They apparently turned it down. Didn't want to play Louisiana-Monroe because of bad blood between the schools.

Edit: And I still don't get the point of allowing waivers for teams like UCLA last year and GaTech. If they win the CCG game in that situation, fine. Send them in. But if they lose? Stay home. You have 7 fucking losses. And likely an 8th. If La Tech turned it down, then that's on them of course. But my overall point still stands!

The two team rule is BS. I'd bet that Notre Dame stuck that in there to prevent getting blocked out. Even if that's not true, the tide better roll over ND hard.

No, because he's right. Bama was terrible against A&M, and I say this as a Bama fan.
I'm not sure what changed, honestly. I remember those years. Is it that most of the BCS conferences just suck so bad? Or are the bowl committees in cahoots to put horrible teams in their games that nobody will come to or watch?

Compared to Rustin, Shreveport is a resort. Trust me, I went to church camp in Rustin some years back and I felt like I was in chrenobyl. The town was cold and overcast the entire week, desolate, and you would see the occasional puddle of vomit on the sidewalks....never again

Come on now. Northern Illinois beat Central Michigan, a team which upset Iowa, who in turn defeated MAC powerhouse Northern Illinois.
The transitive property is thus clear on two fronts: NIU's true signature win, and the fact that NIU is better than itself.

Problem is you'll have team that will tank to not make the CCG if it will cost them a bowl.
Big 12 was soft and loss to ND was only chance for quality non-conference win. They need to do better than UTEP as "difficult" non-conference game #2
How would they do that without making themselves ineligible in the process?

Texas scheduled an SECSECSEC opponent. Not their fault the rest of the conference tried for cupcakes.
You scheduled Ole Miss. Ole Miss. That would be like thumping your chest about scheduling a B1G team when you played Indiana or Michigan.

They have 2 teams ranked in the AP top 25.
(Now, here's hoping the big Pac-12/Big-12 3 bowl series works out in the Pac's favor
