I'd never thought I'd ever post in an American Football thread, but here we are. I was at the Notre Dame/Navy ''Emerald Isle Classic'' today, and enjoyed it a LOT more than I'd thought. Maybe when I learn the rules, I'll enjoy it more lol. Anyone else in the Aviva today?

My only complaint would be stoppages, though it's not as bad as I thought before the match.


Quick question, I couldn't help but notice people throwing/thrusting/lifting kids in the air above their heads during stoppages. What's that all about?

Both Navy and Notre Dame do crowd push-ups after they score. Older fans lift their children because a) it's fun for the kids and b) they're lighter. When you are in college though you either lift the heaviest dude around to show how boss you are, or you lift the hottest coed so that you have an excuse to touch her. Great Success!

I will say I would not have enjoyed lifting my roommate after scoring 50 points...he weighed like 290 back then.

I had success by loading up a non-blackout game then selecting picture in picture for the game I wanted. Switch the windows and close the scrub.

Hey guys,

I'd never thought I'd ever post in an American Football thread, but here we are. I was at the Notre Dame/Navy ''Emerald Isle Classic'' today, and enjoyed it a LOT more than I'd thought. Maybe when I learn the rules, I'll enjoy it more lol. Anyone else in the Aviva today?

My only complaint would be stoppages, though it's not as bad as I thought before the match.


Quick question, I couldn't help but notice people throwing/thrusting/lifting kids in the air above their heads during stoppages. What's that all about?

Glad you enjoyed it, though it stinks your first real experience with American football was a blowout. You were watching two heavy run teams (especially Navy), and they are both medicore teams in the college football world (though ND looked better then usual).

I disliked soccer until I actually watched it seriously and learned the rules. Totally different games, and while Soccer is quicker paced, american football can be very action-ish paced once you get use to stoppage and break time.

I think that's the case for a lot of Europeans. I see a lot of people get into the NFL too when the Super Bowl comes around. Lots more rules than soccer and stuff though. I sometimes spend time on twitter answering football questions during the Super Bowl to help out.

Yeah they have. Inexperienced db's are showing it, though I think we'll see a different team after half. Grantham about had a heart attack in the first half. No doubt UGA spent at least one day this week on Mizzou prep, if not more. This first half was about trying to avoid more injuries and not show Mizzou too much. But I think they're going to lock it down after halftime.

Well I know their schedule is ridiculously easy except for South Carolina and the UF game.

Buffalo has already rushed for 150 yards. UT rushed for -21 yards against UGA last year.
