Origin $20 off coupon [Expired - EA states they're honoring games]

So now that this is over, I gotta remember to merge all my Origin accounts together. I'll give it a month or two before I ask them about it. I'm sure their chat is going to be filled with "I WANT MY FREE THING TOO OR I'LL SUE YOU AND OWN THE COMPANY!" for the next few weeks.

I knew EA would do jack shit, my guess is they straight up can't do anything and the issue lies with Digital River. We all know they would remove the games if they could, it's EA we are talking about here.
 
I'm sure the investors will be pleased at the amount of downloaded games.

Got only Darkspore and I'm good. Too much shit to play atm anyway.

EA swaps games around on people's accounts all the time. Pretty much the only way to redeem certain older games at some points.
 
I managed to get 15, not everything. Gave up when it got frustrating, but pretty happy getting a few games i actually wanted to play, namely Burnout, Hot Pursuit and Shift 2 :)

Really glad they aren't going to do anything about this. Like many have said, this is probably good for them. I'm suddenly using Origin, which I really didn't think I would.

I know I'm LTTP but Crysis is pretty fucking cool so far.
 
Can a mod chime in on wether it's ok to trade Origin accounts in the trade thread? I'm thinking maybe not but it doesn't hurt to ask.
 
Ended up with $340 worth of games, but really, that's about $50 in the US. :P They sure like to price gouge Aussies.

Trading accounts is bannable in terms of the providers. You cannot sell Steam, Origin and more account. Whether its bannable here is questionable but companies will ban the account, rendering the trade useless.

You will get bitched at to no end for doing that kind of shit in that thread. People were trying to sell those $10 toys r us PC games in there for a profit and it sent the whole thread to shit for like 48 hours.

But, people have sold accounts in there. Pretty sure I've seen Guild Wars 2 and Diablo 3 accounts sell.

Funny, I got a survey email and it gave me the OS3874XVC code. I thought maybe it was different, but it wasn't. EA expiring the code a week early is kinda stupid, but ah well.

Yeah, remember when people got all those Microsoft points and Xbox Live Gold time for free using exploits and Microsoft banned them? Because I don't.

I don't get why you'd throw a dig at Microsoft when it's not like they do shit like that all the time.

Points/gold exploits have been through 3rd party sources and not directly through xbox.com from what I remember. Correct me if I'm wrong. So not sure Microsoft could've done anything if they wanted to.

There was this exploit that allowed you to download the full version of Fable 2. Microsoft later revoked the game from your download list. The game is still sitting in my hard drive but once the game is deleted it's gone for good since I'm not able to redownload it.
 
Nice to see they are letting people keep the games. Makes me even more disappointed that i missed out on the Sims 2, Crysis: Warhead and Dragon age 2. I got all the others i wanted but missed those.

Why not? Create an account on Xbox.com before starting the game, if that's the issue.

There was paypal promotion through Xbox.com, where you could get as many months of XBL for $1 (i got 16 and then got bored).

You should download the latest GFWL installer from MS site. Unless Origin prompt you to do that already. You should just create an live account on the website as suggested above.

Yeah, I merged an Origin account before. All they do is move your games and EA over to the other address. They even give you new keys and keep your old keys working.

Microsoft could easily revoke points and Gold deals if there was "fraud" involved. That wouldn't take much issue. Also,I'll concede that they shouldn't have taken away those copies of Fable II (although it sounds like it was a slight error in making EP1 free), nobody got banned like what was being suggested.

My point was, jumping in and saying "so and so would've banned people" isn't really fair if there aren't equally comparable situations to back up that claim.

- Have your CD Keys ready for the accounts you want to merge.

- Start a live chat with EA Support.

- Tell them you want to merge Origin accounts to simplify your life or whatever story you wish to tell them. Make sure to explain that you have the CD Keys for verification.

- Wait until it's done (mine took a half hour).

- Thank your support agent and offer a digital high-five for the help.

- Enjoy.

You can do as many as you want, I guess. As long as your info is the same on all of them.

The in-game version of GFWL is worthless. Nothing ever works and the error messages it gives you aren't indicative of the error. Just go to xbox.com and make a free account there. If you need to patch GFWL I think you can do that outside of a game too.

@GraveRobberX: unrelated to the coupon deals, I bought BF3 secondhand from someone, sadly wouldn't play on my origin. Seller was generous to give his account details afterwards, so if I can merge that one, will be great. :)
