Ooh, quad core mini. Will it have decent graphics - maybe the 650m? And are they easy to install an SSD in? I could replace the lounge mini and move that one to the spare room

That's weird. My wife rented Magic Mike from Amazon last weekend. It's also available now on Xbox/PS3/iTunes but not on Amazon. I have run into weird situations in the past where a movie is on Amazon for rental, but not on any other, and vice versa. Maybe some studios offer exclusivity periods.

I dunno. But just looking at the 12 new releases featured on my Amazon instant video front page, several are not available to rent that are available on iTunes, but not vice versa. This is more often than not the case with new releases in my experience.

Prices are still generally better with Amazon when it comes to purchases though. That's why I feel a combination of the two is the best bet, as neither is perfect for everything I would want. I find the Netflix/Amazon Prime situation to be the same way.

Lol. Just woke up and before going online I was thinking to myself, "It would be cool if they streamed it to AppleTVs at least." Gotta fire up the tv in a bit.

To be fair, they had a quad core mini before. There's one on my desk (i7 model).

I've heard they are a bit of a pain to open; fragile fan assembly.

I wouldn't think so, there's been no leaks so no redesign. It would just be a spec refresh like the Mini at most
I'd be happy with a spec refresh but prior rumors have suggested a redesign too. But yeah all the leaks have been iPad/Mac Mini/Retina 13 so my hopes are fading...

There's a rumor that new iMacs might not be part of the thing today? SAY IT AIN'T SO.

I thought the only rumour of that was the one that said the iPad Mini was the only release today? Which is clearly bunk.

There has been an alleged internals picture leak. But that does infer no significant redesign.

Which would be a-okay with me. I just want a less crazy priced SSD option, USB 3 and a spec bump. A redesign would probably do something stupid like remove the optical drive.

Doesn't look like it.

It's my own fault for getting my hopes up every time there's a new event, but this is getting tiring.

Over the summer, Cook hinted that a new Mac Pro would be coming in 2013. I wouldn't be surprised if the new iMacs coincide with that. That way, next year's big reveal could be Retina iMacs and Cinema Displays.

Edit: Still could be a refresh with a spec bump. But it'll probably be something that just appears in the store and isn't mentioned (or mentioned much) onstage. Be glad if I'm wrong, though!

I'm definitely expecting the redesigned iMacs to coincide with the retina displays next year. Maybe a spec bump today though?

Yeah, but I believe they later clarified that they were only talking about the Mac Pro specifically, leaving the iMac open to at least some sort of update this year.

A spec bump on the iMacs would be so welcome. I don't need a new shell or anything. and I don't care if it's mentioned on stage. just ship that shit to the store!

Yeah, I like the Netflix Amazon combo. Neither have great movie selections, but both have solid TV options.
