JP site - much better than US
http://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/aggj/index.html

Holy crap, why does this game look so good? Did Next Level Games get some Shin'en people to work on this? 'Cause graphically it looks very nice, even though 3DS games typically look bad in screenshots.

Agreed. Game looks fricking fantastic (well, it always has, even since its debut.) Only downside is jaggies, but that's endemic to all 3DS games.

This game is going to be a Dark Horse for handheld GOTY, I can feel it.

Sweet, JP site has the full main theme :D. I really like it. Graphics look pretty damn good, lighting seems to have improved unless I'm mistaken.

Typically every Nintendo game ever looks bad in screenshots, maybe they finally learned how to capture :p. But yeah, looks great, will look even better in 3D methinks. Is it me or do some shots have AA?

Edit: Who's composing this? Does Next Level Games have their own composer working on the game or is it someone from Nintendo?

Being able to delay it for a long-arse time probably has something to do with it.

Wait does it support the circle pad pro? Controls sounds difficult otherwise.

I don't think so, no. You can control the vacuum with the gyro or the face buttons, whichever you prefer.

It'll have to fight Pokemon X & Y, Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem, Soul Sacrafice (?), Mario & Luigi 4, and Donkey Kong Returns 3D for it though.

Which reminds me, get some of NLG's cast to help Game Freak a bit on the overworld in X/Y. It's a bit bland, and the textures aren't as good as they can be. The battles look pretty good though.

The only one it legitimately has to fend off is MH3U.

Maybe Pokemon X/Y if it's fantastic but I have reservations.

Soul Sacrifice will invariably win the HGOTY :P

All the Vita fans will vote for it, while the vote will be split amongst 3DS people.

Still not seeing how it would win. Also, I own a Vita and the last thing I'd give HGOTY to would be yet another Monster Hunter clone. Ys deserves it more than that does.

Ys will probably be my fave Vita game (though I've heard it was somewhat disappointing from the import crowd), but I think they're mostly all going to rally behind SS come awards season.

Unless Tearaway is a knockout.

I remember when people were saying the same thing about Sticker Star.

Sticker Star was pretty good, it suffered because of Miyamoto backlash (on GAF, at least) after Iwata Asks and not being the TTYD sequel fans of that game wanted it to be.

Some of the videos on the JP site give me hope that there's some good puzzle solving and uses for the vacuum.

Just got my Blue 3DS XL, currently playing Fire Emblem (game is great). Can't wait for Luigis Mansion, it looks like a killer year for 3DS perfect time to get one for anyone still on the fence.

I am very glad that this game seems to be living up to the legacy of its prequel in terms of presentation! I was on the fence before, but now I'm fully on board! Day 1 purchase!

God. There's 4 solid weeks of 3ds releases.

Etrian Odyssey
Castlevania
MonHun
Luigi & Mystery Dungeon(?)

Damn it, and we're getting a bunch of eShop games soon too. Kerploosh!, HarmoKnight, Dillion's Rolling Western: The Last Ranger are all confirmed within the next 5 weeks, along with the probable releases of Nano Assault EX and ATV Wild Ride 3D.

It's presentation, to me, looks even better.

How many mansions do you think there'll be total?
Any chance for a Kid Icarus/SM3DL style 'but wait, there's more?'

What is LM2's original language? English? The completionist in me wants to play it in the original, but the Japanese version is out in about 23 days...

And I don't have a non-jp system anyway.

I already mentioned this, but I freaking love the art direction and everything around it: the character renders, the visual style, and the animations. If Next Level Games knocks it out of the park with this game, then they could be another top studio for Nintendo.

And the US version comes out 4 days after. :P Anyways, Next Level Games is a Canadian company, so I'd guess the original language is English.

Any videos I could watch for the before and after?
There's a bunch of them on Youtube. Although after rewatching some of them, I am starting to wonder wether the perceived improvement in visuals is due to the fact that Nintendo only recently showed some of the more elaborated rooms.

So next month I have to get Castlevania, Monster Hunter, and Luigi's Mansion?
Whose brilliant idea was it to put three big 3DS games together in one month?

One of the subheadings on the website is "The Tools and the Talent". Good to know that there are Ghostbusters fans working for Nintendo.

Yup. It just seems that when you have Nintendo supervising your game it's going to play and look good. This game is obviously no exception. I really can't wait for this damn game.

Man, I'm so happy this game exists. I've always wanted a sequel to Luigi's Mansion, but I thought it would be as likely as getting a sequel to Kirby's Air Ride.

Can't wait to play it.

The best part about that picture is every game in it looks amazing, and a great price.

I was on the fence about this title but will most likely grab it. Anyone recommend the first game, first?

If you can find it, sure. It's a short game but it's incredibly charming, lot's of fun to be had searching for treasure as well, lot's of amazing (for its time) physics effects when you use your vaccuum.

Preferably you'd want to get the PAL version. All games have a second quest, but the PAL version adds to it. Bosses have different patterns, the mansion is mirrored, more regular ghosts among other things.

Makes a second run more interesting if you want more the second you beat it.
