Groovy giraffe CMC gif is still better, but this is up there, right below.

Overall, a really enjoyable episode. A little less sophisticated than the average, but it's the CMC - they exist to talk to kids and to be cute and silly. And we love 'em all the same for it.

Hell no.

Actually I prefer them when it's a "CMC" episode - i.e. they exist only to serve as plot devices for the episode's conflict without focusing much on themselves (e.g. Hearts and Hooves, that Pony Express ep).

As far as I can tell you don't like any aspect of the show.

Extended synopsis for Sleepless in Ponyville.

Synopsis: “Sleepless in Ponyville”: Over a campfire, Rainbow Dash decides to share some imaginative and spooky tales, causing Scootaloo to have frightening, vivid nightmares; Scootaloo wants to get rid of her nightmares but doesn't want the others to think she is spineless.

Wow, they are trying so hard to avoid just calling her a chicken.

Sounds like a fun episode.

Not as strong as last week's episode, but the song was miles beyond anything the opening two-parter had. Decent episode all-in-all.

But "Don't bully me or I'll tell your parents"? Ooh, burn. [/sarcasm]

Just call her a dodo.

Well, we know Diamond Tiara's father is a decent pony. Both in the show, and in the future.

So they will be on a camping trip? I knew they are not gonna show where Scootaloo lives.

The amount of repetition in the song both visually and musically was a little much.

My thoughts exactly. I mean the visuals were great at first, but them reusing practically the same visuals for the reprise was a bit of letdown. It seems like the song was too short and was hastily extended to properly fill time. Looking forward to the remixes.

Also, I just couldn't understand the kind of accent Babs Seed VA (Bryan "Ocean Vegeta" Drummond's daughter it seems) was supposed to be emulating and it bugged the crap out of me.

Also, lack of Derpy is really worrisome :/

Other than that the CMC were totally adorable and the episode was okay (but not as good as last week's IMO and definitely the weakest Cindy Morrow has contributed)

I don't know if I would say it was her weakest episode. While I agree with the issues about the song being repetitive, I think the episode was pretty solid otherwise. Certainly not her best work, but I don't know if I would rank it low. She certainly has a good handle on the CMC though.

Wow, that's terrible. I'd take how to sleep shenanigans over "spineless" crap.

Declaring to ignore someone in the most obvious way is kinda hilarious.

I dunno, at least the opening two-parter has a nice premise and some really good moments, crystal ponies and underwhelming villain aside.

So there was a good song in the last episode afterall.

And Next Weeks Episode!

Magic Duel
When Trixie makes her way back to Ponyville, as "Great and Powerful" as ever, she decides to prove her might once and for all by challenging and defeating Twilight Sparkle in a duel of magic, causing the latter pony to be exiled from the town.

I want to like it, but I can't think of any reason to bring Trixie back other than pandering. I'm hoping for an "it was all a dream" ending.

I didn't really like this episode, mostly because I don't think it effectively tackled the subject of bullying (sacrifice yourself to save your bully and win their heart, and "tell an adult" aren't really solutions, although telling an adult can't hurt, and it's the most risk-free advice).

Just the other day I came off of watching SFDebris' review of Avatar the Last Airbender, in which he explained that he doesn't agree with fans who say that Azula's not a monster, that she's really a good person, and it's the world's fault, because the world made her a monster. He explained how (in his opinionated opinion) it's your choices that define you who are, and what you do now that matters, not your upbringing. Zuko chose to become a better person. Azula didn't.

Babs chose to become worse. And she didn't seem to show any signs of guilt or remorse while she actively and aggressively made the CMC miserable (just some occasional blank-flank shame). I don't think Babs was doing it out of fear of DT and SS, I think as a former victim, she liked the role reversal. She bullied Applebloom out of her own bed. DT and SS weren't in her bedroom.

When the CMC learned why Babs was a jerk, I don't think it should have stopped their plan to get even. Standing up to bullies and fighting back is just one more slice of the anti-bullying formula, even if you have to plan and strategize in order to compensate for weakness (interestingly, The A-Team frequently armed people to deal with bullying situations). And yeah, attacking your bully is a great way to provoke your own butt kicking, but that kind of retaliatory strike is usually just a required response, and afterwards you might find yourself less-targeted, since you're not worth the trouble.

The CMC seemingly stopped their attack (and took the hit for themselves) because of pity, but pitying your bully, and especially letting your bully know that you pity them, is often a really bad idea, because that sort of emotional attack cuts deep and may make a bully want to shut you up by making sure you never pity them again.

But... kids show in the modern world. They're not going to advocate violence.

Also, Apple Jack, the responsible adult, is probably to blame for this episode, because she deliberately didn't tell the CMC that Babs was coming to town to deal with insecurity issues regarding her blank flank, she just allowed the CMC to get all "CMC" up in Babs' face unsupervised, as everyone knew they would. I think I approve of setting up powder kegs, but you're at least supposed to watch them in case they explode, silly pony.

Okay-ish episode, but the treatment of bullying was a bit off. I know that it is a kid's show and all that jazz, but the Zecora episode dealed with racism in a far more mature and subtle manner than most shows on the TV (even if by the end of the day it was clearly aimed at kids).

I mean, they got the whole bulling pattern right: people start to make you feel miserable just because, you fall easily on a "spiral of silence", and bullies got motivated most of times due to family issues, yes. But the way they dealed with was anything but realistic or ideal. I mean, this, right here:

The CMC seemingly stopped their attack (and took the hit for themselves) because of pity, but pitying your bully, and especially letting your bully know that you pity them, is often a really bad idea, because that sort of emotional attack cuts deep and may make a bully want to shut you up by making sure you never pity them again.

Is the very truth of the matter. Bullies might be wounded individuals with issues (and horrible persons, too), but they are always stopped by force, let it be the one enforced by a higher authority (parents, teachers, etc) or ye old force of violence. Reality is rarely politically correct.

I found the episode funny and the song good (didnt found it repetitive at all, and much better than the songs from the first two episodes).
The treatment of the moral is a little bit bad, but well, not that horrible IMO. I didnt like that Babs went full bully mode just to not be bullied the way it was presented (the CMC being super firendly just seconds ago with her and wanting her to have a good time).
Sweetie Bell best thing of the episode.

In my country bullying is not a common thing, so i don't know much about it, except that the american cartoons make it look like a ordinary and obligatory thing in life.

At least that episode o MLP show a bullying like something that can be tolerable or accept.

Kind of a meh season so far.

-EP 1/2 was boring and almost made me stop watching
-EP 3 was pretty enjoyable, I want more episodes like these.
-EP 4 CMC episode, bleh.
