Seriously now, where is Lolo 4? It's never too late to pull out hair and cry yourself to sleep.

Gaming is just too sissy nowadays, we need a new Lolo to put the fear of god in gamers again.

So I hereby request another ridiculous, unforgiving, one wrong move = death edition of fun for all.

And after Lolo; I want a new Adventure Island.

i demand someone listen to you.
even if they just ported all three of the originals to ds in a "lolo puzzle collection," i'd be totally down for it. as-is, the second any of them hit the vc i'm on that like white on rice on a paper plate in a snow storm.

Just yesterday I watched a speedrun of Lolo 3 (single segment), and it was insane. Back in the day, I beat Lolo 3 on my own of course, and it was an awesome game, but I just had to watch how a professional plays it. He did one big mistake in one of the last few levels, other than that it was almost a perfect run.

But I too wish for a new Lolo game, but to ease the pain, I think I'm going to download Lolo 1 and 2 for Wii's VC (never played them).

I love Hal, love them. Kirby and Smash Bros. are all well and good, but they really need to get out of that rut. Revisit a old favorite that brought them acclaim. Lolo would be my 2nd most wanted project from them. The first...

I Need HyperZone on the Wii, on the DS, heck, even on the Virtual Boy. I need another dose of it.

Lolo would be nice too, I guess.

LOLO <3

Now talk about an underrated puzzler. HAL is on crack to push Kirby instead of those games.
Gamers NEED a new Lolo and to rediscovered to true meaning of "action-puzzle" a genre that is WAY TOo RARE.

Also, there is so much gameplay potentiel sleeping in these game it's almost unconceivable they didn't make a fourth one. Such shame.

Those are some of the best NES games ever too.

As long as we're demanding new editions of old HAL games, I'd like HAL's Hole-In-One Golf 2, please.

I played through all 3 Lolo games and Eggerland Mystery a few weeks back. Awesome games! Eggerland was one of my favorite MSX games back in the day. So yes, Lolo 4 please, although I could do without the bossfights.

Yet another Nintendo IP goldmine thread, really. Lolo deserves to be back, and has the credientials to back it up, but so far all we get is 2nd rate kirby villains. -_-

Oh, and Kickle Cubicle is the best action-puzzle game ever, but I digress..

I didn't know about the existence of this game until this thread came along. I guess you can hope for a cameo at SSBB at most. If Kd Icarus can't get a proper sequel, how could this one get?

I agree with your demands Alex. Hal needs to give Kirby a break and stop teasing us with Lolo and Lala cameos. Hopefully these games will sell well when they show up on the Virtual Console. The last game to come close to Lolo gameplay that I played was this game starring a Mole for the Gameboy.

So I guess hal has always been creatively bankrupt when it came to character designs.
what's wrong with lolo? ea even ripped off that character design for one of its own games

QFT. Gamers today are all weak sauce.

The only problem with a new Lolo game is that everyone would use the Internet to cheat. But we definitely need more non-sissy games again.

Glad to see you photoshopping again, but lolo and kirby are awful character designs, and for smash brothers all of the characters were done for them.

Totally an under-appreciated series of games. Good for casual gamers too, even though you're billing it as "putting the fear" back into gamers. The gf was way into it.

XBLA Arcade + users trading their own level designs = please?

lolo's character design is completely inconsequential. he's a little blue blob of puzzle-solving goodness.

that said, his completely strange, alien styling--a little blue blob with a strange, almost human vestigial tail jutting out of his back--is a nice complement to the bizarre environment the game takes place in. you're climbing a stone tower in which there are giant snails who smile at you even as you throw high-speed eggs at them and human skulls spring to life as you collect hearts encased in small squares. nothing exactly makes a lot of sense, and so the fact that lolo's design is pretty minimalist (they didn't even bother to give him a mouth. explain that) sort of fits the motif.

but i'll let carl say it best when it comes to lolo's character design:

and yet you continually imprison him, then push him into a river where he'll float along for a short while before sinking to his watery grave.

Kind of pisses me off though, makes it look so easy. These games drove me and my family up the wall when I was a kid.

Some of the levels leave me more than a little skeptical about the methods used, but cool nonetheless.

has there ever been any hint what so ever that hal may eventually give the niche fans what they want and make a follow-up somewhere?

this is way above kid icarus on my "ip dream revival" list.

Lolo would kick serious ass on the DS!

I hope some people here discover Lolo through those videos.
It's an awesome series. To me it's actually BEFORE Kid Icarus in the "must revive" list.

Hilarious - and if the username is a Bill Hicks reference, extra bonus points!

Heh....Lolo 2...that takes me back...back during the days when I actually threw my controller and actually got grounded for a week of "no gaming", all because this game frustrated me to no end. :lol

But any way, yeah...HAL definitely could stand to revisit this old gem. Wii, DS? I could care less.

Besides, with Smash Bros. now in another development team's hands, what more does HAL have on their plate besides making Kirby games, really? They could at least consider the option of doing old things like Lolo and Kabuki Quantum Fighter, in addition to Kirby games and possible new IPs.

Hell, let's at LEAST start with a triple pack of all 3 Lolo games for the GBA or DS...:D

What the hell is EGGERLAND? I'm watching this as we speak on You tube.

Was a famicom disk game or something? Ever released? Does a cartridge of that does exist like could i buy that on Ebay or some used games store??

Wikipedia has your answers! But basically, eggerland is somewhat of a prequel series that started on the MSX of all places with some fami/fami disk system stuff.

Didn't Nintendo already confirm that Virtual Console games are region locked? If so, I wouldn't hold my breath for a localisation.
