Oh and I think the hatred for PopGAF has to do with the fact that a lot of them post tons of obnoxious GIFs and reply with sassy sarcastic answers to legitimate posts/questions (that ignore dismiss the content of the post). That's the general feeling I get from talking with people who aren't a part of PopGAF.

PopGAF is religious zealotry. Zombie James' little movie is atheism, and shout out to PartTimeWarrior's Captian Crunch bit because that is Richard Dawkins.
Not shading sis. I remember during her promo tour she called a radio station and they called her out on her t-shirt "autotune is for pussies" (or something like that it said) and then she said how during the Bionic recording process she started playing around with it more.

Probably has more to do with the fact that you philistines have continuously come into threads like this doing the same bit of gif posting, hashtag using, and other annoying traits that would better left in that thread dedicated to whatever it is you guys actually discuss.
Why is it that whenever a pop-artist (and I use the word artist with such disdain) is involved with a piece of news that the rest of us are unable to discuss it without you pop-gaf individuals scattering about withing the thread ruining it for the rest of us?
Maybe you guys should tone it down or get fresher material, but considering your choice of hobbies, I can see why the latter would be difficult for many of popgaf posters.

To be fair, a lot of the popgaf snark is in response to equally dumb posts like "lol pop music sux" or comments in a similar vein. It's just the pop music equivalent of threads that devolve into wars over the meaning of genres, pointless debates about "real music" and/or "real instruments", etc.
It's all in good fun. The only places to have serious discussions with gaffers about music are offsite.
Funny thing is, I have posted all of TWO gifs in this entire thread and have done more to discuss the topic of this thread (and its relevant sub-topics) than you have in that entire post.
I mean, seriously, think about the point you're trying to communicate and then look at your very own post.

I quoted you post because you make it seem as if pop-gaf is some coveted group where people are aware of used terms and so forth. I was simply pointing out that that probably isn't the case and the reality is that more people are aware of pop-gaf because of perceived thread-shitting (another term I'd rather not use; lack of a better).
The point I made is still valid, I just chose this as an outlet to make it. I certainly wouldn't go in the pop-gaf thread and make that post because it would be seen as I was coming in there to be an antagonist. That isn't the case, I just wanted to discuss something that has irked me an others. Should I have PMed all of pop-gaf to air my grievances?
In my views they are also in the wrong if the come into a thread to talk about beef or other nonsense that detracts from the topic at hand.
I was being snarky because that seems to be a running trend. No offense, I have bad musical taste and as such used that remark as more of a vehicle to show how bothersome posts can be when it becomes popstar vs popstar and other "sassy" posts such as that.

And yeah, I'm sure ender wanted to illicit sometype of reaction with the title and content of the post. So I guess I'd ask why not just post this in pop-gaf to being with? Maybe he wanted to draw out "haters".

PopGAF is a coveted group, even moreso these days since I can't seem to enjoy OT anymore without posters like you shitting up threads with your off-topic musings on the merits of PopGAF (read: flaming).
And clearly, the "coveted group" bit is sarcasm. Pretty much every subgroup refers to itself that way - from GAF-HOP to Pony GAF and, yes, even PopGAF.
And, I'm sorry, but your point is not at all valid when you, a poster who has yet to even comment on the topic at hand and have thus far been the digital embodiment of the concept of DERAIL, are criticizing a group of people who HAVE contributed to on-topic discussion just because they posted some gifs in the process.
As has been asked of your earlier, please tell us your opinion on Demi Lovato. If you can't or won't, then really this thread isn't for you in the first place.

have you read the thread? there's numerous complaints about gifs, even before they really came into play. pop music, as ever, got crapped on by numerous people, and the sales as a metric of quality thing was brought up like the word barbaric in a tipping thread.
let me put it to you like this: what did you hope would happen from airing these same aforementioned grievances, much less being kinda caustic about it? it was cathartic, not some outreach.
stuff like that's only brought up when it has relevancy with the artist/topic at hand - i.e., pop-gaf on a britney thing.
it's not for everyone, granted...but when sports-gaf or other corners leak into a thread i'm in and these cliques are on about their respective inside jokes & such, i just keep it moving. no idea why that couldn't be done here (not just you, mind, to be fair)
i'm saying, if i didn't care for lawyer-GAF, id not really go into law school threads, is all

No, in fact the more they piss off the "pressed" of POP-GAF, the more hilarious it becomes to me.

*Chuckles* honestly while My involvement in POPGAF has been limited lately. I still feel like I am somewhat part of them. They make me laugh with the fighting and thats about it. They never bother me.
