Resident Evil 6 - Review Thread | Activist Reviews and the Hate Patrol Destroy Truth™

Game will still sell enough to give Capcom the incentive to continue digging the series into an even deeper hole. But like the battered spouse, I continue to have hope.

GAF fucked up. Twice.
Would you be satisfied with a third 2008 GoTY thread?

Let's see if you guys will finally be convinced that you are a minority and the majority loved MGS4.

As for Resi6... Holy fucking shit!! And lol @ GT removing their review :lol :lol

While I am not on board with there being some anti-Japanese games agenda, I do agree with this much. A popular game gets great reviews, then the mainstream gaming media is a joke, but if a popular game gets crucified, then they are all of the sudden saviors and are being fair and accurate, lol. But to their credit, this game does have obvious flaws, yet I still don't think it is 3/10 bad. That is broken game territory and this game is not broken, despite it's quirks and bad camera.

Nails it. This thread would have been the complete opposite if the reviews were mostly positive. All the people saying haha at the conspiracy posts would have made their own conspiracy posts just saying the opposite.

Everyone is out to prove something rather than just letting opinions be.

I don't think it will be a bad game maybe a love it or hate it game from everything I have seen I don't believe it's as bad as some say it is.

I look forward to playing it.

GAF fucked up. Twice.
Nope they were right on point both times.

Reading the reviews it seems like at least some of the issues are somewhat technical in nature, and possibly fixable by future patches. Hopefully, by the time the game comes to PC, it will be far more playable, because I'm kind of intrigued by the thought of multiple interlocking campaigns. Seems to offer a lot fo value for money - if the game is a fun ride.

I really don't mind the Michael Bay comparisons when it comes to action games. Crazy and over the top can be a lot of fun, and I'm not a survival horror fan.

I remember yesterday in the OT, when I claimed this game has terrible broken mechanic, generic/bland design from demo, I was literally covered of insults first because the demo wasn't enough explicit, than about my bad english & so on.

And now you've selectively found other people who said the same thing, among a large range of comments and opinions. What a surprise!

That's just graphics hype, which is warranted.

Regardless of your opinion, MGS is not at RE or FF levels yet. The last mainline game was well reviewed, won many awards, and was divisive at worst. As opposed to FFXIII, or indeed what appears to be the fate of RE6, which is universal loathing.

That's kind of what I'm worried about. The same thing has been happening to the Final Fantasy series for years. People will buy it cause Resident Evil and Capcom will think they did something right. It's like giving a dog treats for pooping on your bed.

I know I'll rent this somewhere, but man I kinda wish this whole series would just get burnt to the ground so they could start fresh. This thing looks like such a bloated disaster.

I really do wish to see Mikamis' reaction right now if he ever saw this and played the whole game. It would be an amazing sight that's for sure.

Yeah, 3/10 sounds like: don't buy this unless you're sad if the company goes bankrupt, because barely anyone will buy it or play it. Then again, I've seen many unfair scores (normally not on established franchises). Outbreak file 2 sits there with a 58 metacritic. Did that deter my enjoyment at all? No.

It's a message to let the series rest.

RIP Resident Evil 1996 - 2005

Unless it sells +5 million.

What could happen is that it sells well, but they take into consideration how this one was received. Everyone's issues with the Resident Evil series aside, the game lacks the polish of RE5 and in the world of reviews polish is king.

& what is the point? Fan never change, will support the game even in the hell.

My point is that your logic is the same as the people who blindly love it. You just happen to have the opposite opinion. Your posts are annoying, aggressive, and don't contribute to the discussion.

Not for the PS3 version of Skyrim lol.

That's just... wrong.

Although, I prefer the first Outbreak.

You can't jump or crouch whenever you want. (I don't see how this is really a problem.)

You mean like in the demo with Leon?...seems like those are avaliable as sooner as you fight an enemy. The quote is implying those movements are contextual every moment in the gameplay, which is just a lie...

Edit: I'm assuming of pressing L1 + X which is crouching/quick ducking...I can't imagine what else he's meaning

I don't know honestly. How I can contribute? It seems the same people who support it continues to claims it's good for them, extrapolate even conspirancies theory, I have seen yet someone does a step back even with reasonable argument. I can tries like yesterday, the good thing is at least will not to be covered of insults.

The reviews seems slightly lower than what RE5 was getting, yet people are reacting like a nuke just went off.

It's quite crazy the direction this thread is going:
People saying they are happy about low scores.
People defending a game they haven't played.
Reviewers being praised or crucified based on scores they gave other games in the past...no matter what genre.

I never knew there was this much passion for Resident Evil on gaf, it never seems be talked about at all. Who knew?

All I want to know is which version is better, 360 or PS3? I tried reading a review to find out, but game journalists are so bad nowadays they don't know how to talk about the technical details of a game....and instead review the story to great extent instead and then gloss over the actual mechanics working the game.

Still in the midst of playing through the game (it is so. fucking. long.) but the review will be up as soon as possible.

What exactly makes it so much worse than 5? Will you cover that in your review?

Slightly lower?

RE6 has a 69

RE5 has an 84.
