Forza Horizon 5 comes to PS5 this Spring

It's not now though is it? You guys and the "one day it will" idea is just for now at best an educated guess. Let's look at the cold hard facts Hellblade 2 wasn't , Indiana Jones wasn't, Starfield wasn't, South of Midnight isn't, shall I continue? As it stands I'm right and you're wrong and that's a fact.

Weren't you one of the "only 4 games" guys and said the big franchises wouldn't come? I'm sure you was! Im summoning GHG GHG for some receipts.

If you own an Xbox you should really just cut your losses now. Sell your Xbox before it loses even more value. Get a ps5 and be happy.
Personally I don't think that will happen. Maybe sales will decrease even further but I doubt a lot of people who already own will sell their consoles. The real impact will be seen next gen. But at the same time, I am curious a out what the impact will be. Sales should decline, but will they really decline by much?

Uh, yeah. The incentive to buy an Xbox has just lessened tremendously! Outside of the most ardent fans, the decline is going to be big.
That was my first thought as well. I don't expect the next Xbox to sell as well as series X and S but are there really so many people interested in Xbox exclusives over there?. Xbox had so many barren years during Xbox one gen, yet people still bought series consoles. Will they suddenly stop buying the next Xbox just because their games are also on ps?. Maybe, I don't know and that's why I am curious about what next gen will bring. It's definitely an interesting market study. We all expect a decline, but what will be the magnitude of the decline?

Wow that thread is gold mine of people that thought it was only 4 games and that there was no chance it would be Forza for one.

From around the page before the one I linked it's full of delusional copium/hopium.

But like I said in the thread, for them to have still been hanging on and believing them at that stage you have to be delusional. It follows exactky the same pattern it did when they started also releasing their games on PC day one:

"The argument people give me is that 'hey, I'm just going to sell my Xbox One and play all these games on my PC'. I get the emotion around that argument.

Frankly, from a financial standpoint, the most cost-effective way to play these games is to own an Xbox One," Spencer said in an interview with IGN. "We're committed to bringing our biggest franchises to both Xbox and Windows, but it doesn't necessarily mean that every game could end up on both platforms. There could be many differences in the play space and how the games play."

Not every Xbox One game is coming to PC, says Phil Spencer

Microsoft promises that the Xbox One will still have its fair share of platform exclusives.

Fast forward a few years and what actually started happening was PC ended up getting it's fair share of exclusives from games they published. You couldn't write this stuff:

Three 2024 games from Microsoft that are on PC but not Xbox — Ara: History Untold, Towerborne, and the World of Warcraft expansion The War Within — are currently PC-only

I think the real problem is that so many people are still on the old gen. Those people will eventually upgrade and why would they stick with Xbox?

To be fair, Xbox was going to be shut down in the Xbox One era and even a year after Series released. Spencer did a good job of prolonging its death from a CEO that finds it a nuisance.

Quite the good game, PlayStation fans should buy this for the right price. Otherwise Game pass is really cheap and you can play this via x cloud or on your PC on a modest rig.

The magnitude has already shown itself. It’s why Microsoft has moved to this multiplatform strategy in the first place.

Nah. PS5 still does not have Soul Calibur HD, Ninja Gaiden Black/II, Forza Horizon 3/4, Max Payne 2/3, Rare Collection, Tekken 6/Tag 2, and all Dead or Alive games.

Now I can finally say it, FH5 is the worst FH game, imo. 3 was brilliant, 4 was great, 1&2 laid the foundations and were great in their own accord. 5 though, is derative and soulless. The map is as forgettable as recent AC games, the roads are too wide especially around corners, etc. You get too many cars too fast and end up not using the majority of them. Not to mention all the cringe that is there almost everywhere in this game, literal "how you doing, kids!!" energy that radiates out of it like a rusty mold.
Forza Horizon 5 has its merits even with all the issues you stated. One is EventLab, which has custom tracks built and shared by players. Another is better traction and handling (especially for rear-wheel drive vehicles). Third is Hot Wheels DLC, which has fun tracks with water slides, ice slides, and gravity-defying curves. Fourth is weekly challenges like treasure hunts and break the target. My only issue is their default shop has a limited selection. I have 20,000+ credits and I can't even get what I want at auction (which is an issue of its own in this installment with pricks buying up rarest vehicles and selling them for 20k maximum). At least return of FH4's backstage pass system gives a sense of hope that the desired cars will be available for a reasonable time investment in the near future.

P.S. I also like the goofy Donut Media story stuff.

They’d be mad to launch a next gen console next year.

What problem would it solve?

Who’d buy it?

Phil Spencer said he wants people to choose based on hardware capability. Not sure what that entails. Maybe it'll be the most powerful and have the best versions of their games but will it be enough of a difference to make it worth it? We'll have to wait and see what this new hardware is. I don't see anyone except the most hardcore xbox fans sticking with them when you can get more games on PlayStation.

Dangerous game to play.

If you're buying hardware purely based on capability then you just build a PC.

Even Microsoft probably don't expect it sell much though. Its just for the fans that want to stay in the ecosystem. They know most will jump over to PlayStation.
