I see what you are saying, but at the same time. A wall outlet is the most standard universal compatibility you will get for charging any device.
Maybe it would be a good idea to look for additional compatible gamepad power cords

Ass. Creed III and all other Ubisoft games were 30% off on the eShop recently.
Runner 2 is also pretty fantastic if you're in NA, there's a demo if you want to try it out

If you can play with friends, Nintendo Land is surprisingly awesome.
You also might add Lego City Undercover (depending on the reviews) which release next month, and that's pretty much it.
There's also a few interesting eShop titles, but most (if not all) of them can also be found on PSN/XBLA/Steam.

Also Virtual Console games that will stop dropping soon. So far we only have Baloon Fight and F Zero though. Super Metroid is coming in May (for 30 cents by the way!).

I never got into Assasins Creed series but I am intrigued.
Should I get straight into AC3 or get the other games? What do you recommend? I have a PS3.

It runs fine, almost identical to the other versions (which honestly isn't spectacular anywhere other than maybe PC)

If you're intrigued by the series in general, and not just AC3, def go after the AC2 games first on your ps3. I'd say all of them are good from 2 onwards, but with a vibe of diminishing returns regarding the main story and depending how into it your are, the gameplay (I loved playing them all, the story just got tired for me, but I think alot of people were are getting burned out on the gameplay too).
If it's just 3 because it's on Wii U and you want a new Wii U game, that's a fine place to start. You're jumping in at the end point to the *main*story, but it's pretty terrible, and won't affect your enjoyment of the *historical* story, since it's actually a new beginning on that end, and will set you up nice for AC IV's historical half.

Yeah Wii BC is great if you like having a black border on your screen and completely fucked up aspect ratio for VC games.

Black Border.....
My kids have been playing a ton of Wii games on their Wii U and I have not noticed any black borders around any games. In fact I am actually quit impressed with how Wii games actually look and play on the Wii U.
Just today I asked my 8 year son which NSMB game he preferred. The Wii version or the Wii U version, replying the Wii version.
playing xenoblade on wii u and no black border for me.

I switch over my aspect ratio from Native to Natural and it's fine. Whatever, though.
This is my first time with AC and my second Wii U game.
Playing on the gamepad is awesome, missions are perfect for 15-30 minute plays. The game is much bigger than Batman, the story campaign goes on and on. Not a lot of hand holding but gameplay is relatively straight forward.
The framerate dips are noticibile but usually when a lot of stuff is happening. Graphics are very good.
Honestly, Assassin's Creed 3 is a better experince playing on the Wii U pad and being able to use the hdtv to watch sport, news or dvd. The game would be too boring otherwise if you were to just play on the hdtv, especially if you are not interested in the story or characters and setting.
I do that too. Then switch back to Native, otherwise the image gets cropped. But hey, it's 1080p, even if it's over-scanned.

Yeah in order for me to get rid of it I have to go into my picture settings and turn off full pixel mode and then zoom the picture in a bit.. and then if I go back in to Wii U mode things at the edges will get cut off so I have to switch it back. Not exactly user friendly. You should be able to have it fill the screen in full pixel mode because that's what a 1080p HDTV getting a 1080p picture from HDMI is supposed to be set at.
But even then, doing that won't fix the aspect ratio of VC games.

Ah, the two life expanders for the Wii U controller are out, I've been wanting those. I think I'll get the U Boost first, even though it's ugly I shouldn't be touching it *huge back and all*, and it gives it a nice kickstand for Netflixing elsewhere or just whatever.
Lego City and Monster Hunter will be breathing some life into this system, need them to come out haha.

trine 2 is pretty bad, not sure why you guys seem to like it. Awlful voice work, boring as fuck story stuff. Lame puzzles n gameplay. Bad music. Only good thing is visuals.

I have the first game on PC. I got bored very early on. I got ACIII during the Ubisoft sale and I've been playing it practically non-stop (well, until Runner 2 came out).
I don't feel like I need to go back and play the others.
well i was having problems with both. but it seems to correct itself but i'm still concerned. i hope it's just a glitch. that's why i'm trying to find out if anybody else has that problem. in reality though it's not a big deal cuz the browser itself still kicks butt lol.

i was playing a little Bust-A-Move Plus and Rayman Origins today. it sure is awesome to be able to play all the games u had for the Wii.

Got a question regarding digital purchases - you can buy spacebucks/points online using a credit card, right? Is that purchase taxed? I'm guessing yes but I just want to make sure.
The ZombiU bundle for ~$350 at Newegg is tempting and I'm wondering if buying MH3U digitally with the Digital Deluxe Promotion is a better option than Amazon's MH3U deal. Since Amazon collects sale tax in CA now. :/

I think it depends on your state. I don't pay tax for example but I think some other do.

If it's just a digital good, what's stopping me from reporting an address in a state that doesn't collect sales tax? I assume they aren't going to go through the work to ask my CC company where I live lol.
