Well, it's a lot more complicated than just wasting processing power. It can be easier to do 3D at 30fps than 2D at 60fps, and so it's not always guaranteed that there will be an extra 30 frames to slap on. Usually developers find some kind of middle ground, like a low quality AA solution or some AF.

I think most look and run the same just to keep things consistent, in some games it makes sense to improve framerate like fighting games. Nintendo sometimes doesn't bother, though I think OOT 3D did have some anti aliasing in 2D though.

Yeah, seems clear to me that it's a Wyvern.
Just google "Wyvern" and you see the horns and feet and hand wings and everything.
I could see it being Fire/ Dragon. Would be awesome if it's Dragon/ Fighting or fighting/ flying.
Can see the other being ... water/ psychic or steel/ psychic.
I also don't see there being a "Z" Pokemon. X and Y seem to be based on Chromosomes given the logos so I could see the 3rd being something that's also chromosome related (XX and XY forms?).
As long as I get a Heracross evolution, I'll be on cloud 9.
It's more likely that they're based on the X and Y axis, which is how we drew the conclusion for Z; Referring to the Z axis.
As I've mentioned before, it's likely they're referencing both. There's DNA in the logo, this is the first fully 3D title and it's on the 3DS. It's not an either/or situation, in my opinion.

Who's to say they aren't pulling from multiple influences, both for the legendaries and for the names of the games, I doubt they didnt do X and Y based on chromosomes AND the axes especially since we have a sky based "Y axis" legendary and a land based "X axis" legendary. Both legendaries clearly arent an "eagle" and "stag" straight from the norse mythology either. so yea.

Pinsir needs an evo more than Heracross, for the sake of relevance.
Absol needs an evo or pre-evo.
Flareon needs Flare Blitz.
Farfetch'd needs a Flying/Steel sword-wielding evo.

Fraxure, split evol into either a Dragon/ Fighting type or a Dragon/ Steel type (it's a battle axe faced dragon with armor plates ... either could have worked.)

I've been waiting for Lanturn to get an evo since I first played Gold. Someday perhaps...
It seems very likely they are based on that Norse myth, and that myth just happens to have 3 different mythical creatures in it. Too convenient for them not to use the third one.
My guesses:
Yveltal: Flying/Psychic. Flying because it's a bird. Psychic because the eagle it's based on can peer into souls. Psych means soul.
Xerneas: Rock/Fighting. Rock because of the gyms, fighting because stags are commonly seen as fighters.
Plus these types are fairly balanced against each other. Rock works against Flying/Psychic and Psychic works against Rock/Fighting. Flying Psychic has a slight advantage in that flying moves will be 1x effective against Xerneas whereas fighting moves will only be .25x effective against Yveltal, but both get a 2x effective tpye against each other.
I would use Farfetch'd if this happened.

So I just had someone offer me $50 for my DS Lite... it is still on ebay, in a bundle with White, for 3 days. I start the bidding at $40 with a buy it now of $70. There are 3 people watching it, which leads me to believe they will fight over it at the last minute....

Plus considering how high you started the bidding and that you've already got three watchers I'd say wait.
Though, for future reference, you tend to make more money if you start the bidding incredibly low.

He offered me $50 for JUST the DS, so I don't know if I should take him up on it, then just ebay White, or just wait and see how the auction plays out.
Sell your DS Lite to him and sell White seperate? If you were happy with the $70 buy it now you'd probably get that anyway, but if he isn't desperate I'd wait for the listing on ebay to run out and have his offer as back up

WTF dude. Farfetch'd can still exist. it's a choice to evolve it. I'm fine with having referential pokemon, but don't hinder their metagame usefulness because of it.
Unless you do something terrible, like stick it in the wrong category and spell the name wrong, you're pretty much always guaranteed to sell gaming stuff at a reasonable price.
For some reason people always end up spending more when stuff starts at like 99p.
Even if it'd be cheaper in the long run to go with the buy it now. ¬_¬
Ah, well if I was you I'd look at other auctions of similiar DS Lites - same colour, condition with whatever accessories you added (including the box)- and see how far off $50 they tend to be.
Farfetch'd is one of the coolest Pokemon. I wouldn't mind him being good. An evolution also wouldn't be bad.

I was really hopeful Alomomola would be a Luvdisc evo. I'd be cool if they came up with a second form for Luvdisc that then evolved into Alomomola. The "missing link," if you would, and perhaps an intermediary stage in which you'd have the opportunity to learn some useful moves before it turns into Alomomola.

Well,not all pokemon are gonna be metagame useful or can be for that matter, or have to be in such a series. Some pokemon are just there to be funny or interesting or fun to collect.

I'd like to see Gen V Pokemon linked to other very similar Pokemon without relatives (Alomomola and Bouffalant for example)
I mean, if fucking remoraid can evolve into octillery, then clearly luvdisc and tauros can be easily slipped into pre-evo's for the B/W additions
Remoraid and Octillery are weapons, playing on the idea of super soakers. Remoraid's a pistol, Octillery's a tank. It fits thematically.
And this is where I have to disagree. Stuff like making Pikachu viable with light ball means that pokemon can have a gimmick and at least have SOME trick. Have some oddball use. Farfetch'd stick was a start.
