Nihilistic: "It is not our call to put Zombies Mode in BO: Declassified."

Adding modes is +money to (x) budget.

Whoever is bankrolling it, which seems to be Sony, would be the one with the ultimate call on whether another mode gets added.

So it has no story, no zombies, no 60fps and a limited multiplayer mode that has none of the new features added in BLOPS 2.

I wonder how many months they have been working on this game. Bet they didnt even start on it until after Resistance Vita shipped.

Has this been confirmed? I know this was an assumption around E3 time because Sony published the last couple Nihilistic games, but they are an independent studio.
We don't have an outright statement of such, no. The circumstances around the game, and Activision's general lack of knowledge about the game point to a supervisory role at best. Basically, "don't fuck up the franchise. Have fun while I go count my money."

I will gladly retract if anyone has solid proof otherwise.

That's a sound bet. I don't care if they delay it. Get it polished, damn it. Even Burning Skies was a rush to put out a FPS on the platform.

Did you play Resistance: BS? If so, were the graphics better than that game?

Did the game feel like cod?how were the visuals?

*posting from the Event thread

I played a little of resistance BS it was better in terms of visuals and way better in terms of the feeling of the game. With Cod I've played probably everyone that released this Gen the gameplay feels very similar to the feel of Black Ops though a little more rough. You could easily drop three people in quick succession and get killstreaks with ease. It takes some getting used to the Vita analogs however and it seems as if there is more recoil and gun bounce when you get shot then the original black ops. Though that may be attributed to the attachments and perks. I was using a standard Galil in my playthrough. The map we played on was basically shipment from Cod 4.

The visuals looked a lot better in person on the vita then from that trailer on the internet to compare its like how Mortal Kombat looked really bad in videos and online trailers but when you actually play it looks better. Someone even complimented it visually while I was playing they said "it looks really good for a handheld".

Not a game breaking issue but shows a lack of attention to detail. Sure its not the only thing overlooked and it just adds to the saying rush job. Im gonna pick the game up too. I love games is all I have to say on that lol

Or, you know, maybe technical limitations. We really don't know what it could be.

I'm honestly not surprised in the least, they're not a good developer, they're likely working with a small budget and little time, and the game seems to be made solely to see if the idea sticks on the Vita.

Why the hell wouldn't it have zombies? That's part of the whole "Black Ops" legacy now. Putting out a BLOPS without that mode just says "incomplete" to me.

So, coming from someone who has played every CoD this gen, feels very similar to Black Ops, very fun to play, and visually looks really good for a handheld.

Promising.

I'm gonna buy the game for the sole purpose that I have a 3 hour gap in between classes. Fuck it I wanna see for myself. Buying it can't hurt because I can trade it in sooner or later.

As long as it has Spec-Ops, then no problem. Spec-Ops is far and away the better of the two modes. Amazingly fun. It has Spec-Ops, right?

Who am I kidding, I don't even own a Vita.

The entire game is Spec-Ops. Similar to Unit 13 with a list of missions, and no story mode, right?

I don't know if you seen my post above that one but I honestly thought the game was gonna be terrible. I was at the Playstation holiday event saw the game and wasn't planning to play it at all. The only reason I played it was because one of my friends was like lets just try it. We played a round and each of us were like that actually wasn't bad and it was pretty fun. These are also people who play COD even more then I do and they don't even own Vita's. They said that they would pick it up if they had a Vita. We were even gonna give it another go before the event ended but we didn't get the chance. The play through definitely turned me around.

Great put a shitty developer on the most important title for the vita than say the system cant even sell a COD when the real problem is lack of a quality port.

That tweet sounds like Nihilistic is doing the bare minimum. Making a FPS game that's styled after Call of Duty. No more and no less. They were really shooting for the moon there.

This is probably the point where negotiations broke down.

Nihilisitic: Hey, we were hoping to get approval to create a zombie mode for BO: Declassified.

Activision: What the fuck is BO: Declassified?

Did it look like this.

Yeah it was similar.

edit: I thought you were talking about my previous post in relation to the one you quoted didn't see the video you posted until after I don't know if you edited it in or not. It didn't look like that graphically it was way more rough it looked like a vita game and it didn't look as smooth either. The UI had the grenade icon and the knife icon on the right side of the screen which you could see through. On the left hand of the screen was the scoreboard, and kill streaks.

It's funny that anyone is trying to suggest zombies were kept out of this game because of Sony. Why on earth would Sony NOT want zombies in this game? It makes absolutely no sense.

Nihilistic was probably given a tight budget to make this game, and thus they weren't included. Activision is the only one who can make it happen.

and now n-space no longer develops call of duty games

conspiracy

Dun dun dun.
They probably put more effort into that then Nihilistic is now.

I actually want this too be good, but I prefer co-op to competitive multiplayer.
So this will have to out-do Unit 13 to get a purchase from me.

The thing I don't understand is that if Sony is bankrolling the game why didn't they got a good developer and tried to make a great FPS because the game was announced almost 2 years ago.

It only makes sense if Activision said "nevermind, we are not making a game for Vita" late last year and Sony had to rush Nihilistic to reskin their FPS game.

It's not necessarily a bad thing, imagine:

Bioshock Vita by Nihilistic
Borderlands Vita by Nihilistic
Angry Birds Vita by Nihilistic
GTA SAS Vita by Nihilistic
Gears of War Vita by Nihilistic
Left 4 Dead Vita by Nihilistic
Half Life Vita by Nihilistic
Portal Vita by Nihilistic
Dragon Quest Vita by Nihilistic
Final Fantasy Vita by Nihilisitic
Kingdom Hearts Vita by Nihilistic
Monster Hunter Vita by Nihilistic
MGS Vita by Nihilistic
Elder Scroll Vita by Nihilistic
Fallout Vita by Nihilistic
RDR Vita by Nihilistic
Battlefield Vita by Nihilistic
Mass Effect Vita by Nihilistic
Dead Space Vita by Nihilistic
Diablo Vita by Nihilistic
Resident Evil Vita by Nihilistic
Gran Turismo Vita by Nihilistic
The Last of Us Vita by Nihilistic
God of War Vita by Nihilistic

And since a longer dev time doesn't mean a damn thing with Nihilistic, this means they can all be out by next year. At least you get all the major 3rd party franchises and 3 bonus 1st party franchises on vita.

Nietszche approves this post.

Really don't know why Sony has so much faith in these guys. They're awful and this game is going to be awful.

I don't think it's so much faith, so much as they must work cheap.

The minute the Vita was even an idea at Sony, they should have formed an internal FPS team. It's a very important genre in the West, if not the most important genre. Yet it's been essentially ignored.

At this point I guess its guess is fair to say more time money and effort is being put into porting black ops 2 tothe wii u than there is into tthis ground up new game

I don't want to be the devil's advocate but flying rounds are present
i6l8PzEhrV58t.gif

And as reported recently visuals have improved since gamescom
http://www.psvita-mod.com/forum/sho...suals-have-improved-dramatically-quot-PS-Vita

can't stop staring at the random light at the corner.

It was obvious from the get go that Activision really doesn't want anything to do with this. Sony needed something for Vita in the west so Moneyhatted enough for Activision to say fine make a COD game.

I don't get the thinking "this will sell because it's COD."

Has any COD game outside of the mainline games on consoles ever sold well? The iOS ones seem to do ok, but never live near the top of the charts. Did the DS ones do anything at all?

I want the vita to succeed, i love the device and most of the games... but this idea that just because its COD it will sell seems absolutely silly to me. People who play call of duty have no use for a shittier version of call of duty, they already have the real one.
