Well, I specifically said "non-RNG and non-hacked". Breeding like crazy is all legal, after all.

But dang, is brute-force breeding/SR-ing really as big to the competitive community as you seem to be implying? I was always under the impression that, for those perfect Pokemon of just the right speed/hidden power, RNG and legit hacking were the main methods to resort to. Especially with all those shinies populating the VGC battle videos...

RNG is the preferred method now because it is far less time consuming by taking out all the random elements. But without it, people will spend half of an eternity soft resetting for Pokemon. Breeding near flawless Pokemon is not nearly as tough.

For regular Pokemon? It really depends on the player. For legendaries? Nope. You can almost guarantee that the legendaries in those VGC battle videos are RNGed to perfection. My comment about brute-force breeding / SRing was directed towards gen 6 for the "new" Pokemon.

I think even just making IV's visible stats that you can see in game without having to use a crazy calculator would go a long way in simplifying the system.

Yep. That's the only thing I would change immediately.
There is satisfaction in breeding a perfect pokemon, for those who choose to do it. I've only done it a couple of times but I kinda like the grind. You only really need it for competitive level battling anyway.

I've never intentionally did IV training. I was however searching to get shinies, so I keep fighting the same pokemon over and over again and then suddenly my Pokemon level up with +13 on his most of his stats. It felt nice.

Still haven't encountered a shiny :(

Aww, but the Norse angle is cool as all hell.

Ehhh, only seems "cool" because it's the new hot thing.

I never saw much reason to think it was Norse. The huge post someone made on they're site that everyone cites also makes some huge leaps and uses points that even wiki can't prove.

Wasn't saying it was feasible, just that Norse stuff is and always was cool. =)
Speculation is fun no matter how insane it gets.

I was also thinking about, what if we had some passive moves. That act like abilities but take a slot.

Like for example Magnet Rise, will eliminate the ground weakness completely but will only leave you with 3 moves.

It should work great with things like SafeGuard, or mud sport. Of course things like Reflect, Sunny Day/Rain Dance and other will still work like the move, so there's still the 5 turn limit but they will activate automatically upon switching in. While things like Mud Sport will be on as long as the pokemon is out.

There's a lot of things that need to be tweak for it to no be broken, but it should be cool. Kind of Like Persona 4.

I would completely be ok with that

Not a bad idea.

"Magnet Rise" reminds me of pokemon with sprites that are clearly floating/flying yet are still affected by ground-type moves. It bothers me so much.

Nah they need to be activated first. Having them be passive right off the bat would render them broken. Besides, you already have abilities for that.

Anyway we need more Chespin.

auto weather effects besides drizzle/drout/sand stream and snow warning would be so broken.

Haha! Coincidence? I read about a similar Idea (in a fairly extensive post) here: http://www.notenoughshaders.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=334#p1440

Some of it is a bit radical for my tastes but the passive Abilities in move slot sounds good.

Auto-Sand Excadrill might by scary but he will have to deal with only 3 moves, if he chooses to use Sword Dance, then he will only have 2 slots for attack, that guarantees that some pokemon will resist both of his attacks. And it's still just 5 turns, so it's actually less broken than having him out of the open while a Tynaritar already set up infinite Sandstorm.

But yeah, I see where you are coming from. Big changes like that need to be tested thoroughly. That's why it will never happen =(

Let's have Pokemon learn 5 moves now instead of just 4.

Then I can finally have a Starmie that has Surf/TB/IB/Recover/RapidSpin

The ultimate starmie

B)

Seriously, my biggest problem with Starmie is 4MSS. I always cringe when I try to come up with a moveset for it.

Definitely Conquest, its brilliant. Only when you complete the main story and you seem to lose your warriors/pokemon I didn't feel the urge to carry on through those extra missions.. Perhaps I should while I wait for this game.

Which is your favorite spin-off Pokemon game?

Go Go Go

Ooh, tricky to say. Top 3

1. Pokémon Rumble Blast
2. Pokémon Ranger Shadows of Almia/Guardian Signs
3. PokéPark 2 (Seriously, the battle system is awesome. I'd love for them to enhance that for a harder, less kid-focused game)

All of those are the most fun spin-off games I have covered. Snap is close, but it's a bit over-rated, and way too linear

Really? I heard your favourite was all the dungeon games for an equal tie in first.

Maybe my sauce was wrong.

Yeah, it's bad that the 3DS MD game has no feels :(

Also you think Cynthia will appear again in polygon/3D glory?
