North American Vita Compatible PSone Games

My PS1 games are not in bubbles. Don't tell me I have redownload them.

Read the tutorial on page one, friend. You need the installation bubble to install the game on your Vita from a PS3.

Wait hold up I can transfer PSX games from any of my PS3 accounts to the Vita?
I have a couple of games on my EU account, can I transfer those?

I think you can only copy games from the same account on a PS3 to a Vita and vice versa.

Is there any downside to using my spare 4GB memorycard for PSX downloads? Currently my primary card is rather full 16GB card. (All on the same account of course.)

I guess I have to delete the installed versions on my PS3 and then redownload them.

I have a question. I'd love to play Symphony of the Night on Vita, but I live in Europe, so no SOTN for me.

So, the situation is:

a)PS3 with Account A
b)Vita with Account A

But, I was thinking about something. Would it work if I created a new profile

c)PS3 with Account B

which would be a US account, downloaded SOTN from US store, and then transfer it to my Vita with European Account A?

I know this has been said before and I understand if you desperately want the original, but Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles for the PSP HAS SotN included on it. You can play with the analouge stick (not sure if the PS1 version has this or not) and it has a revamped script with the original voice actors, you can't stretch to widescreen it but it has a border so the edges of the screen don't feel empty.

While it's true you have to unlock it in Level 4 of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, RoB is actually a fun game in itself and getting to level 4, while mildly challenging, shouldn't be too much trouble if you unlock the girl that throws birds in level 2.

I purchased Final Fantasy IX on my European PS3 back when I was still using EU account (I went over to only using US PS3/Vita a while back) and when I tried to transfer FFIX to my Vita it did not work since the original purchase came from EU account.

Simply put, no.

Alundra and klonoa looks amazing on vita, especially alundra, I'd like to ge a screenshot and post it but it you cant take screenshot for ps1 game on vita. Tried taking photo from my phone and it just didnt capture the color, which largely is what make it looks so good.

If you guys have that game, you should try it out.

Grandia doesn't work. Seems the OP missed it.

Added. Sorry I missed it.

If you're playing Klonoa on an American account Vita, I'll add it.

I downloaded FF VII and tried to play I guess this doesn't support analog stick even when set? Anyone else have this issue? I dont want to use the dpad if I dont have to..

FF VII never supported analog. And you can't map the analog to register the d-pad's controls either.

If the game didn't have analog support when it came out, then you can't use analog control on Vita.

I've read a good amount of this topic and noticed that everyone seems to think these games are all playing perfectly fine. My brief experience with Klonoa and Um Jammer Lammy seems to show that those games work perfectly too. So its technical issues holding these things back. It's pretty much all on SCEA's malicious choice. If its really just a licencing issue I'd wish they'd just come out and say that.

Anyhow, is there any hope that games like Chrono Cross and Grandia will become playable soon? To the people following the PSP on Vita situation, have any of the nontransferable games become transferable yet?

Haha maybe Sony America will end up considering this early PS3 game transferring an exploit and patch it out!

In any case, I'm shocked that all of my PSX games seem to have made the cut. As soon as they add Tomba and Legend of Mana, my two remaining planned purchases, I'll be good to go.

I'm not sure if this has already been brought up, but I noticed quite a few "glitches" on Final Fantasy VII that occur after a battle:

d6Wur.jpg

I had Disc Speed set to Fast and have switched back to Normal to see if there's any difference.

Speaking of which, Final Fantasy 6 would be tolerable if it weren't for the massive pause in loading the menu screen of all things.

Sounds like Madden on the Vita. As others have stated, for FFVI, just stick to GBA.

I prefer the SNES version, as they changed too much of the dialogue in the GBA version to my liking. Including completely butchering Aria de Mezzo Carattere.

Touch the center of the screen for a couple seconds while playing a ps1 games, I have problem going into it yesterday when I just touch the left side of the screen, maybe it's because I'm touching the black screen since I run the game in original display mode. Maybe you need to touch the in game screen.

Anyone else having major control issues with Rayman (i.e., randomly ducking/crawling)?

Something similar happened to me when playing Final Fantasy VII too, except the screen just stayed black like it was trying to transition back after the battle, music was still going too. I think I'll switch back to normal speed as well.

Well that was rather roundabout... I finally managed to get my FFIX saves copied from my PSP onto my Vita. Originally, I figured putting my Memory Stick Pro-Duo into my PS3 directly and copying the save data would put it somewhere I could access via the Content Manager. What I ended up having to do was connect my PSP to my PS3, copy the save files into one of the PS3's virtual memory cards, connect my Vita, and copy 'em from there (under Saved Data -> PlayStation).

Not sure if anyone else got stuck like I did, but figured I'd share my solution. :)

Cecil posted detailed instructions (from PSOne save to PSP save to Vita save) here:

LOL SCEA.

Just checked out the the europe store on my vita, and to my suprise, it has what seems like every PSone game avaliable.

Really wish that the custom screen stretching option had made it into the Vita version, you'd think after all this time they'd at least be able to achieve parity with its PSP equivalent. Not to mention that with the PSP you could map the digital pad to the analogue on Final Fantasy VII, now with true analogue emulation that's impossible. Hopefully they'll iterate on the emulator fairly quickly.

I've had that happen too with disc speed set to fast, no problems after switching back to normal.

so IS there anyway to disable the rear touch inputs in PSOne titles?

Shit is driving me bonkers due to how I hold my Vita (fingers always wrapped around the back)

Fantastic on both counts.

I'm still amazed at how good 2D sprite games are looking on the Vita screen. Alundra is looking amazing as well.

The OLED really makes 2D games look remarkably better than the PSP or 3DS do. I might need to try Alundra to see what all the praise is about.
