Overall, a really enjoyable episode. A little less sophisticated than the average, but it's the CMC - they exist to talk to kids and to be cute and silly. And we love 'em all the same for it.
Hell no.
Actually I prefer them when it's a "CMC" episode - i.e. they exist only to serve as plot devices for the episode's conflict without focusing much on themselves (e.g. Hearts and Hooves, that Pony Express ep).
Never thought I'd find someone on Ponygaf that could irritate me enough to go on my ignore list.
I don't think one has to go that far, everyone's opinion is valid.Never thought I'd find someone on Ponygaf that could irritate me enough to go on my ignore list.
Extended synopsis for Sleepless in Ponyville.
Synopsis: Sleepless in Ponyville: Over a campfire, Rainbow Dash decides to share some imaginative and spooky tales, causing Scootaloo to have frightening, vivid nightmares; Scootaloo wants to get rid of her nightmares but doesn't want the others to think she is spineless.

Just call her a dodo.Wow, they are trying so hard to avoid just calling her a chicken.
Not as strong as last week's episode, but the song was miles beyond anything the opening two-parter had. Decent episode all-in-all.
But "Don't bully me or I'll tell your parents"? Ooh, burn. [/sarcasm]

The amount of repetition in the song both visually and musically was a little much.
My thoughts exactly. I mean the visuals were great at first, but them reusing practically the same visuals for the reprise was a bit of letdown. It seems like the song was too short and was hastily extended to properly fill time. Looking forward to the remixes.
Also, I just couldn't understand the kind of accent Babs Seed VA (Bryan "Ocean Vegeta" Drummond's daughter it seems) was supposed to be emulating and it bugged the crap out of me.
Also, lack of Derpy is really worrisome :/
Other than that the CMC were totally adorable and the episode was okay (but not as good as last week's IMO and definitely the weakest Cindy Morrow has contributed)

Yeah, she's only had some obscure back-shots in crowds so far this season. Also, lack of Derpy is really worrisome :/
So this is four episodes without Derpy. RIP.
And that's why you never pander to fans with controversial stuff.
When Trixie makes her way back to Ponyville, as "Great and Powerful" as ever, she decides to prove her might once and for all by challenging and defeating Twilight Sparkle in a duel of magic, causing the latter pony to be exiled from the town.
Derpy should never have been controversial in the first place.
So too early to tell on jumping the shark for fandom pandering?
Before I can judge your comment, I need to know first if you've seen Skyfall. The creators of a work making sure their product is enjoyable to their fans will never negatively impact it.
"Pandering" is the stupidest complaint I've ever heard.
But pandering is terrible!
What, you consider Skyfall pandering or something? Before I can judge your comment, I need to know first if you've seen Skyfall.
So there was a good song in the last episode afterall.

Good song, but there is a true good song inside this episode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rghFcaAuxaQ
Wasn't that in a previous episode?

The montage in Dragonshy.
There is good pandering and bad pandering. Unfortunately, the bad pandering gets all the attention and people end up generalizing. It's like bronies, actually. But pandering is terrible!
The CMC seemingly stopped their attack (and took the hit for themselves) because of pity, but pitying your bully, and especially letting your bully know that you pity them, is often a really bad idea, because that sort of emotional attack cuts deep and may make a bully want to shut you up by making sure you never pity them again.
