... sort of.

Beware: Current Loeb... so didn't read.

He wanted to conquer the world to prevent another Ultimatum I think. The ultimates and everyone stopped and Ben scarred him and left him in the Negative Dimension thus he created the Children as a perfect race.

I haven't read any comics in ages. I wonder what I'm missing out on.

Anyone here have a recommendation for something relatively new that I could pick up from the beginning? Maybe something with a vigilante bent to it?

Failing that, anyone have a decent publisher to recommend?

Okay that actually makes sense. Still how does one create a perfect race in a place called....err never mind, it fills the gap I had enough.

What's the Ultimatimun though?

It was like some sort of giant title wave that destroyed Manhattan. Killed off a shit ton of characters in the worst way possible. I just can't understand how one man can go from The Long Halloween and Hush to that shit.
