So? Wasn't Lost just as hamfisted nonsensical and amateurishly written as well? At some point you just care that much about the characters that it doesn't even matter what spaced out nonsense happens around them, you travelled the road down with them and want to see how it ends.
And that's what MGS4 delivered.

MGS4 delivered a steaming hot turd from Koj's asnus right into his salivating fanbase's mouths.

Begins first hour is fucking blockbuster entertainment nirvana. I still really like the second half, but everything up until Falcone is attached to the skylight is incredible.

Its the most focused Batman story out of all three movies. Nolan nailed the origins and just who Batman is. Yeah many different incarnations and different takes over the years but Batman Begins is all who and what Batman is to me.

Just brilliant. First time I went to see a movie in IMAX as well.

TDK and TDKR are awesome as well but always a notch below. I love how Nolan established Batman first and then used BB to tell different stories/ideas he wanted to with the other characters in the universe.

Nolan was once the golden child of NeoGAF and now people shit upon him with no remorse. He has become the Harvey Dent of GAF...

Yeah its his fault too what with getting too much praise and being popular.

I liked TDKR more before I rewatched it. I thought it was pretty decent with a handful of flaws before.

Now I just see it as a huge fuckup by Nolan who was phoning it in.

How? WTF? Phoning it in? By wasting that much money, time, and effort?

Phoning it in would be mean going all CGI instead of his usual reliance on practical effects or releasing a 90 minute movie. I get you don't like it but how in the world did he phone it in? If anything I always get the feeling there was so much he wanted to do and show that he crammed too much into one movie.

Ducard is a ninja with a vested interest in Bruce, of course he found him.

The incognito bit seemed to work for everyone else in the world during his 7 years abroad.

Pfft. The whole thing took like ten seconds.

No you see that sort of inconsistency plus the less than 10 seconds of flashback ruin the movie. Oh yeah also the music sucked, the dialogue sucked, and everything!
Also why was Alfred against Bruce becoming Batman this time around? Why would he change his mind or view on things after 8 years? So much laziness.

Seeing Begins again in theaters for the trilogy showing was fantastic. I was actually more excited to see it more than The Dark Knight for the showing since I had only seen it once in theaters in 2005.

I so wish I was able to do this.

Was it as awesome as it sounded?

lol @ the claim of Nolan phoning it in. I watched TDKR's behind the scenes last night and couldn't believe all the shit he insisted on doing for this movie.

I suppose it was only a matter of time before you clowns would get so tired of discussing this movie that fucking Metal Gear would get dragged into the fray.

This is unacceptable.

UNACCEPTABLE.

Quick random question for you guys....which did you enjoy more....TDKR or Looper?

Looper made about as much sense as TDKR, but it was far more entertaining and I cared about the characters more - which kind of makes me scratch my head since TDKR has two films worth of characterization going into it that feels utterly wasted and trampled upon.

Looper, a lot more. Though it slows down at the barn and TDKR had the better ending.

Nitpicking about details in TDKR but applauding this piece of nonsensical time-travel crap? Some of you have become so bitter because of their own high expecation that weren't matched I believe.

The timetravel expect which was the crucial centerpiece of the movie made no sense whatsoever.

Read my post above.

This completely hits the nail on the head, as far as i'm concerned. Most people point to plot holes, as to why they didn't like The Dark Knight Rises. For me though, it's simply that it left me cold and this is from someone that still finds Begins very emotional, even having seen it probably five or six times by now.

For the record though, I still like the film. I just consider it a disappointment.

I'm scratching my head only because of the plural used in characters. Who do we really have in the TDK Trilogy to care about? It's only Bruce. The side-characters give us nothing. I don't even know why the line was dropped that Gordon and his wife split. It never gets mentioned again, it doesn't get picked up again at ending, nothing. JGL, Hathaway, Caine, Freeman, you name them: They don't care. They are just vehicles to move forward Bruce's character/story.

But the same goes for Looper unless you count the main character as two (future/present) which would be a fair assumption. But none the less. Do we really care about any other person in this movie? I personally didn't. Even if it's a little boy. And I can't say I cared about Bruce Willis / JGL more than about Bruce Wayne.

In BB/TDK I very much cared about Bruce/Gordon/Alfred and even Harvey.

I didn't give a fuck about anybody in TDKR because that is when they turned into carbon copies of themselves, ceased to be characters and were just used to forced plot devices.

In Looper I cared about JGL/Willis plus the mother/child combo. And not only did Looper lack two preceding films, it didn't go for nearly three hours either. It's fucking amazing how much bullshit there is to wade through in TDKR with Bane and Catwoman and JGL while all the characters I previously gave a shit about are watching from the sidelines and not doing anything of value when they do get their brief moment in the sun.

Like I said, Nolan phoned that shit in hard.

Can't agree with that at all. For me TDKR has some moments with it's characters which were just pure bliss to witness, like Bruce finally climbing out of the pit and him returning to Gotham and the whole ending which was incredibly satisfying. And yeah there are plotholes related to these events but in case of this movie all that jazz doesn't really matter to me when the moments themselves are just awesome. Same thing happened to me with Looper (which is a really good movie), the time travel element is really just whatever, you shouldn't think too much about it and that's the case with many other time travel movies too and all in all why Looper worked for me was because it wasn't really about the time travel.

Yeah, I was severely disappointed with Looper even after lowering my expectations a bit. I was disappointed with Batman too though.

Yeah Batman was more disappointing only because I had higher expectations for it, although the hype for Looper got to me. I just can't stand nonsensical plots in a movie most of the time. Looper's first half was absolutely fantastic...and then...welp.

It's just a little detail. Not every single bit of a character's background has to become its own story arc.

It doesn't have to. That detail was supposed to show how dedicated Gordon was to serving Gotham, but also how miserable his life had become up to that point.

How did Blake knew where to find Gordon on the sewers?

Watched the BD last night and my wife asked me that, I didn't knew the answer lols, considering the dude who said to Bane that it was like a Maze down there.

Because he's a hot head.

Didn't Blake investigate a body earlier in the film, that had washed up around the same place? Not 100% though.

A hunch based upon where they found the dead kid.
