Among games with a Metacritic score of 80 or above, less than half of them are ports. Yet if you only go by the public's general impressions, you'd think ports are the vast majority of the library.

How about simply applauding having 16 games scoring 80+ on meta critic in the first year of release?

I'd like there to be a New Years resolution where vita moaners can only complain about sales and aren't allows to say 'it has no games' or 'its only ports'

Edit: ooh, top of page.

Buy JSR (ignore the haters, the pain is part of the experience), gravity crash PSP and Unit 13

(Going for the underdogs)

Sorry for asking about region lock questions again, but if I buy the PS3 version of Sound Shapes from my Irish PSN, I won't be able to use the free Vita version (my Vita is linked to a UK account), right?

And if not, is there any way I can trade this copy with someone else, or is it forever linked to your account?

If you buy Sound Shapes (or any cross-buy game digitally) with one account, you get the PS3 and the Vita version for that account. And you can't trade any store purchase unless you trade your whole account.

Or I can, my use of the prior instructive example aside, continue ignoring Metacritic entirely.

And only that one account, right? Ah well, I think I'll just get the PS3 version anyway. I have plenty of other games to play on the Vita at the mo

Vita can have only one account
but PS3 can have several accounts

And if you download game on one of ps3 accounts then you can play those games also from other accounts

In the other hand are the coss-buy retail disc games that include a download code for the Vita verison that can be traded, like PSASBR.

Yes, but unfortunately this doesn't work when transferring Vita games to the PS3, they have to be from the same account that you bought them

Ah ok, well that's pretty handy then. Wish Sony would fix this region lock business, but whatever. Thanks for the help!

Mmm yes, if he buys Sound Shapes in his Vita account, then he can also play it in his PS3 account... never thought of that. But he must be sure to be purchasing always the expensive version that includes the PS3 and Vita verisons and not only the Vita one, like in PSASBR.

I was trying to be positive and therefore ignoring for a moment whether people consider metacritic a valid measure of quality or not ;_;

Fair enough though, I'm just fed up of vita knockers

You know, I kind of wish Sony would add incentives to companies for adding cross buy and cross play between Vita and PS3. I'd love to see many PSN titles cross compatible to help boost online player base and put more loyalty to the systems. I'd buy a Crash Commando 2 or Fat Princess 2 in a second if they both were cross buy and cross compatible like Battle Royale.

And Vita knockers are just hating. Every Vita knocker for the most part never actually played a Vita. Hell, I hated the vita until I bought the damn thing.

Or maybe the Vita just doesn't have games they actually enjoy? It's great that some people love the Vita, but let's be honest, it's lacking games in very popular genres, like FPS and open world GTA style games (the 3D kind) and Western RPGs. The only two loot RPGs are a gameloft port and Silent Hill.

NFS:MW is pretty good (the only game I own), but that's about the only Vita game the interested me. And I have some pretty low standards, I have close to a 100 PSP games between PSN and UMD (and I write for a PSP website). But at this point in the PSP's life, it had a GTA, it had Star Wars Battlefront II (which a lot of people liked, it got 2 sequels), it had 2 NFS games and a Midnight Club, and it had a decent loot game. At this point I'd be very tempted to trade in my Vita for a tablet just to play Gameloft FPSes or Real Racing. Not that I want to, since I like buttons, but if the genres aren't really on the Vita, what good are they?

Man, crash commando... that game was the shit, I would be down for a cross play sequel, sadly the original game never had a big userbase

Does the gameplay in Mutant Blobs Attack get better later on? I am through the first area and can only describe the game as insipid. Note I don't care about anything like subversive humor or edgy art, I only care about the core platforming gameplay, which has been very bland so far.

Just call it Crash Commando Tournament. Add another 3-5 weapons, a few more vehicles and another set of levels. Keep all the modes in there along with the old stuff and I'd buy it again. Have it cross compatible on Vita and PS3 and I'm ready to sink another 500 or so hours into it.

you jump, you roll, you eat.. hmm... not much more to the game..

In most heated threads It's more that the Vita doesn't have any Nintendo franchises. Nonsensical, isnt it! Only Nintendo can produce high quality, sell like hot cakes titles. Can you name me any high quality FPS, GTA style, or Western RPGs on competing portable systems?

I haven't played a Gameloft FPS so I can't comment on the quality. Real Racing looks nice but as you mentioned, I'm a button guy. I'd love for there to be GTA and GT on the Vita. I'm sure in time, it'll happen.

Surely there must be another game that has at least peaked some interest or could it be that publishers have stopped making games you like :). Case in point, Midnight Club and Battlefront.

Is it possible to browse the PSN US store via browser on my PC? I can see the Italian store just fine but can't figure how to switch to the US one.

That's not a bad list at all for a year old system.

Does anyone have any of the big wireless PS3 headsets? I know the "elite" ones are compatible with the Vita via a cord, but I am desperately trying to find a wireless solution for my Vita. Any ideas? Unravelling cords is driving me insane.
I have the Pulse headset, which I really like (I haven't had it very long), but as you say it needs a cord to work on the Vita. That said, you should be able to buy any Bluetooth headset and pair it with the Vita without any problems.

I have the 7.1 official Sony headset for my PS3

I would love to use that with my Vita..

I'm still torn, but thanks for the info.

By the way, has anyone been able to price-match the 32gb card for 60 dollars at any retailers? Where did you go? What did you print out?

You're not missing anything. Game's aged like Madonna.
xDDDDDDDD
True

Metacritic included Minis as PSP games, you have to include Velocity to the list (Metacritic of 87).

DP sorry.
I miss the 'delete post' option in GAF, I'm dumb and often I mistake when editing my post to add another quote.

That's the OLD official headset. :p

The new one allows you to connect to mobile devices via a line-in jack, but obviously doesn't support the full range of features.

I love these. I can't go back to any other headphones.

If you own the Vita portable charger you can make the Pulse wireless. Though you'll still be anchored to the charger. Since I play with my Vita plugged in most of the time it doesn't bother me.

Do those bluetooth headsets have lag issues with games? I wouldnt be able to play if my sound and gameplay wasnt in sync.

I have a pair of those fold up Sennheisers which I love but something bigger would be nice.

I am not sure about the Sennheisers or the official SONY headset, but I have a pair of Harman/Kardon BT headphones and It does not have any lag, even while watching NETFLIX.

So I decided to say fuck the backlog and dive into Persona 4. I'm only 2 hours in but it's starting soooo slow like so many other jrpgs. I didn't even reach the first tutorial battle until the 1hr 45 min. mark. I'm expecting it to get a lot better soon.

I'll probably be alternating between that and Unit 13 for a while. I'm kind of hooked on that too.

Do yourself a favor and once you feel like the shackles are off, make a save in a special slot. So you never have to do that crap again.

Thats weird. Maybe I just had bad luck but, in my experience, bluetooth is only good for phone calls, voice chat, and listening to music. Have they improved the technology to the point where theres little to no lag?

I watched an unboxing video on youtube yesterday for another Sony BT headset and he connected it to his Vita and also remarked that there was little to no lag.
I might have to look into buying one. Having a wireless option would be great.

I hate having a backlog..

I have like 10+ games I wan´t to play n the P3 (Dark Souls, Final Fantasy XIII-2 and lots of PLUS games)

On my Vita I have MGS HD collection, sly cooper and some plus games..

and the only games I played this holiday was Sports Champions 2 and book of spells with my kids..

Unit 13 is the worst kind of addiction. It has that "just one more mission!" thing going for it. I used to waste hours in that game.

Persona 4 does start slow but it should start to pick up very shortly for you...I think it was around 2-3 hours when I really started feeling it and then I was hooked for good.

This is a pretty good idea. I'll probably do it soon since it feels like things are picking up a little. I just beat the first "boss" if you can call it that. That was more of a tutorial too really.

Don't forget that if you ever have to redo a story section (due to death during boss battle or whatever). Pressing Start and start again will "fast forward" the game, only stopping for decision inputs. This makes things a lot more manageable, especially if you have played it before and/or do not like a particular social link...

No shit. Well dickery. Good to know.

Yeah. I dont think the game tells you that anymore. I found it by accident.
Also, select lets you read previous written dialogue in the game. Great when you get put on the spot with a test question and want to go back to re-read the question.

God DAAAAMN. For a game with a 2 hour tutorial they never managed to get this info across to me! Goddamn JRPGs!
