even years after sapphire came out i was still discovering pokemon in the game (gorebyss and stuff) and new areas i hadnt been, since diamond and pearl i always like found out about the games before hand

I'd like an evolution for Sudowoodo, Magcargo and Relicanth.

Leading up to the games, though, the fun is all about seeing new Pokemon, admiring their designs and dreaming up what they might become or do.![]()
LOL, fuck blackouts, show me the Pokemon NOW. The fun part once we have the games will be digging into the intricacies of the new moves and mechanics and fashioning new teams out of 700+ Pokemon. We need Gen V evos. Some Pokemon like Basculin and Sigiliyph just need an evo.
Yeah, and it's fun to think that since they revealed the games now and they come out in October, I'd imagine there's a reason for it, part of which may include a slow but steady drip-feed of new reveals leading up to launch.Im with you on this. Pokemon is a game where i can know everything but still have a fucking blast.
I am consoling myself with the assumption that everyone will just make new Pokemon their avatars and post everywhere else so a blackout won't do that much good.
If I can avoid knowing gym leaders and evolutions, that would be nice.
Wouldn't it be nice if we could transfer hold items to Gen VI too? Instead of just the Pokémon?
I'm tired of saving up Battle Points every generation for the same few items. Especially the Power items that pass down IVs and help with EV training.
It's going to be tough, for sure. But I have blacked out on a game in too long. It's worth the effort.
Oh yeah, Magnezone -- that's a case where a Gen IV evo completely redeemed a Gen I Pokemon line. It went from Magneton being a cheap design of three Magnemites linked together, to this quirky but powerful-looking flying saucer. Magnezone is amazing -- I just wish it had Levitate!

Magnezone is precisely what a final evo should be, in terms of its design. By this I mean it looks considerably stronger and more durable than its predecessors. Magnezone is like some flying fortress of lightning death, lol.Magnezone is godlike. It doesn't have levitate but magnet rise is pretty helpful.

They should not evolve Sableye. CB-wise it's very annoying. And I can't imagine what will happen if it has decent attack, defense.![]()
The more I think about it, the more I'm curious why they revealed these games now. Do they plan to have cards, movies, manga, etc, dealing with X/Y elemens leading up to release? Are they planning nearly a year of continuous hype with a steady release of details? Hmm...

I dunno, that first time I played Pokemon Blue without knowing anything, that was pretty amazing. And even though I devoured information about Gold/Silver, most of that was just through magazines and the game still blew me away.
Since then, a combination of ease of access (internet) and curiosity means I already know everything about a Pokemon game by the time it comes here. I am following someone else's pre-determined strategy of what will be best because I already know the gym types and know when I will need to bring my HM slave with me or whatever.
This time, Japan will not have completely broken it open by the time it comes here. I wonder if I can recreate that feeling of just seeing a Pokemon, going "That looks cool!" and catching and using it. It's why I have an irrational love for Bellsprout, because it was mine and I did not know then it would become a Weepinbell and I didn't know what would happen when I traded it and it evolved and I begged for it back.
That's part of the experience for me, or I guess I should say, I want that to be part of the experience for me again.
This is easily what excites me most for this game, Gen 3 was the last one I went into mostly blind, the only pokemon I knew were the ones shown prior to release, I somehow ended up with both Seedot and Shroomish in my team in the early goings and the magic of unknown evolutions ultimately decided their fate, Nuzleaf left me disappointed and got sidelined, Breloom was there all the way to the finish.I dunno, that first time I played Pokemon Blue without knowing anything, that was pretty amazing. When Gen 3 was coming I was just starting to use the internet more often, I remember printing out a list of every new Pokemon and bringing it to school. My friends and I would marvel over them and try to figure out what types they were and stuff.
When I was a kid I didn't know about games until they were already out. So my first experience with Gen 2 was at the state fair where there was a booth with comics and lots of other things. There was this big bin of individual pokemon cards, and that was the first time I ever saw the new pokemon.
It was pretty magical and I dug through the entire thing to fish out all the new cards. I convinced my dad to buy them and that I would pay him back. Mantine I think was the first new pokemon that I ever saw.
Haha! I did the same thing. And after their release there were still unanswered questions. These games had two space legendary pokemon and a rocket! The amount of theories for those were over nine thousand!
I remember trying EVERYTHING to see if I could get Jirachi to come out of the white rock by the space center. Or if the rocket ship would somehow unlock some sort of Deoxys event
