Wii U Satisfaction Thread

This is my first post in this thread. I picked up the Wii U at launch. While I have been disappointed in some ways (OS/lack of actual account/ slow Virtual Channel launch) I have to say that the off TV play has been fantastic and so worthwhile in my home.

My daughter is able to watch Netflix or play Mario while my wife and I watch TV. I also have realized that this will be a system for legacy system support and Nintendo games and I have grown to be ok with that.

While Nintendo deserves criticism for a few important issues I really appreciate the gamepad amd off TV support.

If this is going to be your only next gen system I can appreciate dissappointment with the lack of third party support but if the Wii U is meant to be used in conjunction with your PC/PS4 or Nextbox I think you'll be quite happy. Though waiting for a price may be worthwhile.

That's a darn good deal for three months into the console's life cycle plus three of the best (and most Wii U-defining) games. Have fun!
 
I have my Wii connected with component cables. Would games see any improvement at all if they were played on the Wii U since it's connected with HDMI? Do games stream better from the disc if it sounded like the game was struggling on the Wii?

There are no points, you pay with actual currency. I'm not sure what the Amazon MH3U deal is, but I believe that ZombiU bundle gives you a download code for Nintendoland which will automatically give you a DDP $5 code to use in the future. So yeh, you could use that on a digital purchase of MH3U.

I really like the DDP. You can essentially get $5 off every full price title after the first. I have a think I have 3 or 4 codes I can use so I can get LEGO City or MH3U for $15/$20 off.

You should see a slight improvement. No idea about the disc thing.
 
I absolutely LOVE miiverse. Such a great idea! And the talent people have out there. It's so cool. The netflix and youtube pages are so far the most interesting.
 
I use the Wii U every day even if I don't play games on it every day. Its just such a great machine for surfing, posting, movies.. Whatever. End of march can't come fast enough, Wii U dearly needs those games. I need those games :) The family likes the machine as well. My 3 year old nags me every night to play some Mario, just as I nagged my dad to rent a NES and Mario When I was little.
 
Trine 2 is full of bugs, main menu icons doubling, never ending loading when changing a solo play to online and the worst is probably levels that don't end when playing online like stage 17.

Wii U Games 2013

Nintendo still needs to announce a lot of exact release dates and additional games, but I think they're going to do this in their next Nintendo Direct (at least the release dates), which shouldn't be too far away either.
 
So I tried playing Rhythm Heaven Fever on my Wii U and found it near unplayable. The audio lag caused by HDMI is making the timing on the harder mini-games near impossible. Is there any way to output audio over the multi-out like on PS3? I'm holding off on buying Runner 2 until I can figure out what to do.

There's no issue on Runner 2.
 
Found an old HDD lying round on the weekend. Chucked it in a enclosure I had and plugged it in. Probably took <1 minute to get it formatted and up and running on the Wii U.

Perfect
 
question for anyone who has mario strikers on Wii, does it require 2 nunchuks+wii mote? And no use of classic or pro controller right?
 
Mario Strikers Charged can be played solo with one Wii Remote and one nunchuk. You need three more of that combination in order to play with up to four players.

oh man..i bought that game from the newegg sale...damn it.
 
The OS is definitely faster.

EDIT: Noticeably faster; I'm using the tone in between apps as a yardstick. It would loop 3 times (or more) before. Now, everything loads after two.
 
I gotta stop buying fighting games I think. Been playing Tekken and its fine, seems like an awesome game and I love the Nintendo costumes haha. I know I would have spent ages on it back in the old school day, just, these days I can't find the interest in fighters.

I don't have anyone to play local and online doesn't really interest me, I just don't think they're for me anymore. :(

Smash Brothers is the only exception. :P My brother will always make a special trip to come play that heh.
 
It does feel a bit faster really. Miiverse loads in 11 seconds and the eshop is quite faster then that clusterfuck which they named the new psn store.. Im happy :)

Now i need me some gamez.. Thinking to buy monster hunter but i think "gta" lego suits me better.. The other one gets me a longer playtime though
 
Guys, add me so we can try the videochat!!! I could even teach spanish if you like to practice (and I can practice my english)

For now I have NintendoLand, New Mario and ZombiU and NintendoLand is the best one!

Man... I would be more satisfied with my Wii U if I could purchase eShop games more easily. My eShop account doesn't accept international credit cards and I have to go and buy eShop cards to USA everytime I want to buy an eShop.

If only Amazon would sell eShop codes, just like they sell PSN and Live codes.

Where are you from, son? I was afraid that I would need to do that buy my Mexican debit card does just fine!
