Oh God, my school is drug testing

I just got an email saying all students will be drug tested. However, it doesn't say WHEN which is KILLING me! You guys think they will send me another e-mail warning me and giving me at least +30 days (which is how long it takes for cannabis to exit your system iirc). I'm afraid I'm going to randomly get an email saying it will be in a week or something crazy. No hard drugs btw, but shit I wouldn't be worried if I did those since those leave your system in a few days..

LMAO yeah drug testing with 30 days notice is common place. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. They will probably tell you where to buy clean pee too.

It depends on how they are testing. Follicle test? A good 3 months (though I beat that after 1.5 months). Body fat plays a factor since that's where it's stored. Don't exercise beforehand.

where do you live? On what legal grounds are they going to forcefully drug test you? Are you on a sports team? Challenge that shit.

Yeah, this sounds pretty bullshit to me. I know my old high school did random drug testing for students in extra curriculars and for parking passes though. OP, is this a high school or college?

Some schools drug test kids who do activities (I believe legally they have to do it for every activity even if they only care about the sports teams).

What's the worse that can come out of being caught? Genuinely curious. Does the school report the students or some shit? I'm not exactly sure what role of the school is in drug testing.

I remember when my high school did something this. They brought dogs on campus during school wide assemblies. A few kids, and a teacher, got disciplined, but supposedly some kid saw them doing the searches (when we didn't know about it), and complained to his parents. They got pissed that they were searching through the kids things, and the administration had to explain themselves to the faculty and students not too long after. It was just surreal.

To be honest, I would support drug testing if it was found out that the school's student body had an increasing number of hard drug users. I think identifying those students and offering them help would be an important step for the institute to take. But that's probably the only circumstance under which I would support it.

you are a high school kid (i'm assuming). I know it seems scary right now, but in the grand scheme of things getting busted with some weed in your system in high school will probably be met with little more than a slap on the wrist. They aren't going to arrest you or kick you out of school.

Could be faculty. A local private school here just started hair testing for all students and faculty.

But the problem is, as the OP pointed out, hard drugs like cocaine only take a couple days to leave the system, while pot takes weeks. So you basically persecute the wrong people with these tests.
