GAF i need help regarding zavvi

My game did not come, so I requested a refund, I filled up everything, but they somehow sent me new game instead. I asked for refund very clearly and because of that they told me to return an item to their warehouse. I waited to come, i sent it back and I sent them every possible proof of postage, receipt and all other stuff, and now they don't want to refund me, they dont answer in support centre on website, they don't answer on email, they TURNED OFF support by phone! It worked last week! So im desperate because they need to refund me 78pounds and now I can't reach them. Not to mention that I have over 60 outstanding orders in past 2 years with them!

Anyone?

How long ago did you set up a query through the website? It seems to be taking them quite a few days to respond, the same people/system also seem to be handling theHut queries. Ridiculous that they've switched off phone support, after having to send back 2 items recently & Ni No Kuni problems i will be avoiding theHut/Zavvi in the future, its not worth all this hassle.

I checked tracking, it arrived in their warehouse on 24th of January. Original order was made in first half of November.

Its in almost 3 months timeframe. So three months! Not 2 weeks or something 80 days! I was waiting for a game for 55 days and 2 weeks to return them item and asking for refund for 10+ days.

Not to mention that i cleary said that i want a refund, not replacement items. 3 days after my email about it and support ticket, they sent me "confirmation mail" that an item has been dispatched. Then I asked, why new item i specifically requested money not an item i dont want to wait for another 50 days. They told me they are sorry but they havent read it correctly. I mean what the..?! I sent 5 tickets and emails regarding that refund, and they did not see it?

@LayLa

I was waiting for a week for them to respond to me, now from 25th january. Every time when I contact them in past 2-3 months i need to wait 7-10 days for them to respond to me :s

Resident Evil 6 (steel book) for £6.99 at Amazon.co.uk via Gameseek? Misprice?

EDIT

Looks like it's gone now, but the standard version for 360 is still in stock.

It seems all of those will get cancelled:

HUGE cockup made by one resident programmer caused us a nightmare this morning. Orders between around 6am and later may need to be cancelled

Okay, that chances it. Pretty shitty. When was your last contact? Today?

Last week, now I've sent them bunch of emails on all email adresses I could find.

Why they cancelled support by phone in a matter of week, that's not clear to me. By the way, zavvi trustpilot feedback is going down and down. Even people from UK are complaining on missing items and refunds.

Well, Zavvi's customer service is abysmal. They didn't even bother to respond to my last message. They might be cheap, but don't expect any help if they ever mess something up.

Well from now only that other website, no one is mentioning it so i dont know if its banned. Postage is 3 pounds but at least game come in 3-5 working days.

Zavvi re: my copy of Ni No Kuni said:
Hi Mr Chopper,

Thanks for getting in touch about your order.

I can see that the payment problem for this has now been resolved. However, i'm sorry to tell you that this item is now out of stock.

Our buying team will be looking at other suppliers to get more copies in, and your order will be despatched as soon as these arrive in our warehouse, however at this time I am unable to give a date as to when this may be.

If there's anything else we can do please don't hesitate to get in touch and a member of our team will be happy to help.

Kind regards,
Chris

I pre-ordered July 15th 2012.

Can we ban them yet?

I right now regret no picking PC DmC for $20 from that EU website. Anyone know where to get the Steam/PC ver. for under $30 or equivalent?

I boycotted Zavvi ages ago after I found they'd sold my details to marketing companies against my specific instructions AND allowed a shyster affiliate to rape my (and hundreds of other people's) payment details and defraud me of over £100 (which I had to fight to get back).

So yeah - banning them would get my vote.

PS my £6 Resident Evil order with PlayTrade/GameSeek is still showing as current.

Oh, they're definitely on my boycott list. I don't suppose you've seen my post in the Ni No Kuni special edition thread, but they actually cancelled my order this afternoon without my consent. Game over. No special edition for me, even though I preordered in July. Unbelievable.

Piss take.

May as well ask here as someone is bound to know. How the hell do you add any credit with Zavvi to an order?

They credited me a few quid a while back (and my account shows this) but there doesn't seem to be an option anywhere to add it to an order. I go as far s I can before committing to buying something, and apart from reward points and discount codes, I can't see any other options? Thanks.

Sorry, what did you want them to do exactly? Keep your order open indefinitely for a product they'll likely never receive any more stock for?

There's a huge fuck-up here, but it's on Namco's part, not Zavvi's.

Ha ha. What? I expected them to sell my order to me. You know, as in, not cancel it. The one I ordered 7 months ago.

Yeah fact was that Zavvi realised they had fucked up and started some bullshit wave of "there has been a problem processing your payment" emails. Orders were cancelled and then they were putting up as in stock again allowing others to order. Then they claimed no stock but their outlet store on eBay had stock and was knocking them out at a premium for a brief time.

They probably had a technical problem there. You could argue that it's typical this happens to Zavvi, but they're not the first site this happens too. Some shops have had their customer data, sometimes even credit card info, leaked on the internet and then lie about it to those customers. Or fail to tell them.

In this case Zavvi/The Hut first sent out an automated email about "payment problems". A day or 2 later, they sent out an email to the affected customers that they were on it. And for most of the preorders they seemed to have fixed it as well.

There are unfortunately some exceptions, like Chopper on here, were their orders fell through. In Choppers case it was because he had an additional problem of an expired credit card. Zavvi customer service failed to address this specific problem in a decent manner. He was clearly done wrong there. So he has every right to be extremely mad at them. But generally speaking, they fixed these so-called "payment problems" for most affected people, or so it seems. The damage done is far less than what the likes of The Old ShoppeTwo ever pulled off.

Edit: this whole thing about them shifting their stock from the main site to eBay outlet is only speculation. It might look shady, but that doesn't mean it is.

I can confirm this. My colleague missed out on a pre-order and decided to enter the Zavvi lottery on Friday. He paid for a copy on eBay - and brought it over when it got delivered to work by DPD yesterday. But yeah, Zavvi....

The big question is why anyone was stupid enough to pre-order at Zavvi in the first place.

Because some guy in Sweden ordered 627 titles from them and they all got there within 2 hours of ordering and the customer service was magical. Or something. Also, this is GAF - there's a defence force for everything.

Huh? They *did* have stock, and rather than fulfilling their preorders, they sold them on eBay at a premium - that is shady, no doubt about it.

I've had problems a couple times with Zavvi so don't use them any more. Twice they charged me full price for items significantly reduced and refused to accept the confirmation they sent me as proof. Other times they sent packages to addresses I'd deleted more than two years before, and I've also had the same issue as others with cancelling orders but them being charged and sent anyway. Not to mention waiting months for first class delivery on the last occasion.

By calling other people a "defence force", you're basically stating you will never take anything they say seriously. Which would make you an "offence force" (if you will) which isn't a whole lot better. ;-)

If people on here seem to be taking up Zavvi's defence (which they don't really do, nobody's defending Zavvi for the times they fucked up), it's because they're trying to put things into perspective: there are problems, some serious ones even, but for many people and many of their orders things do go as they should. People who are very unhappy about something do tend to be very vocal about it. People who get what they expected and are treated as should, don't tend to be as vocal.

The problem is, that people ordered what was a limited edition last July in some cases and stick should have been allocated then.

Then, with a day to go before release, they have payment problems - seemingly only with this particular game judging by Twitter.

Many people may not have lost their orders if Zavvi still had a phone number. One quick call to customer services could have sorted it for pretty much everyone I reckon.

I was having issues with some 1p credit card charge thing. Despite the fact they had already taken my money and I had the authorisation code from the bank.

Instead I had to email Zavvi, who only just replied yesterday saying that it looked as though my order had gone through ok.

If my order hadn't gone through, it sure as shit wouldn't have got fixed yesterday when they emailed me. But likely would have done last Thurs if I had spoken on the phone.

It's shoddy.

Ok, it's shoddy. But it seems they fixed the problem and you are getting your order.

The main question is (because this is what really matters): how many people did not get their order as a result of the "payment problems"? So far I only know of Chopper.

Anyone seen a good price for the Special Editions of the Last of Us? Also, which one should I get if I want everything? I CAN'T DECIDE :lol

Also, I paid for something using Paypal, but I cancelled the order. It looks like the money went through, but how can I get that money back?

My payment problem wasn't a glitch, like everyone else's. My card had expired. They were just so slow responding to my messages about the situation (the first of which was sent a good week before dispatch was due), that they'd sold my copy by the time they got back to me. Crazy incompetent.

I managed to use a discount code on the ellie edition at GAME and got it down to £50 from £55(then got it down further with reward card points). Joe edition is £57 at shopto I think.

I know. I also said that here: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=47327344&postcount=1881. Maybe if they hadn't had those payment problems your issue would've been resolved in time.

Anyhow, they did you wrong badly.

Any discount codes for GAME still around? I have about £1.70 on my reward card so that won't really help :lol

I'm stupid enough to preorder a few games from zavvi/thehut.
Last one Hitman HD collection - arrived today. Even amazon.co.uk would not have been faster and they would also have screwed me over with huge shipping costs.

Tesco are doing what they call "The Last Of Us Joel Edition" for £44.99.

Not sure how accurate their info is but they say:
" Includes: Canvas Wrap Packaging, Mini Artbook, Mini Comic, Screen Print Effect Poster & Joel Skin for your Dualshock Wireless Controller
Exclusive Digital Content: In-Game Survival Pack and Sights & Sounds Pack
Plus: Joel costume for Sackboy in LittleBigPlanet"

They also have a £5 off £25 coupon (TD-KFPW) so you could bring it down to ~£40.

I think the new Tesco Direct take money upfront though so remember that before purchase.
