Honest question: Did the players delink again in the last proposal when the owners got all pissy and took their ball home? My understanding was they didn't.
I still don't get why Crosby is attending the meetings.

Fuck. It can't be worse then the drop off from Season 4 to 5 of Dexter.....

"Both (sides) were very respectful of each other," Hainsey said. "They were good meetings, they were productive, we did make progress. We were very appreciative of the way we were treated in the meetings by the owners. ... Maybe it's something that is worth revisiting and worthwhile and could possibly bring us closer to a deal."
Right now, I just hope we see NHL players in NHL rinks. And thats no guarantee, either.
I just hope when the season is cancelled early in january the owners withdraw their current proposal and go back to the very first one they offered
There is only room for one god in this thread, and it isn't TeamHope's.
4) Take a 120% worse offer in July than you could have had in any of Oct/Nov/Dec.
Yeah, Im gonna get with #4.
Apparently the current player's vote has 3 options:

1) Keep stalling
2) Take it up the pooper
3) LOL
Well he is obviously the perfect representation of your average player and is well educated in the business world...lol
Just watched the Hobbit trying to forget about Team Hope, and it was so good. Loved every second of it.
If you enjoyed LOTR you should love it. I don't understand where all the criticism is coming from.Happy to hear it. I'll check it out in January at some point.

But seriously, what's been going on in these negotiations lately? The season going to be a total loss, or what?
Let's hope so.
Yup. I have no idea how I feel anymore given how low both sides have gone. Pathetic.

Not sure whether or not I'm on Team Hope or Nope. I choose to stay neutral and be on Team Dope.
This will never fucking happen, Forza. Why rush back to a 48 game joke of a season filled with injuries and sloppy hockey for half of that season?
Take the year off, get rid of some of teams and come back with a better product.

RNH with the steely-eyed gaze of a stone professional fucking killer. Messier looked like a mewling paper-boy caught in the rain in comparison to this leader of men.

The NHL is never, never ever ever, going to contract and drop to 28 or 26 teams. I don't know why people assume that's even a possibility.
Not that I'm in the camp of the league contracting, but there were people saying Winnipeg would never get an NHL team back anytime soon, but it happened all of a sudden. I was certainly in that camp.
I didn't expect it to be the Thrashers, though. You guys remember the Thrashers?
Weren't they a wrestling tag team in the 80s?
Don't think it's been posted yet but here's TSN's broadcasting schedule for the World Juniors:
http://www.tsn.ca/world_jrs/feature/?id=4124
I'm assuming there will be quite a few streams up, especially with it being in Russia. Timing of the games sucks as, but excited to have 3 big prospects to watch on 3 different teams.Does anyone know a good way to view the games while overseas? One of those random streaming sites I guess?
I have zero prospects to watch on zero teams.I'm assuming there will be quite a few streams up, especially with it being in Russia. Timing of the games sucks as, but excited to have 3 big prospects to watch on 3 different teams.
That's what you get for having a President's Trophy winning team loser! Sub .500 seasons are where it's at.I have zero prospects to watch on zero teams.

Nicklas Jensen would have easily qualified for the world juniors. The problem is that his team can't qualify at all. That's what you get for having a President's Trophy winning team loser! Sub .500 seasons are where it's at.

Gaunce and Corrado would've both made it onto Team Canada if it weren't for the lock out either.
I'm happy with our pool considering our garbage picks.
Habs fan's would have had 4 prospects to watch, if team France wasn't garbage. Lockout definitely fucked over some prospects, but it will be nice if they can get gold back.
Who do you cheer for Smiley seeing as you're a turncoat, and racist?
He's a very good defensive center that can put up points. Team Canada loves role players and he fills a bottom six shutdown or 13th specialist role perfectly. Plus, the fact that he can play any forward positions would've helped his case a lot.Gaunce? You sure?
First Switzerland, then Canada. Given that they're in 2 different groups, it shouldn't create too much friction. If they play each other, I cheer for Switzerland.
Esp given I have no Canucks prospects to cheer for...
On another note: I have tickets for a Davos-x game at the Spengler Cup, with x being Canada if they lose their first group game. So I'll actually be actively cheering for Canada to lose their first game, so I get to see them play Davos. Aka Nash/Thornton vs Team Canada.
