Nerdist Writers Panel w/ Vince Gilligan and the Breaking Bad writing staff. Recorded the day after the finale aired.

Interesting how organically some of the threads played out. And yes, Cranston is believes Walt's actions aren't as black & white as some would lead you to believe. But would else would you expect from the God-King of Team Walt? Might be the best of what's always an awesome podcast.

I disagree with solo there. Breaking Bad, up to this point, is a story largely about redemption. Part of what's driven Walt as far down the dark-road as he's traveled is his trying to redeem himself for a lifelong lack of success, respect, and confidence. This is the place from which Heisenberg spawned and continues to be fueled. S5.2 will tackle the ultimate consequences of Walt's quest for redemption.

So... Do you guys expect BB to win any Emmy awards? I know there is some Emmy thread somewhere but that is probably full with spoilers of shows I did not see yet so I don't dare to enter it. Having not seen many of the other shows makes it hard for me to predict it as well. I can not imagine anyone doing better than Cranston though because he was just perfect in S4.

I really hope Gus wins!

Would BB have less chance of winning things because S4 has been so long ago now or won't that really matter? (you never know!)

Regarding the Heisenberg/Walt thing, I think we saw a bit of Walt when he thought he let Mike get away after taking the shot. That Heisenberg cockiness as he took the shot was instantly replaced with legitimate fear. Great little moment.

Something that I've been wondering:

Is this shit even possible? lol. I mean, getting half your face completely blown and still be fully conscious for 15-20 seconds after that.

Jesse is made a wussy, Skylar just seems fake, leaving the kids with someone else for weeks or months, just too much crap.

I would like to see a sex scene with Skylar before the series ends please.

Have to agree with you.

Every scene with Skyler is god awful both writing and acting wise.

Walt flipped the switch from crazy and feeling justified to just crazy too fast basically in the premier.

Not nearly enough hank or Jesse.


Outside of skyler scenes the worst of breaking bad is still better than basically anything on the air currently besides mad men.


If you asked me pre season 5 if I was getting series blu ray at end? I would have said yes day 1. Now? on the fence and if I do I will certainly fast forward anytime sky is on screen.
