I really have to wonder why it took them so long to announce it. I guess they thought it was finally time because there was a massive shit storm around this among the fans.

Maybe it's because you can play as Vergil and they didn't want mirrors?
I REALLY REALLY hope that Title Update comes with balance changes and game play tweaks as well.
My guess is that the Title Update will incorporate leaderboards as well. Thing is that patches have to be implemented in advance so if they actually took some feedback from fans after the demo it would make it into the Title Update.

No. It's just a licensed song for marketing. Similar to how L'arc En Ciel's Drink It Down was used to market DMC4. It won't be in the game.

Free DLC has been a thing with Capcom recently. We got new difficulty modes after launch for both Dragon's Dogma and Resident Evil 6.

Famitsu giving a big Japanese release like this a 34/40 is like any other publication giving it a 2/10. This does not bode well. Hope I'm wrong. I'd love to see Capcom finally put out a really top tier game, but it is way to early to pay attention to any reviews yet.
just think of it as a different game, it is kind of distracting though since it's like playing a dude cosplaying as dante, would prefer it if he looks more different.
The point is to get people to hold on to their copies instead of trading them in after beating the game.

People actually put merit in Famitsu reviews? A bit astonishing. If you are ready to get your mind blown: DMC3 got a 34 and DMC4 got a 35. Eh. (Though actually it didn't get a 34, so much as four different scores from four different people that add up to 34)
That's disappointing. Though, there is the official DmC x One OK Rock vid right here. Just came out. Features the song to the backdrop of a lot of new footage.

Lots of new stuff shown off: the environments get entirely wacky, and I noticed new move with E&I where he's spinning them like a revolver as he fires lol. Looks badass.
That Shotgun move was in DMC3 and 4. You wouldn't happen to be a gaming journalist, would you friend?

The Famitsu review only tells us about the marketing budget. Doesn't seem to be that high.
Ten more dollars and it could've gotten all 9's.
It's already getting franchise high reviews. At least it's getting the same reviews as DMC3SE/DMC3 and better than DMC4, worse than DMC1. Although the bulk of the reviews are still pending but it's looking like this should review better than DMC4.
Pretty good I'd say. Though that won't mean anything to skeptics.

After enduring years of people bitching about this game, I'd love nothing more than for this to be the most acclaimed entry in the series.

That doesn't really say much. People bitched about D3 for years, it got great reviews and then the game came out people still continued to bitch and most of them abandoned the game afterwards.
In any case this game isn't going to get better reviews than DMC1 since DMC1 had a bunch of 10s going its way.
We had seen the Fireworks move in DmC before.
Oh I don't expect their views to change at all. I'll just find it entertaining.

I'll attemp streaming on my twitch account but.... 9/10 guessing they will threaten me and turn it off. I might just find another streaming service for this. I should have the ps3 version come tommorrow or Friday.

You're giving Famitsu a whole lot of credit. And for what it's worth, it may be a Japanese publisher but it's also from a European dev.

Yeah really depends. I'll have to cram the game fast. I also want to do a lets play but that will be after I complete it most likely. Or start over after streaming for a bit. Also got another skit in planned using DmC. Yeah busy times for my channel.

No one doubted this would get good reviews by the press, especially the western press, who pretty much collectively feel japanese games are "too japanese"(which i'd take over the hamfisted socio-political hipster wank in this game) , plus Enslaved getting a pass by so many outlets comfirmed this. Alex Jones has a hardon for NT, him even suggesting that they take over the franchise is a mindscrew enough. I can only hope the experiment fails and NT move on to their own IP or Capcom gets some pride about their legacy before another western remake by NT comes to fruition.
