Forza Horizon developer Turn10 has confirmed that its one-time DLC Season Pass purchase will be $49.99 or 4000 MS Points.

Buyers will get six Season Pass-exclusive cars at launch, along with access to six car packs and the major expansion pack recently confirmed for release on December 18. Grabbing the lot will apparently equate to a 17 percent saving over buying everything separately.

The developer also today released episode two of its 'Behind the Scenes' video series, showing more of the development process behind turning Colorado into a virtual race car playground. Check that out below.

And over on the official site, you can also get a full list of the 67 music tracks that'll be in the game, split over three virtual radio stations.

Forza Horizon's release date is pinned for October 23.

I've got to hand it to Forza though. The game will sell you car packs for cash, which then puts the cars in your in-game store to be further unlocked by spending millions of in-game credits. Luckily they'll sell you credit tokens for more real cash so you can actually use the DLC you bought.

The funny thing is, all this season pass crap, at that price should essentially be a whole new game right? I mean content-wise. What does it say when they are basically asking for the same amount of money for extra content that might just be supplemental and isn't as feature rich, required the same development time and resources (like ND rehashing old Uncharted maps) and isn't as expansive as the base game?

Nah, give the public some credit on this one... this is actually a really bad move by MS. People have learned with FM4 that the season pass (and VIP status and all that other bullshit) is a waste of money and doesn't have any value-adding properties at all. I'll buy the game for cheap on import from the UK once it's around $50 or lower, but that's it. I don't think people will be as trusting this time as any of the others.

Season passes in general are arse. From what I understand, enough people were dicked around with the Saint's Row 3 one as well to be wary of it.

Hopefully the game won't be gimped and we all wind up racing against black Jetta's of varying performance.
