fucking god, that's gold. I wish he had prefaced it with "I'm not racist, but" or "Not to use a stereotype, but"Asian people are not liberal, you know, by nature. They're usually more industrious and hard-working.
He was probably getting B's in his engineering classes.Hes been banned.![]()
That's what we were saying about Limbaugh pre-2010 and then it turned out that a lot of idiots still listen to him.
These dudes have major influence with a large group of Americans unfortunately.
How is this any different than saying blacks who are conservative aren't really black?
Why was the indication given to you that it's different? How is this any different than saying blacks who are conservative aren't really black?
fucking god, that's gold. I wish he had prefaced it with "I'm not racist, but" or "Not to use a stereotype, but"
I would think the statement is more offensive to liberals than it is on a racial level.
The implication is that Asians are industrious and hard-working people (racial stereotype), therefore they're not naturally inclined to be liberal; implication there being that liberals are lazy fucks.
It's racially stupid, but the insults are aimed at another group.
And, indeed, during the post-1945 era the majority of Asian-Americans voters that included refugees from Communist-ruled China, Korea and Vietnam tended to identify with the conservative and anti-communist agenda of the Republican Party. The majority of Asian-American voters went for Reagan, a Republican president whose economic principles, social values and foreign policy seems to be in line with theirs, as was his commitment to the notion of America as a nation of immigrants, that sunny disposition that reflected the open and tolerant cultural outlook of California, the home of scores of immigrants from China, Vietnam, Korea and Japan, and a state that overlooks the Pacific Ocean.
Republican George H.W. Bush still received 55 percent of the Asian-American vote compared to 31 percent for Democrat Bill Clinton. But already in 2004 it was Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry who won the majority (56 percent) of Asian-American vote.
And a majority of 73 percent of Asian-Americans ended up voting for Obama this year, up from 62 percent in 2008.
The obsession of so many Republicans and conservatives with birtherism and with the presidents alleged Muslim faith only helps to accentuate the notion that Republicans are hostile toward immigrants and toward Americans who are non-white and non-Christian. Romney, a politician whose natural inclination was probably to sound more like
Schwarzenegger and Reagan, ended up under the influence of the likes of Michele Bachmann sounding like the late Sen. Jesse Helms.

Correct. He's insulting liberals first. In his mind he's complimenting Asians by saying they are naturally conservative.
Why don't these non-white people want to vote for the racist party? It's a headscratcher.
How is this any different than saying blacks who are conservative aren't really black?
"Of course, being conservative is by nature of all races. Like African-Americans, for instance; they used to be hard working. Really hard working, for very little pay. Almost no pay, in fact. I should have prefaced this by saying that I have plenty of black friends who would agree with me here."
fucking god, that's gold. I wish he had prefaced it with "I'm not racist, but" or "Not to use a stereotype, but"
As a brown asian I fear travelling to the midwest because of fox news. I'm afraid of going into any of the deeply conservative strongholds in this country.
Wait, ...What? Did you just say all Republicans are racists? Just interested to know; I really could care less twhat thsi idiot says, and I'm an independant fence sitter by nature, but that is just a little bit um pressumtious and racist in and of itself.
I too am a brown asian, and the midwest frightens me as well.
Uh no. I think you should probably rethink that one.
Correct. He's insulting liberals first. In his mind he's complimenting Asians by saying they are naturally conservative.
But also being a racist douche by implying that an entire race is by nature industrious and hard-working. As if they cannot choose to be lazy and are instead voting Liberal out of some race wide stupidity.
Two issues here-I would think the statement is more offensive to liberals than it is on a racial level.
The implication is that Asians are industrious and hard-working people (racial stereotype), therefore they're not naturally inclined to be liberal; implication there being that liberals are lazy fucks.

Still totally racist.Correct. He's insulting liberals first. In his mind he's complimenting Asians by saying they are naturally conservative.
and they also have one of the lowest voter turnout, so who cares in the end
Considering Republicans actually think their conservative ideals constitute "fiscal responsibility", believing this is far less of an act of mental gymnastics. The misnomer that Republicans have with Hispanics and Asians is that they assume family values instantly means social conservative.
Asians, perhaps?
I want him to tell me about the nature of white people.
I've heard that the midwest frightens brown asians, you know, by nature.
The beauty of white privilege is that white people are the only group of people that have no demographic-wide nature. They're both lazy and hard working, smart and stupid, short and tall. Every other race, however, is totally homogenous.
damnit man, how can you just stereotype us like that?!white people are the only group of people that have no demographic-wide nature.

It's the distinct lack of elephants and cows on the road that sets me off kilter.
I know it's out of context because I didn't read/see the entire conversation but it almost reads like "it shouldn't be this way" or "damn... *shakes head*".WATTERS: -- and if you add the indigenous native Hawaiian population --
O'REILLY: About 20 percent.
WATTERS: -- to the Hispanic population, they outnumber whites by more than two to one.
yeah, go say that to Yao Ming's face... I dare ya
...and stop asking me to do your math homework white people!
White people always say that I'm smart for no reason
I'm a fucking idiot guys......
Jokes on you : S
Not that it's really surprising, but I don't think much of O'Reilly's analysis of Hawaii's social problems, either. Believe it or not, when you create a state with a huge cost of living, defund public schools in favor of private schools, and build a service economy around tourism, you're going to get a huge permanent underclass. It's a testament to the Bishop estate and to a lesser extent the homestead lands that the problem isn't worse.
I think you might have missed the subtle sarcasm of my post.

But you know that's what he thinks; he's practically telegraphing what's on his mind. His entire "fall of the white establishment" tirade after the election ended is more than enough evidence to indict him of that mindset.I know it's out of context because I didn't read/see the entire conversation but it almost reads like "it shouldn't be this way" or "damn... *shakes head*".
A woman I had never met before once told me "You're probably great with numbers". What the fuck is that supposed to mean?
by Hispanic does he really mean filipino? hmmmm
The homeless problem is really just the most visible thing. Hawaii has a big inequality problem that is much much bigger than that.
