Why must you tempt me with the promised land?
Because it's way, way better. That's why!
Why must you tempt me with the promised land?
I think I might re-watch OreImo to prepare myself for S2 in the Spring.
I need to finally watch the extra episodes. It's weird because there are two versions of episode 12 (good end, and true end), and I can't remember which one I saw. I have this distinct memory of. But I don't think I watched both versions of episode 12... It's only necessary to see the true ending to go forward, right?Kirino leaving *AND* Kuroneko enrolling in Kyosuke's school
I have had this stuck in my head for days now.
I had this song stuck in my head before I even watched the show.
[Psycho Pass] - 11 & 12
I really did try to watch this but I just ended up falling asleep. I will try to persevere but even just when I think the show is going to entertaining there's some four minute speech to bore you to death. Gen, why must you try and ruin your own show?
Huh.
That reminds me...
Azusa>Ritsuko>>>>everyone else except>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Miki
That seems highly unfair to Miki, but with Azusa at the top, I'll let that slide.

I really don't like her at all.Producer-san should have fired her when he had the chance

Wow, I might finally have someone to discuss the film with!
Well, it was supposed to be Cyborg009, but it turns out that the HDD didn't turn up in time... So they played 5cm/s. Which I really dislike...
The director's cut.Okay, just a quick question before I jump back down the Evangelion rabbit-hole. This disc presents me with the original airing and directors cut versions of each episode, which should I be going with?

This show in a nutshell.
Looking mightily fine, Wapiko.
Dat bait and switch.

Ah, well, that's a bit more understandable then. lol
I guess at some point you have to keep upping the ante to keep the battles interesting/the same length as other battles. Presumably One Piece will never get as silly as Asura's wrath though. lol
Assuming it's based on a bidding process, I assume it's because they were willing to pay more than anyone else for the rights. Presumably they've found a way to make it work though.
REVENGE OF THE SEA COW!
Which is weird, given what they show of the Marines, but why not.
Well, for all the emphasis on violence - you're talking about a 20 minute fight sequence at the end - the fact that it's all bloodless and clean makes it seem like violence is something that is fun and wacky.
Of course, I'm ignoring the fact that everyone calls out their moves beforehand, because that's just how the genre works, but even if you don't take that into account it still feels goofy. More so when you see the heroes get bloodied and two characters get shot and bleed.
It also makes me question the stakes of the battle. Is Luffy so tied to his particular morality that he's willing to hold back even if the villain is trying to kill him? Is Arlong even trying to kill him at that point or just knock him unconscious?
I mean, there are lots of martial arts movies where all the fighting isn't fatal - all of Jackie Chan's movies for one - but that's because it's really just an excuse for action porn rather than actual storytelling or characterization. Come to think of it though, I suppose One Piece's action probably fits that bill as well. The difference is that at the end of every Jackie Chan movie, you have a bloopers reel to show how everything was all in good fun. It serves as a reminder to the audience that these characters are all friends in real life and that martial arts and stunts aren't always beautiful to watch (and can be extremely painful). Maybe One Piece does the same thing by just being inherently goofy with its Gomu Gomus and whatnot.
Well, I figured I might as well put my money where my mouth is with regards to my feelings on One Piece.
(I still wish everything was like Gintama though... sorry! lol)

Well, I can't fault that for looking ugly or anything. Some glaring (NSFW) continuity errors aside, it actually had plenty good animation (or rather as much good stock footage as you can endure Nadia saying Jean is a great genius). It's just... there's no real point? Ostensibly, this was about Jean and Nadia coming to terms with their feelings for each other, but the foray into the comedy dream world was clear cut filler that contributed nothing to this particular plot strand. I don't think Jean learned shit from it.
That part with Nemo riding the nautilus is the best the filler has to offer!Let's persevere.
The live action bits were certainly an interesting part of the show. Though they don't ultimately seem to accomplish much but the same "gag" if you can even call it that. They eventually chop up the pacing and get in the way of the otherwise interesting story. They go from macabre to silly in the way that they depict Otaku. Perhaps this was some 'more culturally relevant now than then' lampooning of the media depicting Otaku as degenerates. Or maybe they just wanted to laugh at themselves.
The second episode seemed to completely step all over the first by making everything go from down-to-earth otaku story to![]()
We could all use one of these
The danger of a "surprise" screening. Lolz.

I think I may be the only person in the entire world who thinks the ending only serves to further highlight how utterly pathetic otaku are depicted in this work. Everyone else sees it as a glorification of otaku fandom.Otaku no Video
I'm surprised that they were able to use other properties like that, given the fake reference porn culture that we have now.Otaku no Video
Yeah, you win some, you lose some. I admit, had I known I'd be subjected to 5cm/s, I probably wouldn't have bothered making the trip, but it was nice to have another chance to see Wolf Children theatrically.
I do find it somewhat depressing that Poppy Hill - a movie which I don't dislike - manages to fill out a cinema far more than Hosoda's effort purely on Ghibli name recognition, though.
Anyway, the RE:009 license is actually for theatrical, so hopefully a chance to see it will crop-up in the not too distant future.
-edit- Oh, parts of the audience actually started actively heckling 5cm/s, which was pretty hilarious. Personally, I just want to know how a toothbrush can collect depression.
So why did they start handing out 3D glasses if they didn't even have the film available at the venue?
I don't see it as either. I see it as it taking the third route where theyI think I may be the only person in the entire world who thinks the ending only serves to further highlight how utterly pathetic otaku are depicted in this work. Everyone else sees it as a glorification of otaku fandom.
Why do they make these images so low res? It'd be nice to actually be able to read the text.
You're gaining...nothing. All your doing is delaying how long it takes you got get to the OH MY GOD finale stuff. Don't you ever want to reach OP 2?[Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water] 26

Really cool episode, but Kogami sure needs to powerup. Was hoping Akane would bash Makashima's head in with the helmet, that would have been sweet. Kagari was dead at the end there right? The gun was saying nonlethal, but it looked like it changed to lethal mode didn't it?
