I doubt they can handle it satisfactorily. I mean, how do you explain "You died, married Scott, died again and nobody can actually explain who killed you, but then aliens killed your entire family, and Scott shacked up with the woman who drove you insane the first time. Then everybody teamed up with the force responsible for your insanity and the death of the family and several of your own deaths and used it to wreck stuff and hurt people you loved"?

I guess Cap is safe since he Remender is writing his other book. Slott will probably continue writing the new Spidey ongoing so he's safe too...

So what's going to happen to X-Men with Marvel NOW? I really liked Wood's run on it...hoping they don't end up canning it. It's already a shame they plan to close up Gillen's Uncanny X-Men and take Remender off X-Force, too.

I'm not really big on Avengers stuff, but Remender and Hickman's involvement made me at least want to give it a shot. Not really a fan of Bendis anymore, but I think his style could work with the original 5.

Have we heard anything about X-Factor lately? It's going to hit the #250 anniversary issue in January, has one of the highest issue numbers left at Marvel, and is one of their lowest selling titles. I'm guessing it either ends with 250 or is relaunched in Feb.

Luckily "Jean from the Past" probably hasn't had the Phoenix and since the Phoenix is gonna be leaving for awhile again, it won't make her go instant Dark Phoenix. Because if it were a Jean with Phoenix powers, that kinda info dump would really screw her up.

That truly is the bouillabaisse of all fuck ups.

The best part of it all is the beginning. Just have the past X-men talking to their future counterparts, then Jean goes, "Where am I?" and Scott's all, "I'm sorry, but you were killed." Then you have her ask, "Who killed me?" and the X-men all answer at once "Xorn" "Magneto" "Xorne" "Xorneto," "Kick" "Sublime" "Whoever."

Like seriously, how upset would you be to know your best friends couldn't actually explain how you died? Nevermind finding out about your boyfriend shacking up with two other women and killing your mentor, nevermind nobody seeking revenge for the murder of your family, nevermind having three living children to whom you did not give birth, nevermind the cosmic force that constantly ruins your future, just the fact that your murderer is a multiple choice answer would be upsetting.

This storyline could be potentially great if Bendis was going to write it as a bit of in-continuity parody. It'd really be the only way you could approach the implications of this plot and it could be hilarious, but of course he won't be doing this.

A couple of things:

1) I'd actually like it if, after AvX, the Phoenix Force was out of the picture permanently (or at least permanently for comics which is like 15-20 years). The whole Phoenix thing has really been played out at this point. Soon it will be easier to list which X-Characters haven't possessed the Phoenix Force at some point in comics history.

2) Maybe Past Jean was taken from a time before her and Cyclops started dating. They hinted at there being a mutual attraction early on in the X-Books, but there was a decent amount of time between that and them actually being a couple. It would actually be interesting to see the original five interact with all the other mutants their age.

Also, why is Sword and Sorcery 3.99? Jeez. I'm trying to avoid buying digital comics for $4 when I'm eventually going to buy the TPB too.
