What's your "price ceiling" for the next-gen systems?

PS4/720: $350-400

Wii U (counts right?): $250-300

Could change if a must-have game hits. Hasn't happened with the Wii U though, and I doubt it will with the PS4/720 launches either.

For me, it would be $400 for PS4/360. I'd accept $500 if there were a launch title I absolutely needed.

For Wii U probably $200, or $250 if there were ever a game I really wanted.

I will be waiting until either system gets to $300, which will be a couple of years. I never buy new systems at launch. I usually wait 2 years so stuff can get worked out.

I'm hoping $399 for a PS4, but I'd spend as much as $450, if the launch lineup is good.

And if games go up to $70, thats bullshit.

There is (right now) no way I'm buying any next gen console until the HW has at least seen one major redesign. I don't want a loud, energy inefficient and probably broken system just to play some launch games.

I'll get a PS4 slim at €300 and a Nextbox slim at €250.

No more than 600, no less than 300. If they try to pull some subsidized or less than super powerful nonsense I dont think I will be on board.

I won't pay more than €250 for either system. This means that I'll most likely have to wait a few years before getting into next gen consoles.

I was ready to pay upwards to $400 each but since i decided to go the route of PC and 1 gaming console (aside from wii-u) this generation i will pay $450-500 for the PS4.

$250 down the road for a XBOX 3 if they come out with any console only exclusives that interest me but i have a feeling their console exclusives will be shifting to PC/XBOX in the new generation. If they really want this full W8 type integration between tablets/pcs/console etc.

500ish? not planning on jumping in till after year 1 or 2... and hell i can splurge on a 700$ ipad and can totally buy a friggin ps4 for less.

$500 total
$399 system + $60 game + my local tax is $500.23 which is what i'm willing to pay for whoever brings the most powerful console to market this fall

My ceiling for Day 1 purchase = $349
My ceiling for Months 1-3 = $399

I've got too big of a backlog to need to jump on board early with a platform with a minimal software library.

200 would be a stretch for me as I'm a student. i fully realize there is no way in satan's blessed hell that would ever happen, so i'll be sticking to my 360 for a while (even though it's slowly but surely starting to break down)

$400 absolute max, but I would much rather go for $300. Even then, I will probably wait for some good games to come out.

$400 - $500, depending on what you get. $400 would be the sweet spot. $450 I'd easily do. $500... MAYBE... if it were for like the super SKU that provided real value. But, $400 is a day 1 sale for me basically. $450 I'd spring. $500 I'd probably wait on it.

That generally holds true for a lot of consumer products for me, where if it hits $500 I say, "Do I really need this? Let's wait 6 months and see if I really need this."

5 hunna for the PS4.

I know MS is gonna come out swinging and have compelling reasons to buy, but I'm hoping to stay with 1 console for the first few years.

Show me a genuine jump in graphics, genuine innovation in how I play online, etc and I'm willing to pony up whatever the cost up to $999. It's just a game console, but it's not like any of us haven't ever shit out $2000 on DIY PCs.

Depends on the launch line up. $400 if there is a game or two that impresses me, but they can sway me into paying $500 if the launch games really blow me away.
