Cheap Arse Gaffer |Europe| We Need To Go Cheaper

Does anyone have any experience with selling stuff through Amazon marketplace?

I've just seen that Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones is listed for £100 new/£50 used, but after checking on ebay, it never sells for more than about £26.

Similarly, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn is going for £48 new/£32 used, but ebay tends to sell them at £25 or less.

Is there a reason for this massive price inflation, are the sellers just hoping that someone will be stupid enough to pay that, and most importantly, are people stupid enough to pay that?

Further to the above, I was just looking at Ni No Kuni on Amazon and more madness is present:

1) The one used copy for sale is priced much higher than the new copies 0_o

2) The main price on the page is that of a 3rd party which not only is higher than other third parties but far higher than Amazon's own price which is itself relegated to the 'More buying choices' section

Do they not want to sell their own stock first?

Amazon does not have ni no kuni in stock atm. I ordered from them and they'll get new stock at 19th this month. The price and seller they show first is the cheapest option that can send today.

Are WOWHD reliable? Never heard or them before.

Ordered twice from them just recently. The second game I got was sealed but not factory sealed. Because it was a Nintendo published game (Professor Layton) it was easy to verify that it was a used copy (no Club Nintendo card present).

I mailed them. They insisted it was a new copy (and blamed the manufactorer) even after I explained how it was missing the stuff above. But they agreed to refund me (which should happen any time now, as I just recently returned it.). They didn't offer to cover for my shipping expenses.

Maybe I was just unlucky.

My two orders took 7 and 9 working days to arrive.

I pre ordered a bunch of games with Zavvi and since I ordered them all together with a code, I cant cancel part of the order. Have Rayman ordered for £29, wanted to cancel it for the £26 offer at WOWHD, oh well...

Thanks for that. I think I'll just go with Shopto for day before release delivery.

are you sure it was the uk release? what color was the triangle on the spine?

a missing club nintendo card doesn't mean anything.

I don't remember (probably green), but it was definitely PAL (with PEGI logo) and the text on the back of the box was in English. All of that is localized for Layton games, even from smaller language groups like mine.

It was also missing the Nintendo ribbon, which is always a first indication with "sealed" games.

Dang. My 2nd lost parcel from play even within 1 month. I can't believe it.

And it was "Ip Man 2" on Bluray, which it seems goes out of print and is now way more expensive. :( Just got a refund it seems.

Dunno what you paid for it, but it's £17.49 here.

(Also found it here for 14,79 euro: http://www.proxisazur.be/nl/catalog/detail/dvd/4910841/ip-man-2-blu-ray/ean/4013549174749/ but they will likely not send it to your country.)

Amazon Germany -> 17,68 euro: http://www.amazon.de/dp/B003YE41YA/

Tesco are doing what they call "The Last Of Us Joel Edition" for £44.99.

Not sure how accurate their info is but they say:
" Includes: Canvas Wrap Packaging, Mini Artbook, Mini Comic, Screen Print Effect Poster & Joel Skin for your Dualshock Wireless Controller
Exclusive Digital Content: In-Game Survival Pack and Sights & Sounds Pack
Plus: Joel costume for Sackboy in LittleBigPlanet"

They also have a £5 off £25 coupon (TD-KFPW) so you could bring it down to ~£40.

I think the new Tesco Direct take money upfront though so remember that before purchase.

Did anyone order it and then find the next day Tesco cancelled it? Happened to me twice now and was going to try one last time but it states when you try to go through the checkout that they have no stock of the item therefore they cancel my order.....stock for a pre-order.........I don't even know where to begin with that.

Yeah, I had the same thing happen. I gave up after they cancelled the second.

The 10% off preorders from Zavvi is over?

Damn, I hesitated to pre-order TLOU, GoW:A and maybe Revengeance (though that'll probably drop like a rock, so no worries) because I wasn't sure if I should repair my dead fatty, get another one or if I could wait it out until PS4. PS4 in 2014 for Yurop sealed the deal to get another PS3.

Will regular codes work on pre-orders?

Hey chaps,

Hope you don't mind me asking this here, but does anyone have any experience with preordering from Grainger Games? Mainly concerning delivery dates (i.e. will it likely turn up on time, or a week late?)... very tempted to preorder the new Tomb Raider for £30 from them, but they are a completely unknown quantity, to me.

Pre ordered Far Cry 3 from them, got it day before.

I've never preordered, but normal orders from them usually take nearly a week to arrive due to them being rather slow with dispatching stuff out.

Last of us Joel Edition is back on the tesco site after them taking it down for a while. Might be fixed now, not sure.

Also apparently the Wii U Premium edition is £239 instore in grainger games this week if you have one near by.

Not sure if this has been posted but Amazon has raised the price of Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen; both versions (PS3/X360) now cost £17.86, which is still a great price since it contains the original game + all DLC. Glad I pre-ordered it when it was really cheap anyhow.

Appears to be online too.

Basic is £208 ish.

Guys, if you buy an Origin PC download game on amazon.com from Europe, will you be able to redeem the key in Europe on Origin or is it region locked? I've preordered SimCity on Greenmangaming but it will be released 3 days earlier in the US so I'd buy it there if it works.

I've bought a few origin games from Amazon.com and all of them have activated fine. FIFA 13 and NFS The Run being the most recent ones iirc.

Thanks. I suppose you used an US address? Now the only question is will it allow me to activate them even though it won't be released at the time in Europe?

I haven't been a member here very long but I've seen you guys dishing out codes to each other and that's pretty cool.

Now it's my turn. I have codes for 3 iOS games because I pre-ordered Dead Space 3, but I don't have a Smartphone.

Quote to reveal and enjoy!

Nabbed Need for Speed. Thanks =D

Some 3DS eShop titles give you double points. Not sure which but it's up on their main site.

Afaik you only get special points when do a special offer. They did that with Paper Mario if you registered it within a certain period of time after its release iirc.

And yes, I think you have to link your system to your Club Nintendo account.
