You are the best junior of all time. :D

Why is he calling a female superior Sir? Other than that little thing the episode was good, obviously it was not going to blow everybody's mind but still a good introduction.

That's probably why he keeps getting in trouble. Going around calling women "sir" is a sure fire way to get yourself in the bad books.

Just finished watching it... Pretty good. Loving the art style... Nice and clean. I get that the first episode was just setting it up, but next time I want to see more action. (Which comes out in a week, no? or is it two weeks?)

Everyone at CAMS is sir. Every superior officer regardless of gender. You will see more of this later.

Some cheesy moments/lines in there though

Hmm. I always wonder why people keep complaining about cheesyness or melodrama, or just pointing them out. Real life has quite a bit of those, though usually only an outsider would notice that.
I don't mind cheesyness in film/TV/literature, as long as it ain't overdone (unless it is a parody).

Visually, FUD is pretty good though the desaturation filter sucks.
Music is good.
Reach-like windmills and the stun rounds from Contact Harvest are nice touches.

The shaky cam was done on purpose, and poorly too.

Eh, I'm the opinion that any shakycam is usually bad shakycam.

Aside from the stylistic parts I didn't like (Demoncarnotaur was right!) some solid performances and a nice pace. Looking forward to seeing how this pans out.

Everything I do in life is cool. No cheese around these parts.

Because Battlestar Galactica did it? The whole thing looks like it was heavily inspired by that show. It's like the world's most expensive BSG fanfic, complete with casting a budget version of Michelle Forbes, which I wholeheartedly approve of.

I enjoyed it, it certainly looks good... but holy crap, I couldn't be more sick of boot camp stories. The Covies really need to hurry up and ruin their day already.

For some reason both of us didn't actually expect the Reach Japanese journal to actually be translated to Japanese.
That's cool. Looks like they got a more convincing handwriting font, too.

I thought Part 1 was pretty good. Nothing was jaw dropping or anything but it was exciting enough that I'm looking forward to the next episode.

I enjoyed the first episode. I had no expectations whatsoever and just enjoyed the character building and new world. FWIW I really disliked the Bourne Supremacy for all the camera shaking in that movie, and I thought FUD Episode 1 was not nearly as bad. The problem with movies and tv shows today is that everyone is a film expert and critic lol. I don't need perfectly framed shots with perfect lighting to enjoy a good story, which is all I really want. Anna Popplewell you have my attention.
